  1. We wanted to let everyone know about Alan Carnill AKA Beetlejuice / Eddie Rochr Who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Kansas on 1-25-04. Everyone else is doing well with cuts & bruises besides Daina who has broken her back & was transported back here to Colorado. Please pray for her safe recovery & for the recovery of everyone else involved, especially mentally. This is a tremendous loss. J.J Perez, Bobby Quance

If you've seen Sonjay Dutt, Quance is like him, only a better mat wrestler and just as good a high flyer. Never heard've Perez.

    Super Dragon in ROH!

RevolutionPro.com: Rev Pro superstar Super Dragon will be making his Ring of Honor debut on March 13th in Elizabeth, NJ at the Rex Plex. His opponent hasn't been named yet, but be sure to check it out if you are in the Jersey area! Who should he wrestle? styles? Sonjay? A Briscoe?

    Question

Someone should be able to answer this, because it's sure as hell confusing me. Maybe Barnett, since he's a lawyer. Whoever, though, feel free to enlighten me, as I'm confused how - according to 3PW's latest PR, Stevie Richards' appearance won't be on the video of their upcoming show since he's a WWE contracted wrestler, yet Al Snow, Jerry Lawler, Tommy Dreamer, etc. can appear on indy tapes from JAPW and ROH no problem. It makes like no sense, at least to me...

    Mega XPW Merchandise Blowout Sale

XPWrestling.com for more info. $10 for a DVD/VHS is a pretty good deal, and so are the other prices. I may have to get me some stuff as a belated X-Mas present...

    Finishers in the WWE

The old version of the 5 was a Fireman's Carry into a DDT. To make it safer, though, Brock has modified it into a Fireman's Carry Inverted DDT. The Fireman's Carry Diamond Cutter = the TKO, used by Marc Mero, Jerry Lynn, Nick Berk (occasionally), The Messiah (spinning version - The Godsmack), and others. Test Drive/Last Rites/Roll of the Dice/Hero's Welcome/No Joke/Idolizer - Inverted Swinging Neckbreaker

    US Indy Dream Matches

Yes, he can be sloppy and very spotty, but let's face it - he has the talent to redefine aerial wrestling, and he's doing a pretty good job of it. When he returns, hopefully they'll bring him back to Japan and he'll crispen his skills over there more. He's really good, man, even if he is sloppy/spotty sometimes. A few more: AJ Styles vs. Mike Quackenbush (one of the most underrated workers in wrestling) Chris Candido vs. Owen Hart (did it ever happen?) Nova vs. HBK Balls Mahoney vs. Mick Foley (did it ever happen in SMW?) "Iceman" John Black (Westside NGZ's Chronic in XPW) vs. Homicide Juvi vs. Taka Michinoku (did it ever happen?) Nosawa & either Masada or Mitsunobu Kikuzawa vs. Taka & Funaki

    (ARTICLE) 3PW: Nostalgia never dies...

WOW, suddenly I'm in a really good mood. I got on the bad side of the very cool peeps over at the Oratory a.k.a. QuiettStormm.com/forums (the forums of RajahWWF.com) because in their' Columnists Corner forum, I regularly posted that NoHoldsBarredWrestling.com Indy Newsletter I used to write, and didn't know that they strictly prefer columns, over newsletters. Then when I posted this over there, the first guy ("northvan") to reply gave me a really good response: "While some in the forum had considered some of your previous posts nothing more than advertisements, I believe the quality of this column might persuade some of your detractors to reconsider. Professional quality promo piece. You were able to highlight some of the cards matches through an examination of the federations' past and by questioning the long-term implications of recycling the ECW-ethos at the expense of original work. Good job."

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Royal Rumble 2004

Sweet. Can't wait to read the Flair review. Found this as I was reading the diatribe... I think you mean HHH, LOL.

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Royal Rumble 2004

You mean, I stay up late to do a bunch of homework, only to have you work harder than me by getting up your classic rant only a few hours after the show? Sweet. Gotta love Dames. He's our Sugar Daddy... DVDR also has a thread about how hot Victoria looked. I guess I'll have to get me some screencaps ASAP...

    Mega XPW Merchandise Blowout Sale

Do you know which show it was on? I didn't get the Philly TV shows, so I don't know which one it was on...I don't know if he'd know what I'm talking about, since he's taken a bunch of sick bumps before.

