I didn't start a flame war here. Did I begin the confrontation? Yes. I threw a non personal insult out there, but what I got was about 20 personal insults. But the flaming didnt start till Mike posted - who made the first post 30+ line response in this thread? Not me. EMAX, your story means *nothing*. Somebody can be nice to some people and be an asshole to others-its a fact. You werent at the 8/16 show. I was. He was, too. So, you wouldnt know. Being a nice person doesn't mean sitting down next to someone for no reason and telling them that they're an asshole. Your cool with me and I hope vice versa, EMAX, but your logic is pretty poor here. And youre contradicting yourself. Your flaming me for no reason, so dont expect anybody to take anything you say in that post seriously. Ummm...why wouldnt I? The guy not doing the crediting here is Mike. You learned? Your flaming me in this very post. EMAX, u didnt need to post that response. You had no part in the discussion and instead jumped in to add to the several vs. one offense. Your testimony has no part here b/c of the immense # of flaws in it. Youre doing the same thing your criticizing me for doing.

CREDIT: ROHWrestling.com and RFVideo.com Ring Of Honor is set for its Baltimore area debut this Thursday, October 16th with a huge show in Glen Burnie, MD at Michael's 8th Avenue. ROH always makes an impact when it hits a new area so this show will be memorable!!! Attention Baltimore and Washington D.C.- this event is just a short drive from both locations so don't miss your chance to experience ROH live. There will be $15 general admission tickets at the door and the show starts at 8pm. For info and directions go to the Upcoming Events section of ROHwrestling.com or call 215-891-9404. Michael's 8th Avenue is located on 7220 Grayburn Dr in Glen Burnie MD 21061 and their phone number is 410-766-7474. RF Video will be there with a full merchandise table including Shoot Interviews with Jeff Hardy, Jim Cornette, Terry Funk, Raven, Steve Corino, Justin Credible and many others!!! ROH's 8/16/03 "Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies" tape will be released. This one features a match of the year candidate bloodbath pitting Homicide vs. Steve Corino plus more great matches including Low Ki vs. Dan Maff, Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk, Matt Stryker vs. BJ Whitmer, Chris Daniels vs. Xavier and much more!!! ROH is also releasing DVD's for the 3/15 "Expect The Unexpected" and 4/26 "Retribution: Round Robin Challenge II" shows. If you can't make the show you can order all these releases at RFVideo.com. All eyes are set on Glen Burnie this Thursday for what will be a historic show as ROH heads south of Philadelphia for the first time. Here is what's going down: ROH World Title Match: Samoa Joe defends vs. Jay Briscoe- The upstart Briscoe earned the title shot by winning a four corner survival on 9/6 that included Joe, AJ Styles and Chris Sabin. While Jay pinned Sabin, Joe has stated that he is embarrassed he didn't win the match because as ROH world champion he should win every match he is in. Joe has said that as a result he will give Briscoe a brutal beating to make him an example. Jay is not intimidated by the ROH world champion and has challenged Joe to hit him with his best shot. This one is going to be interesting and Briscoe could be one Jay-driller away from being the new ROH world champion. ROH Tag Team Title Match: The Backseat Boyz of Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere defend vs. Special K of Izzy & Dixie- This is a rematch of the finals of the tag title gauntlet on 9/20 and will mark the first ROH tag title defense of The Backseat Boyz. The issues between these two teams go way back and this one should produce an action packed, insane title bout. Special Challenge Match: Raven vs. Justin Credible- No one needs a history lesson for these two. These former world champions will lock it up for the first time one-on-one in ROH as they renew their extreme war. Both men are really looking forward to stepping in the ring against each other so this should be one that all wrestling fans will enjoy. Dream Attraction Match: AJ Styles vs. CM Punk- Do we really need to hype this one? Just look at this match up between two of ROH's biggest stars. Styles and Punk match up very evenly and this is the bout that diehard fans are paying to see. This should be wrestling at its best!!! Field Of Honor: BJ Whitmer vs. Colt Cabana- These two big men have a hard-hitting past against each other as they met in a violent, bloody brawl at ROH's "Night Of Grudges" where Cabana pinned Whitmer. Can BJ even the score. Even more importantly, both men are 1-0 in the Field Of Honor and a victory could secure the block. Field Of Honor: Chris Sabin vs. Matt Stryker- Stryker is looking to go 2-0 and Sabin wants to win his first match in the Field Of Honor. Stryker will try to use his pure wrestling skills to upset the exciting style of Sabin in this very interesting first time ever match. Field Of Honor: Dan Maff vs. Jimmy Rave- The heavy hitter of The Prophecy, Dan Maff, returns to action in his first Field Of Honor match. Can the power, head-dropping moves of Maff hand the youngster Jimmy Rave another defeat? Has Rave learned well from his lessons from AJ Styles? We'll find out Thursday!!! Four Corner Survival: Homicide vs. Xavier vs. Mark Briscoe vs. John Walters- The fact that this match is listed so far down the card shows just exactly how loaded this event is!!! Just look at the athletic talent in this one!!! Four corner survival matches almost always steal the show and with these four incredible grapplers this one should be no exception. All these men need a win to climb the top five rankings and move into title contention. Tag Team Scramble: Special K vs. Danny Doring & Josh Daniels vs. Sonjay Dutt & Slyk Wagner Brown vs. Dunn & Marcos- Maryland has never seen anything like tag team scramble action before. The unique match ups make this a completely fresh match filled with hungry competitors looking to make earn a spot in ROH. This will be high-flying, innovative action at its best!!! In addition to these great matches you'll also see Loc of the Carnage Crew, Allison Danger of The Prophecy and The Rottwielers of Julius Smokes and Slugger. ROH is looking to take the Baltimore area by storm so this is sure to be a historic and memorable event!!! Tickets available at the door!!! Looks like a packed show...the scramble will especially rule, although placing Doring in the same ring as Special K seems awkward...

