  4. Petey Williams def. Naphtali- A nice little encounter. I feared for Naphtali's health, though. He tried a SSP to the outside, and saw that he over shot, it and came crashing down on his side. Try on the side of his temple.

Right Click and Download HERE ---------------------------------------- NWA Florida proudly presents the 2nd Annual Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, a Two-Day, 3 Show Cruiserweight tournament to be held on June 4th and 5th at Brandon All Stars in Brandon, FL and the St Petersburg National Guard Armory. Sixteen of the best wrestlers in the world will head to St. Petersburg, FL but only one will emerge with the trophy. NWA Florida sent invitations to many of the best wrestlers in the world today and also to many of the wrestlers who were very close friends of Jeff and we came up with what we feel is the best field possible. Thanks to everybody who asked to be in this tournament and I can guarantee you that with only 16 spots available it is a huge chore to choose who would participate in this years tournament. Last years winner Reckless Youth set the bar so high that there are literally wrestlers from all over the world that want to do what they can to raise the bar even further. The field for this years Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup is phenomenal and promises to be one of the best independent shows this year. Naphtali, Puma, Damian Adams, Chris Hero, Petey Williams, Alex Shelley, Justice, Black Tigers, Teddy Hart, Sedrick Strong, Roderick Strong, Striker, Azrieal, Jimmy Jacobs, Homicide and Mikey Tenderfoot comprise the 16 competitors that will compete for this years Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup! 2004 JEFF PETERSON MEMORIAL CUP BRACKETS All first round matches will be at the Brandon All Stars facility on Friday, June 4th starting at 8 pm BRACKET A RODERICK STRONG vs SEDRICK STRONG will face the winner of ALEX SHELLEY vs JIMMY JACOBS CHRIS HERO vs STRIKER will face the winner of HOMICIDE vs BLACK TIGERS BRACKET B TEDDY HART vs AZRIEAL will face the winner of PUMA VS MIKEY TENDERFOOT NAPHTALI VS PETEY WILLIAMS will face the winner of JUSTICE VS DAMIEN ADAMS The second round will take place at the St Petersburg National Guard Armory on Saturday, June 5th at 2 pm! If that isn't enough it gets better as we have also signed on former WWE Superstar Zach Gowen to wrestle at both nights of the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup! Last year was huge but this year looks like it is going to be even bigger! Once again this year Jet Jaguar will be coming out of retirement to referee the finals of the tournament as he was told by doctors wrestling is completely out of the question and he insisted on being part of this event. Jet Jaguar vs Jeff Peterson was the feud that helped put the Florida indie scene back on the map 5 years ago and is still talked about by the fans today. Jeff Peterson was a fantastic cruiserweight who wrestled primarily in Florida and Delaware, but traveled throughout the U.S., including California. Peterson passed away after a long battle with cancer. Peterson was a 2 time IPW Cruiserweight champion and had epic battles with Jet Jaguar and Mike Quackenbush over the title. It was at the Super 8 , hosted by his uncle Jim Kettner, that Jeff really began to shine and get the national recognition he deserved as he made fans and wrestlers alike a believers in his amazing abilities. Portions of the proceeds from both nights will be donated in Jeff Peterson's name to the Tarpon Springs Cops and Kids program. Tarpon Springs Police Chief Mark LeCouris and NWA Florida have worked together for 2 years with NWA Florida bringing in the Cops and Kids involved with this great group to shows on a monthly basis as guests of NWA Florida. The Cops and Kids program is a great organization that goes out of their way to help out the kids in their community and NWA Florida is proud to have them on board as the group that will benefit from this years Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup. Check out http://www.NWAFlorida.com for all the details and for all your ticket information on the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup as well as the great auctions already available on Ebay with all proceeds from the auction benefitting the Cops N Kids Program as well as the Moffitt Cancer Center. --------------- The INDY show of the YEAR. 14. BACKSTORY OF MIKEY TENDERFOOT VS. ROD STEEL FEUD OF THE YEAR IN FLORIDA IN 2003 -Written by Dave "AODShirt" Tuthill A little bit of backstory to this feud that culminated in that great match at IPW's Five Year Anniversary spectacular: Rod Steel and Mikey Tenderfoot were best friends. They both broke into the business in IPW at around the same time. Mikey worked under a mask as Sejiin Akki (as evidenced by his tights in that match) for many years. Both men tore up the state on an individual basis for several years in IPW Hardcore Wrestling. Akki had memorable matches with the likes of Jeff Peterson, Jet Jaguar, Mike Quackenbush, Jermey Lopez, Tony Mamaluke, Jamie Noble, Scoot Andrews, etc. Rod Steel was doing likewise. In 2002, Scoot Andrews brought down the Alliance of Defiance from Jim Kettner's ECWA to invade IPW. The IPW version of the stable consisted of Scoot, "Marvelous" Mike Sullivan, Billy Fives, and Rod Steel. Mikey Tenderfoot came in as their heel referee (wait, isnt this angle going on now?) as well. All was well with the AOD. Scoot/Sullivan were tag champs, Billy Fives traded the NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship with Agent Steele and Danny Doring, and Rod Steel was your Rod Damn Champ, IPW Heavyweight Champion that is. Mikey Tenderfoot would often run-amuck with his best friend, referring in his title matches and frequently screwing his opponent over to the DISMAY of the Florida crowd. Tensions then began to flair. Fives was booted from the AOD and turned into MEGA BABYFACE. Agent Steele and Roderick Strong were brought in the same night Fives was booted out. All seemed well.....except for tension in the Tenderfoot/Rod Steel friendship. Mikey eventually turned on the AOD and also became a fan favorite. He engaged in a bitter feud with the Alliance of Defiance, in particular Rod, his former best friend. I recall one match between the two at the (RIP) Florida WrestlePlex, IPW's home venue, where Rod Steel and the rest of the AOD literally DESTROYED Mikey. But Mikey didn't quit, he was knocked out. Try as hard as he might, through beatings, through brawls, through 10 page long internet promos laced with innuendo and poor spelling, Rod Steel could NOT make Mikey Tenderfoot quit. He blew his casket and DEMANDED an "I Quit" match as the last match the two would EVER have in IPW Hardcore Wrestling. Well, you saw that match. A few weeks later during a tag match with Florida indy superstar Justice vs. Scoot Andrews/Mike Sullivan, Rod Steel came to the ring after the rest of the AOD bullrushed it and beat down Mikey/Justice, resulting in a DQ. Instead of joining in the gang beating, however, Rod LEVELED (heh) Mike Sullivan with a chair, to the shock of the rest of the AOD. He proceeded to steel chair the rest of them, and after a babyface clearing of the ring, the "Untouchables" of Mikey Tenderfoot and Rod Steel were born, to one of the loudest pops in the history of Florida wrestling (legit) Mikey and Rod continue in NWA Florida as a tag team. They recently had an AMAZING tag match with Scoot Andrews and Bruce (formerly Agent) Steele of the Alliance of Defiance. Rod broke his wrist in that match and is currently on the sidelines. Mikey has been continuing as a single wrestler until Rod heals. (Hopefully NWA Florida gets that tag match up soon as it was one f**king AWESOME match) ----- There you have it...hope it helped explain the backstory a little.