    Submit questions

I'll be conducting a phone interview with former-XPW World Heavyweight Champion Johnny Webb in a few days, and I think I pretty much got all the stuff I need, questions covering his entire career. However, I'm open to any questions anyone wants to submit to be asked...no need to post stuff about how he got into the business, why he left XPW, etc....that'll all be covered. But any of the non-obvious stuff, feel free to post your questions for. Thanks.

    Mega XPW Merchandise Blowout Sale

It wasn't fantastic, but it also wasn't a mess. Some bumps never seen before in Ladder Matches. Good stuff. Just not great. Grimes' match and the MMW match is worth the price of the tape/DVD alone. The 3-way is one of the best non-ROH 3-ways the indy circuit saw in 2003, and the MMW match is absolutely fantastic, too. Juvi/Chetti is also underrated.

    Mega XPW Merchandise Blowout Sale

Redemption, Hostile Takeover, HIH2, LOD, and BIB3 are all must haves. They're all really good, and quite frankly I'm not sure which 2 are the best. They're all really good. Exit Sandman and Fallout are about the only tapes to find their recent Philly stuff, which may never be released, so those are possibilities, too, but those 5 I mentioned are the best they have, a lot better than the two you mentioned you already have. In random news, I saw a guy with the classic Webb "Fried chicken and ass kickin" t-shirt at the 8/16 ROH show.

I'll add the how did the gimmick come about and the Jimmy/GFY one to my list. Veronica never managed him. They dated for awhile in real life, but she never managed him. She was with the Enterprise, he with the Black Army. Jessica Darlin managed him for awhile. He and she had some of the funniest segments I've ever seen in wrestling...period, not just XPW, but period. They were perfect together when it came to comedy.

    (ARTICLE) 3PW: Nostalgia never dies...

Sorry to bump this again, but for those interested, this article has been posted on the mega popular ObsessedWithWrestling.com, which I regularly contribute to. It can be found at http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/news/...aresufan01.html . And as a quick plug...in the past two months, OWW has focused big time on updating and making new indy bios/profiles. A lot of new info has been put into the AJ Styles, Chad Collyer, and Bryan Danielson. Coming soon are major updates/additions for B-Boy, Super Dragon, Sabu, Mikey Batts (Billy Kidman's cousin), Altar Boy Luke, and a bunch of misc. IWA-MS guys, whose profiles I admit are somewhat lacking. Any other feedback/comments/and especially criticism to help improve feature articles I write are more than welcomed.

    (ARTICLE) 3PW: Nostalgia never dies...

No argument there. You got a point. I've never seen O'Doyle, so I didn't mention him, but the only real guy that they've made into a legit star is Matt Striker, since they've given him the mic and he's absolutely shined, whereas in his previous feds (PWF Northeast, etc.), he was never given a chance to talk. Surprised to hear how bad Joey/Styles was. I was expecting it to be good. And Wifebeater/Wolfe...only 2 min.? LOL.
  19. I don't like the idea of having a Strong Style tournament in CZW in the first place, but if I could add some guys to it, it'd be any of these guys: Nick Berk, Josh Daniels (vs. Berk), BJ Whitmer, and most of all, Josh Prohibition.

