    Steve Austin's book

He talks too much about his family life and other things, and not a whole lot about his beliefs and insighs on things. There is no real dirt or light shed on anything. Hell, I picked it up and read it in a day, I just don't want people expecting it to be like Foley's books.

    WWE figure images

In the current style there are three different torsos. The arm sets on all the figures as well as the legs are incredible bulky, so the torso doesn't create much of a difference in the overall look. There is supposed to be a cruiserweight type torso (used on current figures like the latest Jericho and Christian 2 pack and all Benoit shirtless figures), a middleground torso, All Orton and Rock figures, and a Heavyweight (Lesnar, shirtless Kane). Problem is they pick the wrong people to have the smallest torso and give thin guys (Orton) the bigger ones. He and Batista's figures have the SAME torso.

Media post: Stone Cold & HHH Vs. The Undertaker

Deon you rule. If I could request anything, it would be a lot of stellar stuff from 2000 I always hear about. I never viewed PPVs then, so any Benoit/Rock, Benoit/HHH, Jericho/HHH (LMS) or the Iron Man match are all stuff I haven't seen.

    Steve Austin's book

It's decent. Some chapters are good, some drag. Nothing particularly groundbreaking, but I'd buy it just to see Steve and his brothers doing the Sears catalog poses. Hilarious.

    Stiffest beating you've ever seen

Speaking of chairshots from Taker, does anyone remember his one to a kneeling Kanyon (dressed as Boy George) during the build for his match with Show at NWO 2003? He just killed the guy.

Media post: Chris Benoit Vs. Sid Vicious

How can you even react to a finish that quick? Sid tapped like a jobber. If you took a sip of your drink you missed it!

    Johnny Nitro

He had me rolling whehn he exclamined "You can't pull one by me, [intense face] I"m Johhny Nitro"!

Media post: The Rock Vs. HHH

Deon, just got around to being able to check that out. You are flat out amazing for getting this done. Much appreciation. I enjoyed the match. It is the epitome of the year 2000 and the energetic pace the main events exemplified. Same old stuff, one cool announcer table spot, and you've got a formula. Great, fun match. Fat Austin was funny to see. Thanks a million.

Choken what's all the talk about Shawn putting over Trips before "leaving"? Did I miss something?

    Judgment Day has come

Better than Holly. WWE is just trying to resurrect people's careers. It happened to the Big Show. I knew he'd be doing it sometime, since rumors have been flying of a major Bradshaw push since back when the WWE was planning on splitting the Acolytes in 1999-2000 and have them feud before being title bound. Who knows, we may like his character, and with Eddy in the other corner, we could see a *** carry. No biggie.
  11. Dude, just quit watching. Bust out your puro collection or something. I LOVED this show. I can see many people's points and there were some disappointments, but it was nowhere near that bad.

    "Fock" Austin

Austin and Lesnar pretty much fought to a draw, and Lesnar just said screw this. He has a match with Goldberg Sunday, and he was bleeding. No one got a distinct advanatge. Brock wanted to take him out quick (like on Monday) and didn't get it done, so, instead of going in for the long haul, he said "fuck it." Lesnar/Show haven't been cool since the Show/Holly restraining order and the Royal Rumble. They never made up. Heyman set up perfectly why everyone would screw him and Brock (including the heels) by stumbling over himself on whether or not to call it "Heyman's Smackdown!" or " YOUR Smackdown!" and the fact that he built up Lesnar CONSTANTLY during the segment making him look as if he was valued MUCH more than all those standing before him. There was nothing wrong with this segment other than Austin looking like a stiff and not even lifting his shoulder up at all with the punches and the fact that this was sufficient build to an Austin/Lesnar feud and Goldberg looks like HHH did in the Armageddon 2003 3-way. (Through of course, no fault of anyone but Goldberg). I haven't agreed with a lot of Austin antics lately, but this one was not warranting an Austin bashing post.

    SmackDown from JHawk's Beak

Great review. I find myself missing a lot of Smackdowns lately because I work every Thursday nite, but you help me out greatly by using the star ratings AS WELL AS explaining what you though of each few segments. BRILLIANT~!

