XPW/CZW stars and lucha legends unite

Oh, I forgot to mention - I know there's someone on here who has said they're a big Pogo the Clown fan. I don't remember who, but for whoever they are, one note about the show is that Pogo made an appearance and beat up Cyanide. I don't think he's making a full-time return, from what he's told me - it's probably just a one-a-month thing where he'll work for FCW. I don't think he's going to be wrestling for any other promotions, although I could be wrong.

There were about 2,000 people at the show. Looks like their LA Times ad worked out well. Full results are up at the board on SoCalUncensored.com.

The following stuff I’m willing to trade (or, for the right price, sell), although do be aware that I won't be able to send them out for a week or two, as I have a lot of deals in the works and want to wait until those tapes arrive until I send out anything else. Tapes I want to sell or trade off

Nah, not really. I have the TNA show and I have most ROH shows already. Sorry. It's just I gotta be particular about what I trade for these days because I too am low on money and can't afford to buy much, so the stuff I have to trade I wanna trade for the stuff I really need.

    Tons of retro Sabu questions

I'm doing a big project about Sabu's career and am in the midst of research. The following questions I am unable to find answers to, so I figured I'd ask if anyone here can help. Sorry the list of q's is so long, but I figure it might as well throw out all the ones I have and if anyone can help, feel free to post what you know. I'm hoping nobody flames me to just buy the tapes and find out for myself. That's not always easy when the matches I ask questions about below are all found on 100 different tapes and money isn't exactly flowing forth freely for me to spend. So, absolutely any and all help would be appreciated. So, I guess just scroll through and if anything catches your eye that you can provide insight on, post it. Even if you only know like half a question, that'd be great. You could also PM me answers if you'd prefer. Thanks in advance for any help I get. Did Sabu and Benoit have any other matches in the US besides their ECW matches and their 2/19/94 NWA match in Woodbury, NJ? Did Sabu appear at any of the JCW StrangleMania Tour 2000 and 2001 shows? I know he did the 2002 and 2003 events, but about the 2000 and 2001? For what promotion was his 10/10/93 match vs. Jerry Lynn? Who won his Big Japan debut vs. Jason Knight? Who won his Sabu’s Michinoku Pro match vs. Terry Boy and his Michinoku Pro match vs. Jerry Lynn? Who won the NWC Lumberjack Match between Sabu and Cactus? Who won his 10/8/94 NWC match vs. Bob Bradley? Any promotion, date, location, or result other info for his match vs. Madman Pondo (he’s only worked Pondo once, right?)? Does anywhere on the Internet have archived NWC results from Las Vegas? Where can I find a Title History of the NWC Heavyweight Title? What was the date, promotion, and/or result of his match vs. Adam Gooch that was supposedly in front of 8,000 people? Anyone have dates, results, or any other info for his 1995 NWC title defenses vs. Cactus Jack in a Desert Death Match and vs. Cactus in a Weapons Cage Match? Who won the AAA (and it was a AAA match, wasn’t it? Or not?) six-man in ’95 between Sabu, Psichosis, & Damian 666 and Rey Mysterio Jr., Halloween, & Starman? Does anyone know who pinned who? Who won the 5/15/94 Oriental Death Match between Funk and Sabu? Who won the 10/28/95 Woodbury, NJ classic between Sabu and Devon Storm? Who won the 1/29/94 NWA match between Ray Odyssey and Sabu? Who won the 4/8/94 Ohio showdown between Al Snow and Sabu? (this was the night before the epic Funk/Snow/Sabu match, if that helps) Who won the 6/29/96 Tokyo Pro match between Sabu and Scorpio? Who won their 8/25/96 Tokyo Pro match (in this one, Sheik accompanied Sabu)? What was the result of his 3/29/97 match in California