How did they have them up one day after the show occurred? Did they bring a webcam to the show? B/c CZW specifically states no video cameras are allowed. So, how did they even gain access to the clips? SMV didn't release the clips to the public this soon. I'm really mixed up. How could they have gotten them so quickly?

WOW, thanks for the positive response. I'm working on card for the upcoming CZW doubleheader show in January, you'll prolly be happy to know. Any other comments (I know it's after the show, but how do you think it compared to the real show?) anyone have?

Ya, at least XPW had wrestling. From the aforementioned music video, I'm left wondering... How exactly Lucha Va Voom categorize as wrestling? I mean, for every porno segment, XPW had like 20 matches. This looks like a ratio of 1:1 or something, jeez...

2 TIDBITS: AMW win Apter Award and...
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in TNA Wrestling
ROH is more innovative. Hell, CZW, dare I say it even *XPW* (bringing in Jonny Storm regularly and all the shit they did with international talent), was more innovative this year than TNA. This is one award I'm relaly confused about. -
Tonight, or tomorrow by the time this is posted, was the end of an era in wrestling. While most of the NJ/Philly area was either at the 5th installment of CZW’s Cage of Death or in Rahway watching Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles in JAPW, I saw the end of a fantastic career only about 45 minutes away from both. One of my favorite performers, and one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met outside the ring, retired. “Dirty” Don Montoya hung up his boots after about 10 years, and most people were none the wiser. Don was the first in-studio guest that I had on The Wrestling Fiasco (not surprising because at that time the show was on from 9-10 on Saturday Mornings). A few times he woke up and drug in a half awake Reckless Youth. All in all I’m pretty sure Don was on our show at least 15 times, and blew away even the closest runner-up’s with the most appearances. From his work with Colby, to the “East Coast Invasion” of the Mid-west with Reckless and Simon Diamond, to the infamous exploits of the Black T-shirt Squad with Reckless and Mike Quackenbush, Don’s led an interesting career. Montoya was one of my favorite guys to watch because he could make just about anyone look good. My favorite matches of him, of ALL the countless ones I’ve seen, are his bouts with none other than Colby Corino, Steve Corino’s son. If Colby follows in his father’s footstep, he can always proudly say that his first win was over Don while about 300-400 fans cheered him on. Their two-year feud came to an end tonight as they teamed up to fight Reckless Youth and Dave Patera in what was Don’s last match. Hell, I even paid a guy at work $20 to let me out early so I could make it to the show and watch it. Don always ended up getting into tirades whenever on TWF. My favorite segment was Don’s first appearance. The first one ended with Don Montoya begging Vince McMahon, if he was listening of course, for a job. The reason Don was so adamant was because Don felt that he knew what the WWE needed in order to get the popularity it once had. Fat guys. Don’s simple formula was Fat Guys=Ratings. He cited the WWE’s highest ratings ever were when Paul Barer and Mic Foley were on almost every show. He than talked about when WCW was in its horrendous ratings slide, and Dusty Rhodes came on for a few shots, and the rating jumped higher that WCW had seen in a looong time. Tonight, though, that all ended. Don quietly bowed out, on a charity show in Pemberton hosted by the UWC. For myself and a few of his friends it was no surprise. I’ve known for about a month, and I’ve really been waiting to hear about it for about a year. I’m going to miss Don at the UWC charity shows, and when I saw him in the Jersey feds. I’m hoping that this is a Terry Funk-esq retirement. If not though, as Don said tonight right after his match -- History Has Been Made! Reckless Youth, one of Don’s best friends, when asked about Don’s retirements said, “It’s been a pleasure to work with and travel with him. I was with him when he started, and I saw him grow. It’s sad to see him leave. It also sucks because know I don’t have him to pay all my tolls and gas and drive me to the shows.” On a personal note, without Don, TWF wouldn’t have been as fun as it was. With Don’s retirement, I am announcing the official end to The Wrestling Fiasco radio show. I am tired of the politics of 88.9. Without Ben, or Don, it’s not the same. I hope to have the money to bring it to another station someday. But, on January 4th, it will be launching as a news site. Myself, Bob Magee, and a few others will be posting columns. Hopefully Montoya will throw in a couple here and there. Until then… So Be It!. -Mike PS: ANY wrestler or promoter with stories of Don, I am doing a better write up in a week. Please email me at [email protected] if you wish to have yours included. Also, ANYONE with ANY feedback on my column feel free to email also! Great review. I think this one was the best of the recent batch of reviews you did. Sounds like a great show that hasn't gotten the press it deserves, too.