  16. Fugitive Bobby Rogers, aka Michael Rapuano, former owner of the Future of Wrestling, was arrested last week and has 4 charges against him: 1. A misdemeanor violation of probation with a $10,000 bond set 2. A worthless check charge with bond set at $2,000 3. A violation of probation FELONY with NO bond set 4. Another probation violation felony with no bond set. Rogers has been a fugitive of the law for over six months. He was the owner of the South Florida independent promotion Future of Wrestling, which at one point had drawn over 3,000 fans for one of their shows in Davie, Florida. The promotion closed after Rogers was caught using a Florida indy worker's name to apply for a credit card. For more information on Rapuano's arrest, visit: http://www.sheriff.org/apps/arrest/details.cfm?ID=500405259 and http://www.dc.state.fl.us/absconder/detail...ionID=444966727 -Dave Tuthill

    New Jack and Vic Grimes

Sometimes I honestly think New Jack has a split personality. As long as no one pisses him off, you can have great conversation with him outside of the ring for HOURS and good subjects to talk with him about never cease. But in the ring and when he's pissed off.....one of the scariest sights to behold. I also don't like how he invites kids into the ring after he works a match. What self respecting parent would let their children get into a ring covered in light tubes and thumbtacks and with a bleeding black guy who god knows where his blood has been?

    Just to Show Something

I agree with all points except calling NWA FL bushleague. That DVD is old and outdated and made by a drug dealer. NWA FL is two years older and now one of the top feds in the southeast and borderline top10 in the nation. So shush.
  20. I figured I'd post this over here if anyone was interested. There's been talk of possibly getting a large group of you northeast guys down here to Florida for the two day Jeff Peterson Cup in June. Most of the full details are at This Thread over on CZWFans. While being borderline insane, I think this has potential to be one of those unforgettable wrestling weekends and that all of you kickass Northeast people should experience it as well. Oh, and here is the information about the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup. Yeah, that's all the hype I've got. Let's get some interest in this bitch!
  21. This really shouldn't be the barometer of how Florida indies are judged. Some are as bad as this, yes, but this is more, as a friend put it "non-athletes getting their buddies and people they mark out to booked" Check out some NWA Florida matches coming soon online and see the HUGE difference in product/presentation/match QUALITY and etc.

NWA Florida is proud to sign these 4 young men to this prestigious tournament and can guarantee they are an example of what the entire field is going to look like this year, world class, top notch talent from top to bottom. We will announce 4 more of the wrestlers signed to the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup next week. NWA Florida Vice President Ron Niemi said, "I am not sure it will be possible to live up to expectations after the amazing tournament last year but we are going to do our best to honor the name of a young man who meant a hell of a lot to all of us. Jeff Peterson was a true class act and like a little brother to anybody that met him in this business and we are proud to be able to present a tournament in his name once again this year and hope the fans will come out and pay tribute to a friend that we all miss dearly." Portions of the proceeds from both nights will be donated in Jeff Peterson's name to the Tarpon Springs Cops and Kids program.