vs. Dan Severn? Who won the 6/3/94 match between Sabu and Scorpio, and what promotion was the match for? Who won the 11/6/93 ACW match between Funk and Sabu (their first one-on-one match ever)? Who won the 11/14/92 WWA Jr. Title Wayne, NJ classic between Sabu and Candido? Who won the 2/28/94 New York City match between Sabu and Funk for the World Wrestling Network? For anyone who has the 1991 MEMPHIS YEARBOOK tape, who wins the Sabu vs. Robert Fuller match in USWA? For what promotion was his 9/27/02 Steel Cage Match in Michigan vs. Sandman and who won? Any info whatsoever about an old tag match between Sabu & Mohammed and Al Snow & Mike Kelley? Who else did Sabu work in Tokyo Pro besides Scorpio and Abby – anybody? Do I have the date of 7/19/03 right for Sabu’s AWWL match vs. Devon Storm where Kevin Sullivan and Balls Mahoney got involved? Do I have the date of the next night, 7/20/03, for Sabu’s AWWL match vs. Balls Mahoney where Mr. Hughes got involved right? Did Sabu ever work Konnan one-on-one besides at the John Arezzi ’93 show and the 2002 MXPW match they had? Anyone know the date – or even the year – of Sabu’s match with Kama (Charles Wright/The Godfather)? I know the result and all, but that’s it. Were his overseas matches vs. Ulf Herman and his tag with RVD vs. Ulf Herman & Michael Kovac the same night or different nights? If they were different nights, what was the date of each and if they were the same night, what was the date? I’m also searching for any dates or info on Sabu’s matches with Aquarius (masked Tajiri) in Japan. Need dates, hell…even just years, for the following matches: WWC vs. Don Kent WWC vs. TNT (a.k.a. Greg Bownds of the AWF), KCW vs. Dave the Rave KCW vs. Flash Flanagan KCW: w/ RVD vs. Tommy Dreamer & Mike Samples Is it true that Sabu worked Liger on 7/23/95? If so, who won and what promotion was it (NJ, I'd assume?)? I have conflicting info for Sabu's role on 11/18/95. I've found results to an ECW show at Viking Hall where he supposedly defeated Hack Myers, but then I'm finding tapes that list a match in Camden, NJ vs. Hakushi that same day. Does anyone know if he worked twice in that day or if one of those matches was on a different date (and if so, what date)? And also, who won the Sabu vs. Hakushi match, regardless of when it took place? Has anyone seen any of Sabu/RVD's NEWF matches and if so, what the outcomes were to any you've seen (if possible, let me know the name of the tape it's on)? Who won Sabu's 6/4/96 BJPW match vs. Kendo Nagasaki? Who won the final round of the April '94 GWA Bodyslammers Tournament in Ohio between Sabu and Al Snow? This was the show where Sabu went through Otis Apollo, Shinobi (Snow under a mask), and Randy Mullins to get to the final round. Found some obscure FMW matches vs. Tarzan Goto (No-Rope Barbed-Wire; 2/21/93) and vs. Dark Ranger (1/5/94). Anyone know who won either of those matches (I'm assuming Sabu beat DR because I've never heard've the guy, but if someone can confirm that that'd be great.)? Sabu did a doubleheader for NWA New Jersey in August 2000. Both nights he worked three-ways with Candido and Devon Storm. Anyone know who won either of those matches? And I'm looking for results to any of these matches, listed at Smart Mark Video: Asylum Championship Wrestling (11/23/01; Johnstown, PA): (accompanied by Bill Alfonso) vs. “Maniac” Matt Borne (semi-ME) IWF (11/25/01; Dearborn, MI): vs. Corporal Robinson Southeast Championship Wrestling (12/15/01; Lexington, KY): Hardcore Match vs. Corporal Punishment (semi-ME) IWF (12/28/01; Michigan): vs. Corporal Robinson for the vacant IWF Heavyweight Title (Steel Cage Match) Sabu did a match with a guy called Juggernaut on April 25 in Canada for No Holds Barred Wrestling, but I'm not sure if it was 2000, 2001, or 2002. Any help would be appreciated. Looking for info on any and all of Sabu's UCW Heavyweight Title defenses in 2000 (UCW = Canadian Promotion)?