You posted again, after the I edited it. So, seeing as how you had entered the thread again, its quite wierd how you happen to scroll down and not realize that the quote box has gone from several paragraphs to a couple of lines long. The reason I mentioned you was b/c you refused to credit me for breaking the news of Stryker's new alias. You admit that you just confirmed it yesterday. I've known about it for several weeks and have posted it several times in those several weeks. Maybe youre unaware, but let me fill you in - Yahoo, Newsweek, EW, and even TIME - among MANY other text and online publications - publish stories directly written by the Associated Press. Not just using the info they learned of, but actually reposting the article from the AP. They credit them. You didn't. Under your logic, you're also criticizing those reporters who I'd assume you'd respect...i.e. DVDR/PuroresuFan's Kris Z (whose daily news postings are directly quoted compilations of other site's postings). He - like myself - devotes a section at the top of his postings for sources. He doesn't credit the sites anywhere else in his postings. With my TNA news, I credit the sites. I have a section for Observer news and Torch news, along w/ random tidbits that I've gathered from a variety of sites. That's why I have a sources section...so that I don't have to post the source before every single paragraph. I know that the DVDR readers and Kris Z fans (including myself) would be quite happy to hear that you consider his postings as "alleged." I know, though, that you don't think that way about him. What you're doing is setting different standards for each wrestling reporter on the 'net, depending on who you prefer and don't. Since you don't like me, any blind man could see that youre setting different standards for me than you would for somebody else with the same credentials, yet with a different name. Your credibility sucks. Read my response again. And this time, actually READ it. Don't assume you know what it says. NEWS TO MIKE: It's already happened. And the ironic part of this situation is that this "teenager" is a far more professional reporter than yourself, Mr. E-Mail Spammer, Flamer, whatever you want to call yourself. Yes, Mike. I "started whining." LMAO. This proves the non-existence of your credibility. I'm glad to see that you were spending your time "counting the number of times [i was] writing in [my] pad instead of watching an all time classic in Steve Corino vs. Homicide." Don't you see how much you're dragging this out? This is just another example of you living in the past. Accept it - we don't like one another. We don't have to correspond. My initial statement was harsh, I decided upon reconsideration. So, I edited it. Unlike you, I have respect for others, even those I dislike. That's why you didn't see me cursing and name calling in our e-mail exchange, unlike yourself. You've failed to prove that your story about Mantel was in any way original. Hypothetically, let's say you indeed learned of it from Mr. Bauer and not from myself. Even then, you're already several weeks late in posting the news. Somehow, I don't even see that as the case. Read my response a few lines above. Again, you refuse to tell the full story. I responded because of the personal insults you inclulded. Had I known you wouldn't even have the manlihood to accept them and instead had to block them out, I would've ended it right there. If you want to fault me for that, do so. To a degree, the NWA-TNA news are cut and pastes. About half of the TNA news I post I quote, but I do credit the source. Otherwise, I don't think I've ever cut and pasted anything, except for: - quoting PTW promoter Joe Gunns in an article about himself - quoting CZW's site's news item regarding the delay of their Italian tour (the delay of which really wasn't too long, as Zandig figured everything out faster than he expected) - and a few more examples where I quote wrestlers or promoters or other wrestling employees of some sort when writing a story that they're a part of. That's the same thing any other 'net wrestling reporter does. The purpose of my news posts - along with Kris Z's and others - is to compile the weeks E. Coast indy news onto one web page, so that fans dont have to go from 1W to the Torch to NHB to PuroresuFan, etc. Its supposed to be a compilation of lots of news items, so I dont see what the problem is. I seriously don't get what all the hate for the Maximos is about. Yes, they are spot monkeys, but am I the only one who enjoys the occasional spotfest? After all, how many times do you get to see moves as cool as the Skeeledriver, the Spanish Fly, Taffy Machine, etc. They never said they were great technicians. Like the hardcore guys in IWA/CZW/MAW, they stick to what they know (besides the 2/3 falls match vs. Daniels/Morgan, which really exposed the SAT). Its too bad awesome left, but he isnt as good as he once was, so I guess losing him frees up opportunities to hire younger, better talent.
-
I didn't. Nor did I ever state that I did. Maybe if you had bothered to read my post, you'd see that I solely quoted the part about Stryker, nothing about the Maximos or Awesome. I initially quoted the entire thing, so you may have seen that and *presumed* wrongly, which wouldn't surprise me. You still seem to be insisting that I was pointing to all of the news items, as is evident by your post right above me that was made within the last few hours. If you had bothered to read my post, you'd see I was only referring to Stryker. Who's the doofus, now? You've wasted an hour or more solely on trying to prove that I never posted these items when in fact I never claimed that I did. And it all happened b/c of your unwillingness to scroll up a few lines and check out my initial post. How about you use your time more efficiently? And to think that youre trying to paint me as an idiot... I like the way you change the whole story around. What you failed to mention is my response to you where I lambasted you for the constant shit you start. It didnt surprise me that you never returned to me that night, despite constantly looking over my way during the show. Nor does it surprise me that you changed the whole story around. Learn to accept responsibility for things. You started a war with me over email and refused to accept what you got in return b/c you knew you were wrong. Now, please stop invading this board w/ needless posts. We know you rarely post here as it is. No need to come here just to bitch at me. I kept your emails, man. Would you like me to post them and show everybody your fibbing? After you refused to submit a contribution, I was fine with that and wasn't going to reply back, until I saw that you called me a "moron" in the e-mail. By doing that, you continued a discussion that could've ended right there. Considering that I was the only one in the discussion trying to keep it professional, youre trying to lie your way through your mistakes. [qupte]hat were copied directly from my live play by play report from when I was in Lauderdale covering the show for 1Wrestling.com. ...and thats why I quoted 1W, stupid. You do realize you didnt have to reply right there. I posted in order to say that I had read it, but would reply later. You didn't need to continue your diatrabe.