Wrestlers with the perfect theme music

DX, Austin, Sandman, Shane Douglas, Sabu's XPW theme ("Firemass," by Danzig).
  21. It was bound to be posted sooner or later, and let's face it - with 2003 almost over, we've seen the good, the bad, and the downright ugly developments in that God damned world called "independent wrestling" that us assholes support. We've seen the rise of "The Original Playa from the Himalaya," Sonjay Dutt, a West Coast star gain East Coast prominence in B-BOY~!, a skinny teenager go from being the XPW King of the Death Match to becoming one of the most awe-inspiring high flyers on the indy circuit today in Altar Boy Luke, US-modified strong style in Jimmy Rave, Homicide, Tony Mamaluke, and others, and probably the most impressive of all - the Chris Jericho-mirroring transcension (is that a word?) of AJ Styles from a WCW cruiserweight to the absolute ***MAN***...the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. So, the question naturally develops... Which workers do you think will break out from their shell in 2004, and become a major highlight of the indy circuit? Here's my pics... Quicksilver/Scorpio Sky: lit up Rev. Pro, PWG, XPW, and LXW rings; can wrestle a variety of styles Rob Eckos, Damian Adams, and Josh Daniels: this trio is so set to break out in '04; they've been impressive in 3PW and other promotions, and their time is most certainly now Salvatore Rinauro and Kid Kool a.k.a. Seth DeLay - Wildside lightweights who - like Slim J, Deranged, Azriel, and others have done - are set to make an impact on other promotions Steve Stone - IWA-MS rookie who had a breakout match with Chris Hero recently; expect big things The Havana Pitbulls: defy gravity every time they step foot in the ring; lighting up So-Cal rings; work CMLL on a regular basis; Puma/Pinoi Boy set to debut for ROH; all four debuting in MLW Altar Boy Luke - I mentioned him above, and yes he did break out in 2003, but since he's been kept off TNA TV, the only promotion he's really worked for is Wildside. He just returned to TNA in a dark match last Wednesday, and I expect he'll be continuing to work for them; expect from him more than just a short stay in TNA, because he likely may become a mainstay in the X Divison Arik Cannon - debuted in CZW; said to have put on some great matches in IWA-MS with Chris Hero Angel - former-XPW "Hardcore Homo"; became arguably the bumper of the year with his death matches in XPW and LXW with Supreme; currently works for Rev. Pro and other So-Cal promotions, and has put on fantastic tag team matches alongside Zokre and Mr. Excitement and has wrestled great one-on-one matches with others Nick Berk/Z-Barr - debuting in the UK next year; debuted in Wildside recently, and are set to return; they're unfortunately not being paid much attention to in their home promotion, CZW, but other companies seem to be taking notice; Berk is one of the most underrated technical wrestlers on the indy circuit today. The D.R.S. - debuted in CZW recently; mainstays in JAPW and USA Pro, where they've had tremendous matches with The S.A.T.; expect more Tracy Smothers-style heel heat to be generated by them in 2004 All Money Is Legal (Kash & Kaos); not the XPW Kaos; have arguably the coolest finisher on the indy circuit; as the DOI guys will tell you, have been lighting up WXW, NYWC, etc. rings as of late; working also for LXW Grim Reefer - first guy in wrestling history ANYWHERE to use the satellite headscissors into crossface takedown that Jimmy Rave now utilizes regularly; as the DOI guys will tell you - just now getting the attention he deserves; worked for CZW, although he wasn't allowed to showcase his true skills there; has been lighting up USA Pro, NYWC, and other rings; fantastic lightweight Add to the list!

    ICP's site says they're debuting

http://www.insaneclownposse.com/low.php?wp_id=NEWS WTF is TNA thinking? Hey all of you Juggalos and Juggalettes, we know that all of you out there are huge into the murderous mayhem that happens every day in the squared circle of sports entertainment. I'm talking about wrestling; hard knocks, power slams, high flying suicide flips... the works! We know all of you are into it because we see you on the TV, reppin' the hatchet at every show, at every venue... espescially on NWA-TNA! We see you all on NWA-TNA every week and the time for watching you show the Hatchet Family love on TV is over... it's time to take part in it! To be there, in person, with all of those Juggalos and Juggalettes that are crazy down with the madcap action that we all love so much. So, on Wednesday the 21st, every Juggalo wrestling fan in the Nashville, Tennessee area will definately want to get to the NWA-TNA Pay-per-View Event at the Asylum to take part in the biggest Psychopathic Tailgating Party that ever existed! Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, and the Rude Boy are all going to be heading on down to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds early for the event, and they want all of the Hatchet Family to be there with them! Bring all your drinks and snacks; the Insane Clown Posse and the Rude Boy are bringing theirs, as well as a few shirts they'll be tossing out to the homies that want to take part in this mini-gathering of wrestling fanatics! As I said, the time for watching is over... come on down on the 21st of this month and hang with ICP, the Rude Boy, and all of your homies, get your snacks on, take a few photos, and have a blast way before the madness and the mayhem of the Pay-per-View even starts! It's going to be insane! Rudeboy in TNA...That's also gonna be wierd. He's like a Madman Pondo clone.
