Joe Bugel was the only coach with previous head coaching experience, as he had coached the Arizona Cardinals.

I usually drive pretty fast so it pisses me off when people tailgate me but if I have room I'll usually move over and let them pass. If I see they are trying to speed up to cut in front of me i'll block them just to be a dick. Which brings up a great story. I commute between 4:30 and 6am so traffic isn't too bad but its steady. One day this asshole was weaving in and out and cutting everybody off. He pissed off a few people so they took action. He kept trying to go from the slow lane to the lane next to it but nobody would let him pass so he started flashing his lights and being an ass. After pissing off enough cars they boxed his ass in. A car in front of him, a car behind him and a car to his left boxed him perfectly and would not let him make a move. When he slowed down they perfectly kept the box-in intact and he could do nothing. I was marking the fuck out watching this. Eventually they let him out but for the couple miles they did it, revenge was sweet.

Three Stooges Marathon on AMC
OldSchoolWrestling replied to Zack Malibu's topic in Television & Film
I love Malice in the Palace best. I turned the marathon on and fell asleep. Later that day my 6 year old was going on and on about how cool that show was and wanted me to find some of the Stooge Tapes I had bought a couple years ago. I grew up on the Stooges. -
I'd rather not. As much as they suck- an outsiders/nWO angle might not be the worst thing for TNA. It might suck- but it could also get them noticed. I'd rather not as well. I'd also rather not see Hall and Nash back. In WWE or TNA.

Statement #1: Nathan Jones is a quitter. Cena: False. Nathan is somebody who is going to do what he wants to do in life. He didn’t fit in this business. Gunn: True. Whenever you get stuff handed to you and then you just quit and leave the boys hanging, I don’t think that’s cool. Statement #2: DX was better than Evolution. Cena: True. They would do whatever they want when they wanted. It wasn’t about money. It wasn’t about getting paid. It was just about being renegades. Gunn: True. That’s a fact. Statement #3: Guys should stop hitting each other over the head with steel chairs. Cena: True. They should move on to steel chains. No, check that. False. Stick to the steel chairs, I’ll keep the steel chain. Gunn: False. In every match? No. But every once in a while? Yes. Because some people need to get hit over the head with a chair. Statement #4: The Kansas City Chiefs will win the Super Bowl in 2004. Cena: False. The Patriots will win the Super Bowl in 2004. They’re going to beat the Eagles and the score is going to be 17-14. Gunn: False. They’re playing OK, but they’re not playing good enough to beat Indianapolis. Statement #5: Saddam Hussein will die in 2004. Cena: False. They’re going to keep him around for political b.s. He should have already been dead in 2003. Gunn: True. Big time. For sure.

Carry a pickle in a jar like the Damon Wayans on In Living Color and show it off to passing cars.

Last night’s edition of Raw did a 3.7 cable rating, with a 6 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is up from the 3.0 that the “Best of” show did last week, but had to be lower than WWE expected due to them having announced a top name World Title match in advance and not going against Monday Night Football for the first time since summer. The show did hours of 3.5 and 3.9. The top rated segment for the show was the overrun, which did a 4.4. 1wrestling.com