Sorry for the double post.

If anyone finds any more news about it (I already read hte PWBTS bit), (ie a statement by CZW or something like that) lemmee know and I'd be happy to post it too.

Official Preview for next week

I corresponded w/ him for awhile several months ago for an article I was writing and he was not only really nice, but HILARIOUS. -
Results from UIPW's WRESTLESTOCK - Saturday October 11th in Erie, PA including NEW Heavyweight champion Al B Damm wins the ‘Union Rules’ battle royal by pinning Carlton Kaz. The last two participants in this ten-man battle royal had to fight to a pinfall or submission with the winner receiving the title shot of his choice at the December 6th Union event. After tying Kaz to the ‘tree of woe’, Damm hit the ‘Coast-to-Coast’, a VanTerminator that goes from corner to OPPOSITE corner (not adjacent corner like the RVD or Shane McMahon version). Damm, showing incredible respect for his rival, chose to take the December Tag Team title shot and chose Carlton Kaz as his partner. Devil Bhudakahn and AERO! Came out of the dressing room and challenged the newly formed team to a match later in the show for their just earned title shot. Kaz and Damm accepted. ‘Amazing’ Kevin Grace pinned Adam Cage with a handful of tights. On his own once again, the All-Knighter resorted to underhanded tactics to gain the duke. After the match, Cage’s frustration got the better of him and he threatened referee Bruce Gray, until J-Rocc came to the ring and managed to calm Cage down. ‘Union Boss’ Kingdom James came to the ring to figure out what to do about the scheduled Union Tag Team title defense for the evening since he had learned that Sebastian Dark’s championship partner Shirley Doe would not be in the building that night. Dark came to the ring saying he would defend the belts alone but Kingdom would not allow it. The Grubby Holler Boys came to the ring saying that they would not be denied their title match and made some thinly veiled remarks towards Kingdom being “that certain type of person” that wouldn’t get away with taking away their title shot if they were all in Tennessee. Sebastian was then given the opportunity to choose a new partner from the official list of Union Members. Sebastian took advantage of a clerical error that had left the retired Kingdom James on the list and chose the Union Boss as his partner. Kingdom accepted and made the match a no-DQ street fight just for good measure. Al B Damm and Carlton Kaz defeated Devil Bhudakahn and AERO! The newly formed duo of Kaz and Damm came through with flying colors earning a pinfall victory in this incredible battle of Union cruiserweights to retain their shot at the Tag Team titles. Josh Prohibition pinned Raymond Right with the ‘Drunken Driver’ Prohibition recovered from a series of brutal suplexes from ‘Mr. Right’, including a triple-decker German (Prohibition had a waist lock on referee Bruce Gray and Right suplexes them BOTH!) to hit his patented double-underhook piledriver for the victory. Sebastian Dark and Kingdom James defeated Big Hungry Chuck and Big Thirsty Jake by pinfall to retain the Union Tag Team titles. In a match that involved tables, chairs, a cow bell, a noose, an axehandle, the patented Union stop sign, a Cleveland wrestling promoter and about 1000 thumbtacks being used as foreign objects, best friends (and often bitter rivals) Dark and James defeated the Grubby Holler Boys. After managing to isolate Big