INTERVIEW: "White Trash" Johnny Webb
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Will explain later. Gotta spew out what he said or else I'll forget it all. After SCCW, Webb jumped to the UIWA, and Dan Hanson came along with him, as did Damien Steele, the Crusher/the Skullcrusher (Homeless Jimmy; he also worked in SCCW), and others. Webb first met Kaos, Supreme, and others in UIWA. Webb remembers how there was a lot of heat between the UIWA and XPW, because they both got started around the same time. After working UIWA awhile, Webb jumped to the just beginning XPW, along with Kaos, Supreme, "Phenomenal" Phil Lander (who also worked for UIWA), Kleinrock, D, and Steele. Carlos Torres was one of the only few guys at Slammers who stayed loyal to Langdon and didn't jump to SCCW, so it was only at this time that he left Slammers to join XPW. Webb remembers that XPW went absolutely balls out on advertising and hyping its first show, running TV ads, flyering nearby towns, making a beautiful program and the like. He wrestled Phil on XPW's debut show, and then worked with the late, great Big Dick Dudley twice. He remembers Dudley being a very nice guy, but didn't really say anything more than that, which was a popular trend (he was very nice, and gave extensive answers for some questions and sentence long answers for others). I just realized...I fucking forgot to ask him about Missy Hyatt. God fucking damnit. Screw me. FUCK!!!!! -
INTERVIEW: "White Trash" Johnny Webb
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Webb also met Kevin Kleinrock, Patrick Hernandez, and a few other future XPW employees while working at Slammers. Webb - who seemed very down to earth, although very laid back and "casual" at the same time - put over the Slammers schedule as very strict, just like Verne. He had to commute to Bakersfield whenever he worked a show. In Slammers, Webb was very, very tight with Homeless Jimmy and Damien Steele and looking back on the relationship, he equated their friendship to a "clique" of sorts. They were very friendly. Regarding Langdon, Webb remembers that he could look at a student and know in a moment what gimmick he wanted them to portray. He gave Webb the gimmick of Pete "Spider" Malloy, and Webb played Malloy for his entire tenure at Slammers. McMillan, Kleinrock, and Hernandez - along with a couple others - eventually broke away from Slammers in '98 and formed SCCW. Webb and a bunch of other Slammers wrestlers jumped to SCCW, which Webb reminisces ran in very small venues, such as high schools and the like. Around the same time he was working SCCW, Webb also worked a few Impact Wrestling Federation shows, which is where he first met Brian Walthers a.k.a. "Dirty" Dan Hanson, who he formed a tag team called "Trailer Trash" with. I'm hoping to have Walthers contribute some of his memories of teaming with Webb for my upcoming XPW retrospective, although it's not set in stone yet. Webb also met Gary Key a.k.a. TOOL at the IWF, which he remembers he didn't stay with ALL that long, but did work several of their shows. It was in the IWF that Webb met "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, TOOL, The Ballard Brothers, and other notables. -
The topic says it all. I'm looking for archived TNA recaps with relatively indepth Play by Play. I know about this site (Dames Diatribe and Lazarush), Wrestling Observer, PWInsider, 411Mania.com/wrestling, PWTorch, and that there's a couple at Thecubsfan.com. Anyone know ahy other places? Thanks in advance.

I know it sometimes stands for play by play, but when it has to do with trolls and the like, it equals...help me out here...

Apparently he is. I've heard he was Dark Fuego in MLW, and USA Pro just added him to their upcoming show. Hell yeah...I can't get enough of this guy, I like him a lot more than Red and a lot of the other spot workers that get a lot of praise. He's as good if not better than them.

ROH DVDs to be in stores?
LucharesuFan619 replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in General Wrestling
To clear it up...The only associations that Kevin Kleinrock has with video companies is that he works for Extreme Associates and his own company that he co-owns with Tom Byron, Evolution Erotica...I think Mike Johnson is thinking of Xtreme Entertainment Group, which distributes the XPW and backyard wrestling DVDs...Kleinrock's not associated with them. Some of his friends are, and several of the guys who promoted XPW's Philly shows are (they hooked Josh Prohibition and M-Dogg 20 up with their current deals that let them appear in BYW games and BYW videos), but Kleinrock himself isn't. -
Credit: Larry Goodman Upcoming XPlosion dates for Wildside talent: 2/18 for Onyx; 3/3 for Todd Sexton and Terry Gordy's son, Ray Gordy Jr., who'll also be starting with MLW soon

Wierd pairing? The guy that resembles Super Dragon the most in NWA FL is Scoot Andrews. He can take it too the mat and too the air. And has some pretty innovative stuff like Scoot. I'd tend to equate Dragon more with Justice or someone like that...but don't take it from me. I haven't seen much of the recent Florida indy's stuff...all I've seen of Scoot is his Northeast work, and I hear he's done some great stuff in FL, too, that shouldn't be ignored.

