I agree totally that Buckner wasn't at fault for them losing Game 6. It was a mixture of Schiraldi, Stanley and McNamara. McNamara was totally at fault for putting Buckner in that position to begin with.

I'm still watching it. I seriously can't get enough of this show.

I would put Milwaukee in there long before I'd ever consider NYC. The Yankees have been to the playoffs every year this decade, the Mets won the division last year, the Giants have been to a Super Bowl recently, and the Rangers are good again. I don't care how high expectations are there, you have to really EARN the right to say you're in a slump.

Youkilis will probably come in in the later innings as a pinch hitter and defensive replacement. I would hope Francona wouldn't leave Ortiz out there for a potential Buckner situation. Having Ortiz in the lineup gives you so many more benefits, though, because of the intimidation factor, IMO. He'll probably sit out Game 5 against Francis, though.

I went back and found Curt's blog entry from August 23 where he discussed the contract situation. He basically said he'd sign with Boston if they wanted him, but if not, he'd find another team willing to sign him for a year (and only a year). The way the Sox' rotation is shaking down for next year, though, it seems pretty likely they'd want him back. But, who really knows anything at this point?

Schilling's said from the start that he only wants a one-year deal, so I don't see how anything's changed.

A) Where is everyone getting the whole "Brady's a deadbeat dad" thing? 2) Isn't everyone jumping the gun a little bit? The baby's, what, two months old? Bridget moved to LA, Brady plays on the east coast, and the Pats haven't even had their bye week yet. He's not exactly a man of leisure this time of year. III) Yeah, Roy's post was pretty bad.

Maybe, but there's no way such an inexperienced squad should be thought of as a contender right now. They might do all right with the non-conference schedule, but they're going to have a rough time of it in SEC play.

Nothing Compares 2 U (Sinead O'Connor) - Makes me want to go on a killing spree. A Family Affair (Mary J. Blige) - I do not understand what the lyrics are supposed to be. Just super-annoying, plus the fact that it was ridiculously overplayed. Jenny From The Block (Jennifer Lopez) - I hated this one instantly. Pretty much from the first note.
