  1. That's what he does... he's Sabu.
  2. It's funny when a TNA chant "OOOOO CANAAAAAADA" (when Dreamer stood on Edge's crotch) is one of the more over things of the night.
  3. Well, Heyman got Sid over huge in the Arena, and big shit is better than him. It's still pretty lame though
  4. Nah, Sandman will get a beer and hulk up here after the break.
  5. Jesus, they only hammered the point across a 1,000 times. Heyman sees ECW as a NEW ECW. Where pure wrestling thrives, pure athleticism... and Kurt Angle is the standard for all of that. Heyman's new idea is a more UFC/MMA-style product. There were some glimpses of that in OVW.

ECW One Night Stand 2 Thread

What happens on this PPV isn't necessarily what will happen on the TV show coming up. I know what kind of talent they have in the pipe, so I'm still excited about the "brand launch". But my anticipation for the PPV has definitely went way down after Raw.

  8. He's been working the Raw tour for the couple weeks. I'd say there's a good shot he'd debut on TV tonight (although I'd run some vignettes talking about how he is the son of DBS and the nephew of Bret first).

ECW One Night Stand 2 Thread

It's funny looking at that link in to the Observer article, because Heyman did exactly what should have happened in OVW, pushing Puder as an unstoppable monster who worked shoot-style, giving him an entourage of the Riggs Brothers as "Team Puder", and after a couple months of him destroying jobbers (sometimes teaming with Mr. Kennedy) the crowd was totally into him and the keylock was over huge as a finisher. They bought him in his last match with Johnny Jeter (which was pretty good) as a badass who was a legit star, main eventer, and could win the OVW title.
  10. The western half of the country are mostly kids who are John Cena marks and who were toddlers when ECW was running shows. I'm pretty confident that when they hit Pittsburgh/Dayton next week, the heat will be off the charts.

Who will be the new GM on RAW?

That's the fault of the booking/writing using the "GM/Evil Owner/Authority figure" as a crutch. A guy like Jim Cornette in OVW was brilliant in a similar role.

Is it time to End The Split

Zero chance the brand split will end... they're advertising ECW as extending to a third brand.
  13. Raven's already been challenged by Larry Z at the PPV, so he has to lose somehow. Besides, Jarrett v.s. Raven on PPV is where you close all the storyline arcs anyway that they've forgotten about (what's the deal with the controversy in Canada and Larry Z? What's Jackie's dirt on Jarrett? Who's the new DOA? Who's Raven's girlfriend? What was Dave Hebner taking notes on?)

    OAO TNA SACRIFICE THREAD!

Their first choice of Team Mexico would have been unreal good... basically CMLL's main eventers.

The OaO Raw thread for 05/15/06

He's already really good... better than Randy Orton.

    OAO TNA SACRIFICE THREAD!

I was really surprised by how good that tag match was. Sting worked his ass off, and Steiner/Jarrett took all of Joe's stuff 100%. All three of them put Joe over huge.

    OAO Friday Night Smackdown! Thread

I found it pretty interesting and very well done actually, but it's not going to get him over and is a waste of time.

    OAO Friday Night Smackdown! Thread

Yep... I couldn't believe it. Matthews is pretty good on the stick and Nitro was good with Cornette coaching him. In fact, Melina talked least of all 3 of them in OVW, I'd say, although they generally were on equal footing. And Jillian Hall playing Tammy Sytch is just creepy sometimes. That was quite the project of Cornette's to make her over.

    The OAO Raw Thread 5/1/06

IIRC, Mitch has a back injury, or is recovering from one (or something along those lines), so his ring time is kept to a minimum. He's also green as grass. The other guys have put a lot of time in, except for Nemeth, who was already on the main roster as Chavo's caddy. I really liked how they built the Squad up this week as credible workers.

    TNA spoiler

If these guys are signed for any longer than a month, it's absolutely terrible. Well, you might be able to get some mileage out of Rick Steiner teaming with BPP again and doing a dream match or two, but the other two are worthless at this point.

ECW Coming Back Full Time in Sept

OVW will definitely stick around. I'd guess Cornette will take it back over. There's a ridiclous amount of developmental guys at this point so even if they take 15 guys it's not going to be a huge deal. DSW may or may not close. There's a lot of developmental guys with talent that WWE has no or little use for that would fit in a new ECW brand.

ECW Coming Back Full Time in Sept

SD is going to need to draw strong ratings, plus I doubt they could present an *EXTREME* product on network TV at 8 o'clock. Nor is a revived ECW going to get the attendance Smackdown does. This will be a "third brand" with 1) guys WWE isn't doing a thing with, 2) developmental guys WWE isn't doing a thing with that fit within the style (like CM Punk), and 3) various ECW alumni.

    Thursday debut rating

The problem is you can't do that in only 42 minutes a week, plus having a PPV to build up to every 4 weeks. You can do everything but you have to focus on 16 guys or so and everyone else will have to be kind of just there.
  24. Apparently, he never listened to the minister. Actually, I heard the McMahons are conservative. They most definately are, but you don't have to be religious to be conservative Exactly. Just being rich qualifies them. Vince seems fisically conservative and socially libertarian (and that's practically socially liberal these days) to me. He's more of a paleoconservative, not a Bush Republican.