Thirsty Jake, Sebastian locked on the ‘Sebazmission’ (a katahajime/camel clutch combination) and Kingdom smashed Jake in the face with the stop sign. Dark then rolled Jake for the pin. Eric Xtasy pinned J-Rocc. The flamboyant Xtasy hit his patented finisher, the STD (Sexually Transmitted Driver) for the pinfall victory but J-Rocc and his new crony, Adam Cage, viciously attacked Eric after the bell. Sterling James Keenan defeated Fabulous in a ladder match to win the Keystone State Cruiserweight title. Near the end of a stunning match between the two young men, Sterling went to throw powder into the eyes of Fabulous to distract him long enough to climb the ladder and capture the belt. But Fabulous ducked the blinding cloud, which then struck the referee. Fabulous threw Sterling out of the ring, climbed the ladder and grabbed his title belt, but with the referee blinded in the corner, Keenan had time to recover, attack the hometown hero and hit his finisher, the MK Ultra onto the title belt. Sterling then grabbed the belt, climbed up two rungs of the ladder and yelled for the referee. With his eyes starting to clear from the powder, the ref saw Keenan with the belt and declared him the winner and new champion. After the match, Fabulous threw the ladder out of the ring in a fit of rage that included hitting a ‘styles clash’ on the referee. Kingdom James, having removed a sufficient number of thumbtacks from his back to appear before the crowd again, declared that Keenan, who was belligerent in victory, would defend his title December 6th against Fabulous. Kingdom said that even though he could appreciate a good ‘cheat-to-win’ scenario and had promised never to undermine any Union referee by reversing their decisions, he wouldn’t allow another travesty of justice where Fabulous was concerned and that he, Kingdom James, would referee the rematch himself. ‘Mdogg20’ Matt Cross pinned Jerry Lynn to win the vacant Union Heavyweight title. In a match so good that it received loud chants of “best match ever” and a 5-minute standing ovation at its conclusion, young upstart Cross defeated friend and mentor Jerry Lynn to become the third-ever Union Heavyweight champion. Words can barely describe how entertaining this match was to watch. Lynn, who had earlier in the day, taught a seminar to a group of young wrestlers on ring fundamentals and philosophy, took Cross to school early in the match. Mdogg not only hung on, but fought back, eventually hitting a spectacular shooting star press to gain the pin, the title and the vociferous respect of the crowd. Both men hugged in the ring as the crowd chanted for a rematch. The Union of Independent Professional Wrestlers returns to the Brookside Community Center (3502 Athens Road) in Erie, PA on Saturday night December 6th. Tickets go on sale next week at Game Time Sports Collectables (4535 Buffalo Road), American Fitness Gym (Greengarden and 38th) and online at http://www.wrestlersunion.com. All seats are $10 each. And look for information on the rescheduled “Fan Fantasy Camp” in the days ahead. Also, if you call yourself an indy wrestling fan, you really owe it to yourself to purchase at least one video from UIPW. Their videos showcase their full events and cost a whopping, inexpensive, cheap, reasonable, whatever you wanna call it TWELVE dollars. Compare that to RF Video, SMV, MLW, etc.'s prices for one tape and there's no comparison. Check out WrestlersUnion.com for more info.

