    Backlash 2004 DVD

My Walmart ended its streak of having the new DVDs the day they come out, so I'll have to fork it out at BestBuy now.

So what WWF and WCW PPVs weren't released to the

Did WCW release any DVDs ever? I have almost all WWE DVDs ever put out in the states (All PPVs that is) and I'd like to polish off the collection with any WCW DVDs.

The Official Judgment Day 2004 Thread

RRR: Hey, I totally see where you are coming from. I'd say it boils down to just the type of people we are. It seems to me that ever since you totally gave up on WWE, you've transferred your nitpicking of the matches to people's posts. So, with that said, you may not get me in this sense either, but here goes. My words may come off as describing something mind blowing, and when they are coupled in with things in the same paragraph that I don't like and an overall only above average rating, it could come off as misleading. I rated the match on how much I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a lot, but I also didn't feel it was a masterpiece. some spots were semi-blown, the heat was spotty, and it was not fluid throughout; not flawless. I can see in some parts where some may not like the match, but I did. There were faults. It wasn't the best match ever. In my eyes, it never could have been the greatest match ever because the whole story behind it and buildup were very sub-par. I was not anticipaing the match, and so it had to grow on me. It was a good start, okayish in the middle and the end sequence was very well done (of course, IMO). I had a lot of fun with it and enjoyed it. I would use words like "stellar" just to describe my overall great satisfaction with how the match turned out as opposed to what I was expecting. I was very pleased that I got a fun, pretty good match out of what I was expecting a pile of shit from. That's the best explaining I can do.

The Official Judgment Day 2004 Thread

I applauded it because, imho, it saved a PPV full of matches at best reaching *1/2. I HATED Booker losing straight up like any other midcarder. I HATED Mordeaci, I HATED Cena/Dupree, and everything else put me to sleep. That match was just going to be the next in a series of suck, but they pulled it out. I saw it as a lot like Brock/Taker HIAC. It was just fun, definitely something I'd enjoy but no awesome spectacle of a match. The story didn't have me drawn completely in, DQ finish (granted the aftermath was good, but I don't like DQs), some spotty heat but very solidly paced, good storytelling, couple of sick spots and an overall fun experience of a match. ***1/2. What is so hard to get about what I said? I wish I had a detailed checklist as to why I took off for what I did in the rating, but I don't. I only post that to give someone who didn't see it a feel of how they may possibly see the matchcoming off as.

He is talking about the PPV as a whole if that clears things up. Main: Good PPV as a whole: average

Main gets ***1/2 from me. I rolled my eyes at the finish but the end sequence MORE than made up for it and put Eddie over more. I was scared Eddie got cut hard-way because that was the HARDEST chairshot I've seen in quite some time. The bladejob surpassed Taker's from HIAC, and the pacing of the match was excellent. Nearfalls were wonderful, and it was good to see Eddie totally own JBL in the 1st five minutes and then work his magic to bring a feud I personally didn't want to see to life. Very happy with the main, but couldn't stay awake for most of the rest. Stellar performance by both guys in my book. *applauds*

Somebody look for a DVD called Death Bed: The Bed That Eats at Best Buy. That's your worst movie ever.

PPVs like this only get bought by people like myself who order them all anyway. I seriously wonder if there is ANYONE on earth who just recently started turning into SD and decided to buy the PPV. You can't be THAT big of a mark. It isn't possible.

Well, off to see what SK gave the show and I'll wipe my hands clean of that one. Pretty bad hard sell, but there wasn't much to sell. Bleh.

It's OK. It's still wrestling. It can be fun to watch if you let it, but not as electrifying as it should be.

DAMN Cena is over. I'm digging him, but I'm tired of these phone-it-in, made-for-TV, signature move only matches. I hope he really tries to let lose Sunday.

I'm just going by what Monsoon called it: the momentum of the move gives the person enough of a chance to get over, then hold down the person, who is surprised by the roll over, for a pin. That old explanation has always made sense, I just hate it as much as any rollup finish. I don't need a finishing move, but at least something that is decisive. How surprised can you be to actually stay pinned for that long with your adrenaline flowing after just kicking out of being slammed on your head at 2? See what I'm getting at?

    The Smackdown Thread!

It totally kills the move. It is a blatant no selling when you take the full impact of a move and then have enough strength to instantly hold a man down for a three count who hasn't taken any immediate punishment. Oh, I could go on and on, just one of my most HATED EVER.
