Interview w/ ROH star HC Loc
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Doug Williams is a two time FWA Heavyweight champ. (Just incase you cared? Your screwing the anarchist out of a title reign ) K, I sent in the addition and hopefully the webmaster will update that. -
People make him out to be like Terry Funk, like Mick Foley, like Abby. Yes, there is NO DOUBT that he is very, very talented and very, very charismatic. However, he does not deserve to be portrayed in the same light as those guys, and I'll be damned if he isn't. He never made it to WCW. He never made it to the WWF/E. That alone should stop him from being mentioned in that same light. He's portrayed as a living legend. What did he do in ECW? He was there for two years, feuded with Dusty Rhodes, had a bunch of classic matches, but he was their champ during their dying days. Before ECW, he worked in various indy feds. It's through ECW that he gained his fame and in all honesty, he did nothing in ECW compared to the likes of Mikey Whipwreck, Spike Dudley, and Balls Mahoney, all of whom had influences on the promotion that are very, very underrated.

Billy Gunn Fan of the ROHWrestling.com board is organizing a going away style party (not really a party, but whatever) for WWE-bound Alexis Laree at the 9/20 show in Philly. Fans attending and interested in participating can do the following. He's making shirts that says We (heart) Alexis!. Each will be 7.00 and can be bought at the show. Email him at [email protected] for more info. He's also making copies of a "I will survive"-themed song for fans at the show to sing to her. Could be the funniest moment in wrestling. Anyway, go to http://www.rohwrestling.com/forum/index.ph...f=1&t=1893&st=0 and http://www.rohwrestling.com/forum/index.ph...=1&t=1893&st=15 for more info. LONG LIVE ALEXIS!

Hey, does anyone know any sites similar to SparkNotes.com, PinkMonkey.com, Barren's book notes, and GradeSaver.com/Classic Notes? I'm doing the reading, believe it or not, but I need some help w/ analyzing the books I'm reading (the one I'm mainly concerned w/ is The Grapes of Wrath), i.e. analysis of various quotes and stuff like that. Any suggestions for similar web sites would be appreciated VERY much. Thanks.

1inch punch is going to rattle off why he dislikes various (excellent) indy groups and expects not to start a flame war. OK... I'm "disqualified" from participating? When the fuck did you become a ref, zebra-boy?

XPWrestling.com has been updated with news about how you can support Rob Black + Lizzy Borden in their upcoming legal battle. Also, at Wednesday's NWA-TNA PPV, dark match results saw two XPW stars compete, as Mad Mikey (Crash Holly) beat Altar Boy Luke and Glen Gilberti (Disco Inferno) beat Pogo the Clown.

If you're on the East Coast, turn on ABC right now.

Hey, Mr. Hamrick. I interviewed you wearlier this year about your career (I asked some of the questions u probably don't get often, like about working in CZW, the Angel/Exit Sandman incident where people said you may've been disrespecting Messiah, etc.) and since you're on the board, I figured i'd just like to say... You, man, are the shiznit. Keep up the awesome work. Me looking forward to your PTW match this weekend vs. Homicide!

PWG Bad Ass Mother 3000 Tourney This Weekend in LA
LucharesuFan619 replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
I'm not a major fan of M-Dogg, butI guess I come across one, kinda. I just think he gets a bit too much heat. Sure, he's a spot machine, but he's even more amazing than Red in some respects. Shooting star press DDTs, handspring inverted ranas, etc., he's amazing. "Are these PWG shows the only shows he's worked without Josh? It always seems that they are on every card together and it's odd to see one without the other." Good observation. never thought about it until now, but I think ur about right - this is about the only show hes worked without Josh, besides a couple of Union of Indy Pro Wrestlers shows in PA where he was the only big name (KingdomJames.com is the official UIPW site) and 1 or two IWC shows (one of whcich comes to midn is the 12/6/02 show when he wrestled CM Punk). They usually do work together, though. -

I hope to God M-Dogg wins. You can see Cabana compete in IWC, ROH, IWA, etc. You can't see M-Dogg in many promotions, so there's no point of putting Cabana over him. M-Dogg should be a regular in PWG. Cabana being a regular would make no sense b/c he's already a major star. PWG can push M-Dogg and give him the popularity he had in CZW. -

I live in the New York area and have CableVision as my service and PPV provider. I never thought that TNA aired on CV, but according to the thread at http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...ST&f=38&t=39868 , the 9/10 one cent PPV will be airing "Cable Television" PPV in the US. Does this mean CableVision, or just InDemand, like usual. Secondly, if in fact the 9/10 show will air on CV in the US (and specifically the NY area), does anyone know if it's been airing on CV all along, or just indemand? I've always thought it only aired on InDemand, but with the 9/10 one apparently airing on CV, too, I'm getting curious. I haven't been wrongfully assuming that TNA doesn't air on CV all along, have I? I'll be really pissed if I have, but I would like to know. Thanks.

I've seen him carry two, but not three. I know they're the Rev. Pro tag champs, but in all honesty, nothing else strikes me at the moment. I'm sure they hold some other Mexican title of some sort.

