The One and Only Survivor: Pearl Islands Thread

Bringing this back from the dead. Hightlights from last night: Rupert voted out When Jon cast his vote to boot Rupert he said: "To be the man you have to beat the man. Whooo!!!" -
Ric Flairs promo on the last ever Nitro "Did I, Did I, WHOOOOOO! Did I happen to here Vince McMahon say he was going to hold WCW in the palm.. of.. his... hand! Is that what he said ? Does that mean that you are going to hold Jack Brisco, Dory Funk, Harley Race, the Road Warriors, Sting, Luger, The Steiners, Ric Flair, Steamboat, does that mean that you're gonna hold us all in the palm of your hand. To coin a phrase, I DON'T THINK SO. You know, at 12 o'clock today, someone very special to me said 'Don't go out on that show tonight knowing it's the very last time that you'll ever be on TNT or TBS." She said to me, "Don't go out there and cry. Don't go out there and say you're sorry," because I'm NOT. I've been FOURTEEN TIMES (Crowd: "WHOOOOOOO!") THE WORLD CHAMPION, for the greatest WRESTLING organization in the WORLD, WCW. We, I'm talking about the Stings, the Steamboats, the Steiners, the Road Warriors, I'm talking about my best friend Arn Anderson and the Four Horseman ("WHOOO!") We have been on a par, and we have been equal to any wrestling organization in the WORLD. As a matter of fact, we have run neck and neck with you, Vince McMahon, for YEARS. And just for trivia Vince McMahon, did you know that in 1981 when you were trying to become an announcer, your Dad was on the board of directors and voted for ME to be the World Heavyweight Champion. WHOOOO! How 'bout that! And ever since that day I have been a limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheelin deelin, SON OF A GUN, and ALONG WITH THE WHOLE DAMN WCW, have kissed the beautiful girls world wide and made 'em cry. But you see, we were EVERY BIT the force. We worked WCW, we lived, we breathed, we sweat WCW. We paid the price to be the BEST. It's never been about the boys, it's always been WWF versus the WCW. In the office, the boys have gone out there night in and NIGHT OUT doing everything they could to be the very best at what they've chosen to do with their lives. Those boys are here tonight. WE ARE. We're not going anywhere. YOU CAN'T HOLD US IN YOUR HANDS and control our lives. WE'RE WCW. We've bled and we've sweat. When was the last time that you wrestled for an hour, cut yourself five times, bled for 45 minutes. WHEN WERE YOU THERE? YOU WEREN'T. YOU WEREN'T!! You weren't in the dressing room, on the road 40 days and 40 nights, bleeding, sweating, going to the next town. YOU CAN'T HOLD PEOPLE'S LIVES IN YOUR HANDS. We're the greatest wrestling company of all time. I"m gonna say it again, You can't control us OR our future. And in closing, let me say this... In all my years in this sport, my greatest opponent in this company has been STING. So tonight, if we're going out, if we're going out on a high-note, Stinger, The Nature Boy wants you right here in the middle of the ring (HUGE POP) because Sting, STING, my greatest opponent, STING, it's your last chance TO BE THE MAN (Crowd starts chanting Sting's name, Flair's joins along). To be the man, you've got to BEAT THE MAN. AND I AM, THE MAN!!!

Huge ammounts of police swarming "Neverland"...

Did anyone see the news clip where a bunch of people swarmed Jackson's SUV while he was stopped at a red light. They were banging on the car trying to talk to him. I was hoping someone would drag his ass out and beat the crap out of him. -
I think I read that since they won't be having a SD ppv in the next few months, they'll be having tv title matches, so Holly it seems will just be a tv title match.

Is it wrong to mark for Ryan pretty much the least? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against his character, but you've got Sandy, Seth, Summer, Marissa, Julie, Kirsten, and Anna almost always stealing the scenes. My favorite Ryan scenes are usually the one's with Seth because Seth gets him to crack a smile.

First let me get my gripe out of the way. How in the hell do you not have Summer's picture in the opening credits????? The hottest chick on the show and she gets held down like this. Luke, who was off the damn show the last two weeks gets to be in the opening credits, but Summer, who is an important part of every show, gets nothing but her name, AFTER the commmercial break. Bastards. Okay, now that that is out of the way, this is officially my favorite show on tv right now. Sandy has me laughing every time he is onscreen. When he said to his wife "Hit the bricks? Who still says that?" I was dying. Seth is right behind him in the comedy awesomeness. Julie's bitch looks were deadly. Kirsten telling Sandy to kick her dad out was funny. Summer saying "eww" when Sandy walked in was gold but her kissing Seth and not understanding why continues to be the best of the best. Anna has officially become hot in my book, but there seems to be something wrong with her speech. Anyone else picking this up? She speaks in baby talk. Like she has a speech impediment. Oh yeah, Ryan, Snoopie, nuff said.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Karen Sisco. Damnit. I enjoyed the cast and was really getting into this show.