More on the battle over Edge

I was under the impression that it started looking that way because everyone was half assing and wouldnt take it properly, so it became second nature. If Jericho won't impose that people take it properly (IE Brock's new submission), he needs to move on. I could be wrong about it thoguh, it could be he choice.

More on the battle over Edge

Loss, you CANNOT deny that a finisher AT LEAST is vital. Jericho has the psychology down, but Eddie had to win it with the Frogsplash, just to use an example. His crab is getting pathetic and it is just not believeable anymore. Remember in these recent years (well in the last 10) when Hogan's legdrop was so miniscule compared to EVERYONE's finishers? People started kicking out. Everytime. No one wanted to see the match end with that. Hell, Rock won't really even finish ANY match with the elbow anymore besides the Hogan match at WMX8 (only because it was kind of a given legdrop vs elbow). Look at how Hall pulled off the Stunner to Austin (to compensate for Austin not wanting to take the edge). Austin sold it like shit. Everytime. Could you really buy it, even though you knew that was the stunner, the same move that mean lights out for EVERYONE. No. And he didn't use it anymore when he moved on from Austin because it sucked. No one is taking the move correctly (sans Trish) and it is dragging his matches down. You don't enjoy when a sleeper is built around a match all day when you KNOW it isn't going to be the end all be all. You get bored. the timing and the comeback are all there, but its a sleeper. It is not going to get the finish.

More on the battle over Edge

But it boils down to ALL of his moves. His sleeper slam is used so sporadically, it doesn't even make sense, the Breakdown failed to get over (no one would take it without being a pussy), the linosault isn't even cool to look at anymore, of course the lioncrab, and his enziguri/dropkick is hit and miss. The only thing he really has is his springboard dropkick that and flying forearm that he only really uses as a face. what happened to the days of the double powerbomb and a sick submissions, and why can't he pull a Benoit and just use the sharpshooter? It HAS to be hard to get the guys on Raw to flop around the ring for a babyface Y2J with that crap for an arsenal. I mean that's like saying you didn't mind that Bossman tappedAustin with the tip of the foam of the mic for 30 minutes, Austin should have sold that beatdown well and it would have been OK. I don't want to see RVD throw punches all day because they suck. He couldn't do a Rock style match with those desparation comeback punches. How can you not be bothered by that entire weak offense? The crowd may pop for it, but it doesn't mean they buy it. Its automatic now.

More on the battle over Edge

Does anyone else see Jericho's offense as a major reason he can't really get anywhere? In the age where finishing moves dominate, Jericho has nothing. No one wants to tap to a weka crab, and I think it is killing him. I may be alone here, but ever since the liontamer itself was tamed, I have a realy problem getting into a Jericho match. There is no question that he has been misused to an extent, but that weak offense is burying him just as well in my eyes.

    Flair

I was watching Judgment Day 2002 today because I had never seen it, and watching the handicap match between austin and Flair/Show got me thinking. When was the last time Flair looked at the crowd and got them going with a WOO? Has he been completely neutered or am I just deaf?

    OMG WWE reads the boards!!!
  20. Just call me Dan

    Flair

I remember the one at the rumble that he rattled off with the champagne. That was funny. But seriously, have you also noticed Angle's decline of WOOing too? What the hell is going on?
  21. Just call me Dan

    Flair

Well to be fair, Hart wasn't a sixteen time World champion who is one of the most constantly over superstars in wrestling history.
  22. Just call me Dan

    Flair

right, I heard that news a long time ago. thing was, flair kept on doing it, and, to me, it seems like only recently it has been completely stopped.
  23. Just call me Dan

    Flair

Maybe I am weird, maybe I'm worng. That is why I posed the question. Hell, I don't even hear Angle doing it anymore. Did Triple H take it away from WWE TV while he perfects it himself or something?
  24. Just call me Dan

    Flair

Did he? I'm sure he has occasionally, but you don't even here the fans doing it or beckoning to do one of the things that he has been most known for throught his career.

What was the moment of truth?

RVDs last straw was KOTR 2002. I knew it was all set for Brock to take it, but RVD should have capped off a summer feud with the Undertaker in which he finally beat him clean and took the title.