If in fact this is true, it makes CZW's mistake of promoting him all the more unwarranted (up until the very day of the show, they were promoting both BSB's as being on the show on their site) because they had nearly a month of knowing that he was gone, yet continued to promote him.

So what if anyone can have a good match w/ Hero? Anyone can have a good match with Lynn and Daniels, too. "Plus when your there live you tend too think a match is better than it really is. Like Sonjay and Daniels at War Games. People were chanting "Match of the Year". When I got home I thought to myself it was awesome, but not match of the year." And that's why I said "The reporter did, though, say that the fans were chanting "Best Match Ever," so unless he's lying, it may not have mirrored Kobashi/Kawada, but it had to be pretty damn good." -
Where does it say anything about Kashmere leaving? I read BM's PWBTS recap of the show and see nothing about it...fill me in.

Agreed. The reporter did, though, say that the fans were chanting "Best Match Ever," so unless he's lying, it may not have mirrored Kobashi/Kawada, but it had to be pretty damn good. Markingout, check out Hero/M-Dogg in IWA if you really want to see how good M-Dogg can be when he works w/ the right opp. -
Who is Bob Barnett? razateca? A moron, but at the same time he's one of the leading experts on Lucha that lives in the US. Post the question on his message board @ bobbarnett.com and he'll let you know what's up.

Not sure. I saw Gala Lucha yesterday and it was a new recent episode of AAA with a FANTASTIC six-man that Im happy I taped. I havent seen any episodes for the last two weeks before that, so Im not really sure whats up. Im gonna watch today. If i were u, i'd ask Bob Barnett. he'd know.,

I really do hate to say it, but the attendance which was said to be down is *not* a good sign. This was an extremely quiet weekend for indy wrestling (just compare it to last weekend, when there were about 5 or 6 major shows that occurred, with the ONLY other notable show that occurred in the area being UIPW in Erie. It is surprising b/c the card for this show was really good and had been announced for awhile. Anyone know what happened w/ T Martini?