Looks like an indy show: 3-4-99 Mille Lacs, MN at Grand Casino 5:30 SHOW -- Scotty Zappa w/ Mortimer Plumtree vs. Tony DeNucci. Solid match, but way too much interference from Plumtree for my tastes. Scotty got great heel heat. A "Scotty sucks!" chant started several times. DeNucci went to the top, but Mortimer tripped him up, leading to Scotty scoring the pin while using the second rope for leverage. Derrick "Starfire" Dukes vs. Charlie "Thunderblood" Norris. Norris got a good pop, perhaps having something to do with him being Native American. Bad match, they did next to nothing. A "Boring!" chant broke out. Norris gets the win in a short match after hitting the big boot followed by a double leg roll. Wild Bill Irwin vs. Lenny Lane. Lane got a nice pop, as he was probably the first guy most of the people even recognized. Irwin threatened to leave before the match started, almost getting counted out. They actually did a criss-cross, which I haven't seen in ages. They did a good job of working the crowd. At one point, the somewhat flabby Irwin and chiseled Lane compared physiques, which was pretty funny. Lane gets the win with a rollup. "Slick" Mick introduced special guests Mad Dog and Butcher Vachon. The Vachon brothers got a standing ovation. Mad Dog talked about his years in wrestling, even talking about how he won a gold medal in the '48 Olympics. He also talked about the days when he "beat up our governor" which was funny. When the crowd got a bit noisy, he said in his gravely voice, "Shut up, I'm doing the talking!" The crowd absolutely ate it up, and you could tell the Vachons were enjoying it. Butcher didn't say anything because, as Mick said on his behalf, "Mad Dog said it all." Test vs. Mosh. Neither one of the WWF stars had their entrance music played. (In fact, they only music all night for either show was AC/DC's "Back in Black." Nothing wrong with that, but it gets monotonous after a while.) They did a lot of stalling and playing to the crowd. Mosh slapped on a side headlock. A crowd member apparently got bored with and heckled them. Mosh retorted, "Do you know what spot we're doing?!" They did some spots that apparently they weren't supposed to. (Check out the latest installment of Wrestling Radio. Mick explains that Test and Most were supposed to keep it clean for the early crowd because there were a lot of kids in the audience.) Anyway, Test did a go-behind early, but Mosh acted like, well, you know, Test was trying to invade his personal space. Test got on the mic and called Mosh a "bald queer." Mosh responded by implying that Test was "doing favors" for Mr. McMahon. Apparently, Mick sighed his displeasure at the adult stuff and Mosh responded by calling him "Dick" and giving him a whack on the head with the microphone. Later, Test wore down Mosh with a headlock. Mosh made his comeback and got the win with the silla (Mosh pit?). Battle Royal. This included both Minnesota based talent and WWF guys. And in a somewhat of a surprise, Lenny Lane of WCW also competed. It's not really that big a deal since Lane is an opening match type guy in WCW at best. But I never thought I'd actually see WCW and WWF guys in the ring at the same time. Winner: Test. Other guys in order of elimination: Mosh, Primetime, Derrick Dukes, Hellraiser, Zappa, Lane, Norris, Irwin, Ragin' Red Tyler, Ricky "The Prophet" Rice/Scorpio (at same time), DeNucci, Val Venis/Al Snow. Test won by clotheslining Al and Val (who both got great reactions, especially Val) over the top at the same time. Venis and Snow brawled after the match to set up their Intercontinental match at the 8:30 show. Short show, lasting around 90 minutes. Not a great show overall

Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4

Can the star rating be any more diminished? You have people in here rating this match from a barely *** all the way up to a ****3/4. Can't make * ratings any more meaningless than that. -

At this point, it seems like that TNA will buy a weekly timeslot on WGN for an estimated $50,000 a week. The plan is to begin airing their weekly WGN show in mid-January. This is a huge risk for TNA which by all indications is losing money right now. It is estimated that they are doing between 8,200 and 12,500 buys per week. TNA pockets about $4.20 of the $9.95 PPV price, resulting in roughly $43,000 per week. The cost of running a TNA PPV is roughly $85,000 per week. They also make about $5,000 from their gate, but obviously they are in the red. However, the general feeling is that for TNA to ever become a success, it will need to have free TV to stimulate weekly PPV buys. The discussed timeslot right now is 10AM ET on Saturday mornings, which would be horrible for them. WGN is also not proven as a national network like other channels of its kind are (TBS). WGN does air nationally for the most part, but does not promote nationally, thus making it a glorified Chicago channel. TNA is hoping that they will be able to do a good rating on WGN which would put them in a position to get a better TV deal. Of course, they could lose a significant portion of their money on this risk. The plan is to do an upgraded Xplosion show for WGN. The show would be similar to the current Xplosion but feature one main event level match. Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

What was the point of Mick Foley again?

Austin asked for some time off in December to go deer hunting. They obviously have no original thoughts these days so this is what they came up with. -
In 2004.......the Jews will.......
OldSchoolWrestling replied to NoCalMike's topic in Television & Film
No way. That role would have to go to either SCSA or HHH. With Stephanie playing Mary Magdalene and Eric Bischoff as Judas. -
What happened was Woodson and Garner missed a meeting. When they showed up for the game they were all ready to play and in uniform and Callahan called them into his office. He told them he had made them inactive for the game. When they went out and told everybody, everyone thought they were joking. When they realized it was true, some of the secondary talked about backing the players and not playing, but then realized they needed to play. This pissed the players off because normally you miss a meeting you get a fine. Romanowski busted a guys face and got a fine and missed one day of practice. Tim Brown put the final nail in Callahan's coffin last night on the Raiders radio station by saying he also would never play for Callahan again and that Callahan was coaching to get fired. He also said Callahan told the team early on not to try to be his friend, the offensive line was a bunch of fat-asses and he'd love to coach against his weak defensive line.
