Someone should hire him to be a commentator.

Between TNA, Indies, and touring Japan, he'd be fine financially. Plus, he owns that comic book store. I'm sure his family would prefer him working at a company where you can afford to fly major airlines, stay at nice hotels and be as safe and financially secure as well. I don't think they'd like for him to be heading to Japan to make the bigger paydays and working the indies driving city to city in rental cars, hoping the promoter filled up the high school gym so that you can get paid that night.

I was really happy to see Goldust get over with the IWC after many questioned his signing when he came back. He brought a freshness to Raw that was severely lacking. He got himself over and helped Booker T get more over. He didn't play politics, didn't use his previous employment as something to sit back and be lazy on and made people care. Unlike most wrestlers, he went out leaving us wanting more.

This week's edition of Smackdown did a 3.4 broadcast rating, with a six share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is down from last week's 3.6. The highest segment of the show was the 8:45 quarter hour, which did a 3.7. 1wrestling.com

Jimmy Jacobs Upset with Sabian
OldSchoolWrestling replied to Nevermortal's topic in General Wrestling
Hilarious Jacobs comes off as a very intelligent and respectful guy. He seems to have a respect for the business. -
I taped the show but haven't watched it yet. Please tell me that the Vince McMahon/Cat nonsense didn't come on at 8:45 and get the highest rating.
-
I've been taping the show off of TVLand and have about half the series at this point. Lamont is really moody.

Isn't it actually "Faces of Death"? These videos came out in the 80's. They were basically death scenes caught on tape. An alligator eating a man, death squad shootings, etc. Some questioned their validity and they even put out a volume entitled "Fact or Fiction?" Here's their website: http://www.facesofdeath.com/ A funny story about this. Back when this first came out, my cousin and I rented it on Thanksgiving and popped it in with all the family there. The grandmothers and elders freaked out, but it was on a good 30 minutes before someone made us take it out.

I'll like Lamont if he bumps like a pinball when Cat starts wrestling heel and he gets his ass kicked.

I liked it. My 6 year old was asking me the other day what happened to the guy that wore the big clock around his neck. I was a huge fan of Kendrick on Smackdown.

He's a sports entertainer. Not a wrestler. That's more than enough for Vince.

Today is Big Show's two-month anniversary winning

Leave Big Show alone. Vince gave him the Ronnie Garvin exemption. -
WWE Notes: Holiday Break, Iraq, Foley DVD
OldSchoolWrestling replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
If its airing on Christmas, you can expect a very watered-down show anyway. -
But why would he do it? Seriously, why would Vince want to make a DVD and promote a DVD for a man that isn't even in his company anymore? If the Hitman agrees to return in any form then I bet the DVD will be made. But until he returns to the company, I doubt Vince would even consider making the DVD. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Flair being in the fed at the time makes his face more recognizable, but how many marks out there do you think bought this dvd? This dvd was the best selling wrestling dvd because of the old school smarks. The same would happen for Bret. He can't come back and wrestle, so those that will buy it will be the hardcore fans, and that would be the oldschools and the smarks.

I started watching wrestling in the late 70's early 80's when I would flip through cable and catch NWA shows on TBS. I'd watch a few matches and promos then on commercial change it. The Rock n Wrestling Connection on MTV with Cyndi Lauper, Wendi Richter, Lou Albano, Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper got me hooked for good on WWF and the Four Horsemen breaking Dusty's leg in the cage got me hooked on WWF. I watched WM2 and 3 on closed circuit tv at the Oakland Coliseum and have seen every WM since live on ppv, except for 6, which I saw live. I started reading Pro Wrestling Illustrated around 86 and started getting more behind the scenes stuff when they came out with Pro Wrestling Illustrated Weekly. Jumped on the net smark scene with Wrestline back when that was big.

He has yet to wrestle a match on Smackdown.

How much are you charging for these tapes Corey?

They have to get the title off of JJJ and cut down on his involvement on the show. He comes out way too much and it kills a lot of shows for me. He can be upper card but doesn't need to make 5 appearances per show. If they are going to bring Hogan back, fine. But until that is for sure, take the title off of him and give it to someone else. If he's holding it so that he can stay strong for Hogan, he may be holding that belt for a long time. Limit run-ins. I am tired of every main event having run-ins. They think the run-in is going to make everyone want to come back next week to see the show. It hurts the show that there are so many run-ins.
-
Can't they make one without him? Not that I would want that, but if Vince owns all the footage and wants to do it, can't he? It would be great for him to be a part of it, but even on the Flair dvd, it seems like he wasn't a huge part of it. They ran limited commercials, used footage from Confidential, and kinda put what they wanted on there. I don't recall any interviews with Flair pimping it much.

Huge ammounts of police swarming "Neverland"...
OldSchoolWrestling replied to Downhome's topic in Current Events
Got this from CNN on the email alerts they send out: Michael Jackson charged with seven counts of child molestation and two other counts of administering an intoxicating agent to a minor to commit a felony. -
I have a really hard time counting Turmoil as individual matches. Each pinfall happens so fast it just doesn't seem right. You are crediting Pac and Credible for 3 matches yet their combined match time is just over 12 minutes. I prefer to think of it more like a 2/3 fall match. One match, many falls.
