It was very depressing looking at this thread and remembering a time when I was 10-4.

They also can't record HD. That make them useless to me.

This is going to be a 50-pointer. Book it.

I was reading something today suggesting the Twins would be looking at getting position players more than pitchers, given the depth of pitching throughout the organization. Which is to say that Hughes and Chamberlain might not be traded, but if neither of them are, both Cabrera and Cano almost certainly would be.
-
You know why those players are in a position to be hurt? Because marginal players with no respect for anyone else on the ice will always be there to take liberties. Everyone is so quick to come up with excuses defending head shots -- and I've been guilty of this on occasion -- when the reality is there's no place for head shots in hockey. Absolutely none.

None of those differences before 2007 could be considered statistically significant. I'm looking forward to seeing Hughes' PECOTA for 2008, because I doubt his five-year projection will have him anything close to Santana's level.

What is it with the Yankee fans wanting to add a degree of difficulty to next season? First they say they're better off without the best player in the game, now they say they don't want to trade for the best pitcher in the game unless they can also get him for 50 cents on the dollar.

I will be watching the Army-Navy game, as I do every year. I wish Army could get a little better so the games could be more competitive. This is shaping up to be another Navy blowout.
-
Well, this is just getting downright embarrassing.

Exactly, you always trade top prospects for a top-shelf known quantity. Look at the Pedro deal -- a lot of Red Sox fans thought giving up Carl Pavano and Tony Armas Jr. for Pedro was too much. I don't know why Cano should be untouchable anyway. I'd rather give up Cano than Hughes. The Yankees aren't exactly hurting for offence, while they have a clear need for pitching.
-
I kind of doubt they could keep Cano out of a deal. Hughes, Kennedy and Cabrera doesn't seem like enough. That seems like the proverbial "three quarters for a dollar" deal.

Time for Bill Simmons to retire, I think. One thing I can't stand is when columnists devote entire columns to their kids, and he's just written his second.

Gossage (at last, I hope), Raines, Dawson, McGwire and Blyleven. I'd love to see the old Expo outfielders Raines and Dawson go in together, but that's a pipe dream.

They've been like that for the last five years. It's abundantly clear that JFJ needs to go.
-
I would've taken Jaguars @ Colts, myself. I'm thinking CBS had to have protected that game, though, as it's pretty much the only good game of the week.

Line forms to the left.

You bastard, I wanted to start this thread.

Anyone know if getting a remote sensor on a TV fixed is expensive? My TV can no longer be controlled by either my cable remote or TV remote unless it's about 3 inches from the sensor.

Since 2006. And yes, South Africa is already in -- the World Cup qualifier is also the qualifier for the African Nations Cup, for which RSA is not exempt.

That's what I was thinking -- I was expecting them to just stick the pole in the ground and start gyrating on it. It was patently obvious about a half-hour in who was going home. They pushed way too hard with the whole "We can catch up, it's not over yet" edit. The "crickets chirping" edit after the failed dances at the Detour was awesome, though.

Wow, onside kick. Someone should really tell the Eagles they're supposed to lose by 40.
-
This is so sick. This game should have been over ages ago. Denver continues to find new, more painful ways to lose.
-
Awfully nice of the Bears secondary to give it right back, though. Now, if Sauerbrun kicks to Hester again, I'm going to have him killed.
-
NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, SAUERBRUN???????