Angel's challenge was answered by OG Scarface and Chaos (not the XPW one), for those interested. I must say...I don't know if it's just me, but Andrews/Dragon is a really...wierd pairing...I don't know...it'll be very good, don't get me wrong, just a wierd combo of guys...but it should be cool to see.
-
Ya, I know. I'm well aware about Behren's role in the NWA.
-
For those interested...his finishers are a pumphandle facebuster and the asiatic driver, and he also uses a spinning fisherman's suplex and a tiger suplex.

ARTICLE: BSB's depar. apparently just 1 ex. of CZW
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Thanks...and ya, hopefully Zandig will get his act together...letting the BSB leave wasn't the best of ideas that he's had. The article, BTW, can now be find on ObsessedWithWrestling.com at http://obsessedwithwrestling.com/news/lucharesufan02.html -
More fans need to do that, and more often, may I add. That's what wrestling's missing. We need more Eddie/RVD Ladder Match incidents with Crash Holly lookalikes.

Let me PM you. It's gonna be an interesting part of my upcoming XPW history piece, and I don't wanna give away too much of the info. I'll PM you in two min. with the info.

Samoa Joe vs. Vic Grimes: Match info?
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Thanks. Hey Steve, any possibility of giving me another shot on thE SCU board? -
Samoa Joe and Vic Grimes I know for a fact wrestled a 3-way match with someone else. I'm not sure of the third guy, although I'm *fairly* sure it was in UPW. I have no idea of the date or the winner or anything else about the match. There's quick clips of it on Joe's site I think, but the third guy isn't mentioned. I'm curious about the match, as anyone who reads most posts know I mark for Grimes, LOL. But anyway - if anyone knows the info about this match and could enlighten me, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you shitting me? Damn, that must've been an AMAZING show live, if you were in the front row. Talk about close up to the action...

I was referring to Inoki's shoot fighting promotion, not his wrestling promotion. I already stated that above. Few promotions have had rep.'s from his shoot fighting fed in attendance. But that's not even what I was really talking about...let me clarify. Rarely known fact, since XPW bullshitted so much of the results to their really early cards - XPW had fighters straight from Inoki's shoot promotion work a shoot match live at an XPW event. Very few, if any, promotions have had that special attraction.

Dude, you don't know the half of it. You don't know the half of it. [snickers, evily] That's what you think...

If anyone hasn't read it yet... Wait, wtf? I could've SWORN I posted this in Site Feedback...whats going on here? Did my post get moved or did I really post it here? (I said that above) So, ya...sorry about this...I don't know why I posted this here. I swear I meant to post it in Site Feedback. Please, don't ban me Anyway, that Ballston pic rules...

Thanks. Sorry. Just was exploring this forum, and the term is mentioned a lot...it did say, though, to read the FAQ pinned thread before posting any questions, and since that thread is in this forum, I figured this is the right forum for any questions...sorry if its not, however. EDIT: Wait, wtf? I could've SWORN I posted this in Site Feedback...whats going on here? Did my post get moved or did I really post it here?

His brother died years ago in a car crash. His mom died about 8 or nine years ago from cancer. His dad died just recently also from cancer.
-
Nah, it doesn't have a name when it's used by B-Boy. Technically it's a Spinning Canadian Back Rack DDT. John Walters also uses it and he calls it the Hurricane DDT, though, since is nickname is "Hurricane" JW.
-
Ruckus was really responsible for bringing Gargiulo in...they met back in '98 when Ruckus was still doing backyard shit.

Magee took Derek Sobato's results, slightly edited them, added some stuff, and posted them without giving any credit to him. Asshole. And his "650" attendance figure completely contradicts what we were hearing last night. I'm too lazy to go on the CZWfans board right now, so does anyone know what people at the show were saying attendance was? CZW STILL have Backseats listed in the 3-way up, and never bothered to change it. Five hot pokers up the webmaster's ass for such blatant false advertising. Don't get on my ass for saying that either, because that beats anything XPW did. I haven't read the results that carefully, so I'll add my thoughts later.
