I'm from Kingston, and I would try to find an excuse not to watch CKWS whenever possible.

NFL Week 7: You Mean There's A Football Team In Denver?

Block this MF'n kick. -
It used to be like that, but CBC started doing two early games a couple of years ago. People in the Ottawa area get the Sens, plus anyone else who gets CBC Ottawa on satellite.
-
Not quite all. I got to see Sens/Panthers in HD.

It's actually Game 5 that's affected, as the Broncos play on Monday Night Football next week. They're on Sunday Night Football tonight. There is no Sunday night game next week, and I think (not sure) that the NFL schedule came out before MLB announced they were changing the start date of the World Series. There's usually not a World Series game on Monday.

Miami couldn't stop these guys even if they were allowed two extra defenders on the field. -

Geez, it's not bad enough they're rolling up the score on everyone...now Brady thinks he needs a degree of difficulty, throwing to Moss in double coverage for a TD. -

Gotta love Sportsline. They have a score of Tampa Bay 0, Detroit -6. -

New England is going to put up 70 if the Dolphins keep tackling like they did on the TD pass to Stallworth. -
No real surprises this week: N.Y. Giants - 3 Seattle - 1 Washington - 1

Yes, he was. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in their duel, but did not kill him.

OMFG JD DREW JUST HIT A GRAND SLAM That was unbelievable. I guarantee, Boston fans everywhere were disgusted when Lowell popped out because they "knew" the inning was over.

Fuck Nebraska.

Anyone ever heard of Trey Hillman? Because he's the new manager of the Royals.

Something I was discussing with a friend earlier...

This sums it up for me. Pat Gillick successfully combined both during the Blue Jays' World Series run. Building entirely from within was good, and it led to a couple of division titles, but it wasn't until they went out and traded for big guys like Alomar, Carter and White, signed top-level free agents like Morris, Winfield and Molitor, and made the big deadline deals for Cone and Henderson that they were able to get over the top. But they also wouldn't have made it without the homegrown guys that remained, like Juan Guzman, Jimmy Key, Duane Ward and John Olerud. -
I got my silver medal on the Canada Fitness Test in grade 5. I was one mark short, but we got to redo one of the tests, and I picked the chin-up bar. I managed to pull myself up for about two and a half minutes in front of the whole class.

I shot a hole-in-one on the eighth hole at Crowbush Cove on Prince Edward Island three years ago. I thought I hit the ball too well and it had gone flying over the green. I was shocked to see it in the cup.

Oh, for fuck's sake, are you serious? Really? All Red Sox fans are supposed to find Tim McCarver knowledgeable and witty just because their team won a game to avoid elimination?

Damn, now I need Nebraska and a lot of points in Lexington.

A 20 point spread SHOULD be ridiculous, but I think this is going to be a massacre. New England could be up 42-0 at halftime. -
It's OK, it's safe to say things like that around here now.

Al made the point in his original post, but putting incentives in a manager's contract is stupid, and could lead to some pretty damaging consequences. He could end up sacrificing a player's career just for a couple more wins.

It's a 33% pay cut. That's still a slap in the face, no matter what everyone else is making. And especially so considering the Yankees were pretty much left for dead in May and still made the playoffs. He has to get some of the credit for that.