Just started hearing this on the radio a few weeks back which means it should be overplayed ver soon. Its a beautiful and very emotional song. Add on to that the fact that its being put out there while Luther is in a coma. It touches me as a son and as a father of three. Following are the lyrics and then an article about the song, including comments from his mom. Dance With My Father Back when i was a child, before life removed all the innocence my father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then spin me around' til i fell asleep then up the stairs he would carry me and i knew for sure i was loved if i could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him i'd play a song that would never, ever end how i'd, love love, love to dance with my father again when i and my mother would diagree to get my way, i would run from her to him he'd make me laugh just to comfort me then finally make me do just what my mama said late that night when i was asleep he left a dollar under my sheet never dreamed that he would be gone from me if i could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him i'd play a song that would never, ever end 'cause i'd love, love, love to dance with my father again sometimes i,d listen outside her door and i,d hear how my mother cried for him i pray for her even more than me i pray for her even more than me i know i'm praying for much to much but could you send me back the only man she ever loved i know you don't do it usually but dear lord she's dying to dance with my father again every night i fall asleep and this is all i ever dream Song for Vandross' father By Steve Jones, USA TODAY Luther Vandross' touching tribute to his late dad is touching the R&B singer's fans. As they hope for his recovery from a severe stroke April 16, Dance With My Father, the title track from Vandross' new album, has become one of the most requested songs at adult radio. Luther Vandross' tribute to his dad climbs the charts. On the song, this week's fastest-growing hit on the adult R&B radio airplay chart and a fast riser on pop adult contemporary stations, Vandross reminisces happily about his father, Luther, who died when the singer was young. The song has taken on an added poignancy for listeners; the 52-year-old star has yet to regain consciousness since being stricken and remains hospitalized in critical condition in New York. "Fans often call and say, 'We hope he gets one more chance to dance,' " says Jim Ryan, program director at New York's WLTW. Ryan, who also consults on programming with radio chain Clear Channel's 131 other AC stations, says he received a handwritten letter from Vandross six weeks ago thanking Ryan for including him in the station's TV ads and mentioning that he had just written what he considered his "career song." Dance was performed April 28 on the Fox TV show Boston Public by former American Idol contestant Tamyra Gray. Ryan played the Vandross version for the first time the next day. "It had an overwhelming telephone response," Ryan says. "It's become one of the most requested songs at the radio station." Vandross' mother, Mary, said in a statement last week that when she heard the song, "I played it over and over and I cried and I cried. I was amazed at how well Luther remembered his father, how we used to dance and sing in the house. I was so surprised that at 7½ years of age, he could remember what a happy household we had." The new album is the 15th of the singer's career and includes guest appearances by Foxy Brown, Beyoncé Knowles, Busta Rhymes, Queen Latifah and Stevie Wonder. It follows his self-titled platinum debut on J Records. Coinciding with the album's release June 10, his old label, Epic Records, will put out The Essential Luther Vandross, featuring 30 of his greatest hits. Ryan says those songs also have been in greater demand at radio stations of late. "The fans want to hear them, and they want to think of him," he says. "We'd like to think that music heals."

If Flair's dad wasn't Buddy Rogers he wouldn't even have a job today.

So fucking what! if their dead should they be loosing fans not gaining them? i mean when ur dead you can't get any money. i mean they should be more famous when their alive cuz there alive and they can do stuff to make them more famous. You take people for granted when they are alive. When they are gone you wish for the good times and you miss them more. Just the way it is.

They fucking buried him before he got sick. WCW put him on the crap shows then dumped him. Vince brought him in for WM and then they never called him back. Then he got sick.

I'm hoping these shows will be taped for Sunshine. I specifically paid extra for this channel as well.

"I'm a person who can't spell demented!" LOL Sorry, I am usually compassionate, but I don't listen to people or feel badly for them when they have their weekly episode of "Look At Me! Look At Me!" Life sucks for everyone idiot, so grow up and stop crying like a little bitch. Do you have cancer? Do you have all your limbs? Can you see and hear and speak? Do you live indoors somewhere, preferably with heat and indoor plumbing? Eat 3 meals a day (or 4 or 5 or 6)? THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP. That is all. Mental illness can be just as bad as cancer or other illnesses. He sounds pretty messed up to me. Not that he can't be faking it, but he sounds pretty bad, and with Jay concurring, I'm believing it.

The One and Only NWA TNA 11/19/03 thread...
OldSchoolWrestling replied to Downhome's topic in TNA Wrestling
They are banking their future on Hogan coming in, popping ratings and helping them get a tv deal. Hogan can ask them to change their name to NWA-TNAHogan and they would do it. Expect him to flex a lot of muscle when he comes in. Expect a lot of his friends to get jobs. He'll bring some good to the promotion, such as buyrates and possibly a tv deal. But he'll also bring a lot of bad, such as people like Brutus Beefcake and other scrubs. -
If this is the one with the mannequin, all I have to say is "Whooooo"!!!!!!!

VCD is MPEG1 has a resolution of 352x240 (NTSC) and a constant video bitrate of 1150 (XVCD you can change both of these). SVCD is MPEG2 and has a video resolution of 480x480 and a constant bitrate of 2520, but this can be set to variable to allow for a smaller file size without sacrificing too much quality. SVCD is the way to go if your after quality... check out vcdhelp.com for more info