It makes perfect sense - NOI2 was a CZW show. Sandman made a hype thread about the show, a few days before it occurred, and then posted the PBP as it happened. As I said - that's the difference - that he posted em as the show happened, as opposed to after. The argument here is whether or not you would've gotten the same responses as you did here if you had posted it in the other thread, and I maintain you would, as I so concisely explained in my previous post. Ummm...duh. It's pretty obvious you posted the results here. Nobody's arguing about that. What I'm arguing is that you should've posted them in the other thread, because they would've gotten the SAME number of responses as this thread got, which is a lot, and that's evident by just going back and looking at the NOI2 thread, which got lots of responses when it posted the results, even though it's title said it was only a hype thread. Yes, so as you say there - there ARE situations where members, not just mods, have the right to complain. THIS is one of those situations, just like double-posting results would be. So, I DO have the right to complain, despite not being a mod, because you did something unreasonable, and could've gotten the SAME results from doing it and in the process conserving bandwidth. Dude, we're on a different page, I think. You wouldn't have HAD to double post the results. You didn't NEED to make this thread that you're reading right now. What I'm suggesting is that you just post the results in the preview thread, like what was done with NOI2. You didn't MAKE a double post. If you made a double post, you would've posted the results in the preview thread, too, which I don't think you did (I may be wrong, I'll check now and make sure and if I am wrong, I'll edit this post). Yes, and what you could've done is compiled those same posts, took what you posted in this thread, and posted it in the other thread. As I explained in my previous reply and you didn't respond to, the same responses likely would've came if you posted the results in the other thread. Can I say this FOR SURE? No, because it didn't happen. But judging from evidence of similar, past threads (like NOI2), the same results would've came. Look, I'm not up to debating the issue. I'm happy to agree to disagree. It's not a big deal. I apologized for being SOMEWHAT harsh, but I maintain that the general premises that I took were right. On the other hand, you maintain your position. Nothing is going to change. Let's just agree to disagree.

My question - Frank needs to be clearer in press releases. You can buy more than one month of shows, right? As he says it, it's not really too clear. And do you have a choice of what shows (and therefore the matches that are on them) you get, if you get more than one month? I can always email Frank, cuz I have a really good relationship w/ him (did an interview awhile back that's on ObsessedWithWrestling.com), but I'd like to find out if anyone knows w/ out having to contact him.

True indeed, and actually in Jack's defense - at LEAST when he shoots he does it in style (i.e. his EPIC rant, specifically his diction in describing Messiah's shinaling w/ Lizzy B.). Although we're both probably the biggest XPW marks around these parts, (Douglas being a former, and actually their current [LOL], champ) I think both myself and EMAX can wholeheartedly agree that Shane needs to find a new style in shooting, because he's so damn repetitive. At least Jack keeps coming up with new jokes to use when shooting. - Barber, a.k.a. a guy who thinks when done right, shooting in wrestling can be so damn cool
-
Yes, I remember him "shooting" on SMW in ECW. Something about Cornette being a rasict... Ahhh...shit...not good for the black OVW guys. Orlando Jordan must've been lucky. Please...Jack really has to realize he's doing nobody - including himself - any good by shooting so often. It gets to the point where it's not shooting anymore - it's just simple bitching, and nobody hates bitching more than wrestling fans.
-
Well, for starters, Johnny Storm is not very good. Even as far as spot-guys go, he is not that great and certainly nothing that gets me excited. I could think of two dozen or more guys who i'd rather see in that position. I like the concept of a two day tag team tournament because I am a fan of tournaments as it is and tag tournaments in particular since they are a rarity. The lineup looks good, just not mind blowing or anything. That's probably because I don't get into all the B-Boy, Johnny Storm, Messiah, and Super Dragon love as much as everyone else. Not that they are all bad, but they don;t come off as "mind blowingly good" to me. Everything else looks real good though. The show should be good and a lot of fun, I just don't get all the excitmenet over some of the individual wrestlers that have been announced. Jimbo already said what I'd say above in response to the assertion that Storm isn't very good, so I'm not going to really address that, but instead just add that he works well with guys of any size - his matches with guys of different styles like Daniels, Doug Williams, Storm, Lynn, Ki, Spanky, Barker, Xavier (the FWA one), and all the Japanese guys he's worked with prove that. Him coming to So-Cal would also give the So-Cal indy circuit some much-needed promotion. That's another benefit, so is ask again - why are we the only two people marking out like motherfuckers, LOL? The tourney sounds mad awesome, although like mentioned, Messiah/Daniels - while a cool vision of both guys in the ring at the same time - really shouldn't be teaming.