    Scoot Andrews retirement statement

Communicated by Alan Wojck (sp?), this is the retirement statement from "The Black Nature Boy" Scoot Andrews. As this Saturday approaches, I am almost in a state of denial. Something that has been a part of my life for over 32 years is about to be gone. I think back to the days of going to the Jacksonville, FL Coliseum on Thursday nights to watch Dusty Rhodes, Jack Brisco, Sweet Brown Sugar, and Steve Keirn absolutely tear the house down, and dreaming of being able to put the tights and boots on and get the opportunity to perform like my heroes did. Then I fast forward to 1994 when I had my first match, and thinking to myself, "I can't believe I am actually getting the chance to actually fulfill a childhood dream. This business is like a fast spreading disease, once it gets into your blood, you really can't ever get rid of it. The crowd response to your actions, the camaraderie in the dressing room, and the opportunity to travel all over the country doing what I love will be what I miss more than anything. Joey Matthews told me once, "Wrestling, you will never love another..". And he was so right. I played football for 14 years and did not feel the anxiety that I am now feeling, when the time came to walk away. Joey was wrong on one account, I actually do love my wife and daughter (and in 6 weeks my second daughter) more than wrestling, which is why I am deciding to "hang them up". It is now time for me to be a father, and not run all over the country fulfilling my dream. It is now time for me to facilitate my kids fulfilling theirs. For the last 11 years, I have come in contact will a lot of characters! Some good, some not so good. But the first "character" I want to thank would be the man who took me under his wing and showed me the ropes, and that man is Hack Meyers. While Hack has done many a thing to perpetuate his reputation in this business, one thing that a lot of people don't know about him, is that he is an awesome individual once you get past the "gimmick" Hack. He did not have to take the time to help me out, but he did. And for that I am eternally grateful! Christopher Daniels is another person I would like to single out. Not only has the "Fallen Angel" been one of my greatest adversaries, he has definitely become one of my closest friends. The list of wrestlers that I respect and enjoy working with is very long, but here are the names of the guys that I feel are not just wrestlers, but my friends: Lex Lovett, Antonio Banks, Danny Doring, A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, Low Ki, Bryan Danielson, Simon Diamond, CM Punk, the Shane Twins, Michael Shane, Mideon, Buck Quartermaine, Chris Chetti, Homicide, Danny Maff, Spanky and Chris Nelson. I will miss all of these guys a lot. Some of the names in the WWE that I will miss being around are: Bubba Ray, Spike, Devon, Coach, Paul London, Nunzio, Charlie Haas, Kevin Kelly and Tomko. As we all know, not every promoter is worth mentioning but there are 3 that I would like to thank for giving me the platform to actually "be somebody" in this business. They are Jim Kettner (ECWA, Super 8), Gabe Sapolsky (Ring of Honor), and Ron Niemi & Joe Price (NWA Florida/IPW). Jim, you are the greatest. Gabe, thank you for giving me the chance to be a part of ROH from the very start. To see where you have taken that promotion is phenomenal. Ron, you were the first promoter to give me a shot outside of Jacksonville when I started. I have been with you every since then, and without you, I would not have achieved anything. Next, I would like to thank each and every wrestling fan out there. Not for getting behind me and my career, but for allowing this business to continue to be around. Without your passion, this business would be nothing. Especially the fans at Ring of Honor, ECWA, and NWA Florida. The fans of these 3 groups are the best fans anywhere in the world! I loved each and every time I work(ed) for these feds, because you knew you would get fans that actually love wrestling. I love these fans! Finally, I would like to recognize the guys who will also retire with me at the end of our 3 way on Saturday, Mike Sullivan and Billy Fives. No matter where we have gone in our careers, the 3 of us always seem to parallel each other. Whether it was the Super 8, numerous dark and Velocity matches for the WWE(F), Headlining ECWA, NWA Florida, or being the top guys in the entire state of Florida, we 3 always seem to be "lumped" together. Billy you and I have wrestled, traveled, and even tried out for the WCW Power Plant (that was an experience) together. Mike, you and I have wrestled, tagged, trained, traveled, and partied together for almost all of our careers. The 3 of us have dominated Florida for almost 10 years, now we will all 3 walk away together. I am so honored to be a part of this match, that I could never have enough paper to write all of my feelings. You guys are the best, and I hope and pray that we will finish our career with a bang on Saturday night. I know deep down, that we will. We have no choice! This retirement is final. I know the "smart" fans and writers will blast this statement and say that "I will believe it when I see it" because wrestlers, generally never stay away long. But my wife and girls are the most important things to me in my life. And I will not be a father that neglects his family. I may help with a dressing room here and there, write some storylines for NWA Florida, and continue to be a fan of the sport….but you will never see me wrestle again. On Saturday, February 26, 2005, I am closing that chapter of my life. Sincerely, "The Black Nature Boy" Scoot Andrews

    Tons of retro Sabu questions

Thank you very much. I have most of those, but a couple I didn't so they were helpful. As far as the Impact results go, are the dates you provided the dates that the matches were taped or the dates that they aired?

    Tons of retro Sabu questions

Actually I do have another question jk - I thought Sabu also wrestled Ulf Herman one-on-one on the tour. Is that right? If so, do you have the date, match result, location, etc.? Also, who pinned who in the Sabu/RVD vs. Kovac/Herman tag match? Thanks a ton so far. Also, do you know anything about an IWW Clash of Nations card around the same time, that featured Sabu and I believe RVD, too? Is that where he fought Herman? I keep finding that the EWA and IWW shows occurred on the same night. I'm so confused...