Grimes is off the card! Damn, that really sux! I mark for that SOB. Awesome card, though, and it's awesome to know that NOSAWA will be there. -
"TNA officials are trying to strike a talent exchange deal with Puerto Rico's IWA in hopes of using more Hispanic cruiserweights in the X Division" May be true, but I also read yesterday on Gerweck.net that TNA is no longer interested in IWA's Ricky Banderas, who a few weeks ago they wanted to bring in for the X Division. Makes me wonder about the above news tidbit.

That's Ray Mendoza, actually. Rey Buccanero is a member of Los Guerreros de Infierno. The Villanos still work for CMLL, so does Lizmark Jr and Silver King (wrestling as Black Tiger, one of Eddie Guerrero's old gimmicks). Dandy worked for AAA but quit to go freelance. Super Calo runs his own indy fed in Mexico but his knees are completely shot. Shit. My bad. Thanks for the correction. And to think that I consider myself some what of a fan of the Guerreros. They're my favorite feature besides MMW on Galavision each week, so I guess I better watch em more closely next time, LOL. "Dandy worked for AAA but quit to go freelance." I may be wrong, but I remember seeing a match a few weeks ago on Galavision AAA between Dandy and Heavy Metal (the Dog Collar match where HM ended up bleeding like a motherf'er). Was it someone else? "He works in Tijuana and Monterrey regularly and recently did some CMLL shows." Yeah. I forgot to mention, Damien & Halloween team with Super Crazy and Psychosis/Nicho el Millionario regularly as La Familia de Tijuana. They're currently heels in CMLL, as ConspiracyVictim mentioned. If you're interested in La Parka, the real one (Adolfo Taipea) works CMLL house shows currently and was also in MLW. The asshole that is Antonio Pena (AAA's owner) has owned the TV rights to the La Parka name since before he was in WCW, so he's allowed to be the only guy to feature the name on TV. The La Parka in AAA is a fake one. The real one (Taipea, like I mentioned) works CMLL house shows and a few months ago, did a really historic angle in Mexico where in the ring he took off his mask and told the fans that he was in fact the REAL La Parka, the one who was in WCW and who is a Mexican legend. That's the equivalent of what we call breaking kayfabe here in the U.S. Juvi is in CMLL, I think. He also works for XPW and made some appearances in NWA-TNA. He has a web site in Spanish at JuventudGuerrera.com, I think, although it may've been taken down.

International Wrestling Cartel August 23 West Mifflin, PA results Supreme Lee Great defeated Al B Damm Jimmy Jacobs defeated Alex Shelley Dennis Gregory defeated Dustin Ardine James Keenan defeated Ray Right B.J. Whitmer defeated Dean Radford Eric Angle defeated Bubba the Bulldog IWC Super Indy Title Match Colt Cabana defeated A.J. Styles Devil Advocates defeated M-Dogg 20/Josh Prohibition Shark Boy defeated Carlton Kaz Eric Extasy defeated Mysterious X-DQ Super Hentai def. Shirley Doe IWCWrestling.com Looks like another awesome show from IWC. They really don't get the credit they deserve. For a promotion that has had awesome old school brawls like Punk/Raven and Raven/Corino, featured guys like Sabu and Balls Mahoney, and produced some excellent lightweight action, they somehow remain so unknown.

Still in the working. I haven't forgotten about it and am still working on it. It should be up in a few months, around the end of 2003. -
Ciclope = Damien's MMW partner, Halloween He's in XPW, Rev. Pro, and now MLW. Blitzkrieg made an appearance in APW before retiring. He's now working in the computer technology industry. Calo worked in ECW for awhile. Don't know where he is now. Silver King and El Dandy both work in Mexico still and are seen very regularly. Psychosis is in XPW and CMLL. The Villanos still work in Mexico, occasionally. Their father, the legendary Rey Bucanero, passed away earlier this year.

Does anyone know when they debuted in wrestling? Any info...date, year, opponents, promotion, result of that match, etc.?

Also check out the elimination match between Red, The S.A.T., Kid Kash, Elix Skipper, and a few others. It's a fun spotfest.

If you want the FULL history of the Raven/Punk feud, including exclusive comments from Punk himself, check out my upcoming article on NoHoldsBarredWrestling.com about the feud. It will be posted shortly after the 9/6 show. AJ Styles is - along with Low Ki and Chris Daniels - the unofficial king of the indies. He worked for WCW before it died. He has worked in Japan's ZERO-ONE. Some of his most famous opponents include D'Lo Brown, Jeff Jarrett, Chris Daniels, CM Punk, and others. His style can be compared to that of Chris Jericho and Edge. Homicide is similar to New Jack in that he's from the hood and likes cutting people open with forks, but unlike New Jack, he can wrestle VERY WELL. His past rivals include Steve Corino and Trent Acid. His style can be compared to Chris Benoit. Samoa Joe is fat, but he can wrestle quite well. He's similar to Chris Benoit in style. He uses lots of suplexes and submission holds. Mark Briscoe is a great wrestler, and so is Jay. Their styles are similar to Brian "Spanky" Kendrick.