Ummm...actually, YES, it DID have indepth results like this and it DID put all the posts from czwfans together into one long thread. No, it didn't, not like this one, I read through that one, and there were links to the live PBP, but the other thread had NO posts from Ryan Smith, the guy who did the PBP. And the last time I checked you weren't a moderator here, so stop acting like one. Oh, my bad. When you said "other," I thought you meant the NOI2 thread, which like I said DID have indepth results. Granted, that was because Sandman was posting them as they occurred, but still, the results were there. That difference plays a part, though, so like I explain below, I can see where you're coming from, although overall I still disagree. Whether or not the other one had better discussion doesn't matter, because when you posted the full results, those who were going to post their thoughts on this thread would've posted it there. The same discussion would've taken place, don't give me that crap. People would've been talking about New Jack, they would've been talking about the show-stealing Ca$h/Joker match, etc. The reason they didn't in the other thread was almost assuredly because so many didn't KNOW the full results until you posted it there, but they would've if you posted them in the other thread, too. I really don't have a prob with you posting this thread, I guess I was a bit too harsh, I'll admit that, but I still think it would've been a better idea to just post it in the other thread. This question just popped into my head, and I'm curious. He's shot on EVERY other major promotion that he's worked for - ECW, XPW, EPIC, TNA (add in any more I forgot) - but does anyone know if Jack has majorly shot on Smokey Mountain? I don't remember him ever really doing so, so I'm curious - if he didn't that'd be about the only major promotion he's worked for he hasn't really shot on. LOL. You've made asinine judgments before, but this takes the cake. What crap - if I made the mistake of posting results when they had already been posting and going like, "CAGE OF DEATH RESULTS!" when they were already in another thread, or something like that, I would've gotten heat with people saying that I wasted bandwidth. As a regular at this board (more so than yourself), I have the right to criticize you for posting something that wasn't in the board's best interest. Whether or not I'm right is up for consideration, as I state above. Don't give me any shit like that statement.
-
They're the same people who put over the Homicide/B-Boy match as being a CZW MOTY candidate the next day after it happened when in reality it was a considerable letdown. But agreed - the match from the PBP sounds pretty damn good.
-
Why in the fuck are we the only two people marking out like motherfuckers after hearing that JONNY STORM, CHRIS HERO, HOMICIDE are coming to PWG and Messiah is teaming with Daniels, Joe?
-
Ummm...actually, YES, it DID have indepth results like this and it DID put all the posts from czwfans together into one long thread.

CZW Cage of Death 5 this Saturday in Philly!
LucharesuFan619 replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
You'll also likely be amused to learn of the "strong-style" tournament that CZW is promoting to begin at it's next show. Take that for what it's worth. They could suceed, if they do it right, but I don't like the fact that Rave won't be in it, since he'll be defending his title vs. Shelley. I'm hoping for a six-man pitting Chri$ Ca$h, Deranged, & Sonjay Dutt vs. Azriel, Joker, & Ruckus. It damn sure makes sense, unlike so much of the other stuff CZW has been doing lately. -

Florida Indy Stars working upcoming dark matches

Yeah, absolutely. Thanks for being so understanding. And LMAO @ the pics. -
The Torch is reporting that The Shane Twins (Mike & Todd) will be getting tryout matches this Monday and Tuesday at RAW and SmackDown!. They worked for TNA as The Johnsons (remember, the penis guys?) and have also competed for CZW, NWA-FL, and the recently-folded IPW Hardcore. Oh, and on 11/29, Mike worked the WWC supercard in Bayamon, Peurto Rico, teaming with fellow Florida star Steve Madison vs. Thunder & Lightning for the WWC Tag Team Titles. These guys are damn big, BTW. Doesn't surprise me, considering how we all know McMahon *LOVES* big dudes.
