We've found Joba's weakness. The kid doesn't like bugs.

Blecch...didn't need the close-up of Joba's neck in HD there.

This trivia question they just asked on TBS may be the stupidest one I've ever seen: How many players have gotten three hits with two outs and runners in scoring position in a postseason game?

Uh, Phoenix won last night.

Cool, I'm on the right end of the Thursday nighter for a change.

If you got Travis Henry in any fantasy leagues..

If he's suspended at all, it'll be for the entire season, so yeah, he'll probably miss that game. -
Gee, what do you think this might be?

Travis Henry, you fucking, fucking moron. -
Leaf fans should be encouraged -- Toskala was quite good, and the Leafs were able to get a ton of time in the offensive zone. Gerber looked shaky at times; I'll be a lot happier once Emery's back. Heatley's on pace for 124 goals.

What the hell is wrong with the sound? I can't even hear the announcers, and the crowd sounds like I'm listening to them underwater.

I couldn't decide whether this merited a separate thread or not. ESPN is reporting that Marion Jones admitted using the clear prior to the 2000 Olympics, and will plead guilty to lying to federal agents. She will probably also be stripped of the five medals she won in Sydney. Story

You know it's just not your day when you give up a grand slam to Kaz F'n Matsui.

I'm glad I lifted my boycott of ABC so I could watch this show. It kicks all kinds of ass. Could someone please change the damn title of the thread, though?

I haven't heard anything on when he'll be back, only that he definitely won't go to Binghamton for a conditioning stint first.

Ottawa's going to be lucky to get away from this with at least a point, if they do. They were not prepared for the Leafs' intensity tonight. The more I look at the Senators jerseys, the more they look like the Team Canada jerseys to me.

There are going to be some unhappy people on the west coast for that second game. I'd rather watch just about any game on the schedule besides UCLA/Notre Dame.
-
Oh my God, Heatley's resigned with Ottawa for 6 years. I'm in shock, in a very, very good way.

He still always gives up a ton of hits to Boston, though, and given that, he's lucky he hasn't been beaten around worse. He gave up 20 hits to the Sox in less than 10 IP this year, and he's never had a start against them where he's allowed fewer than nine baserunners.
-
The Sox just own John Lackey (6.26 ERA, 1.92 WHIP in 11 career starts) and Vlad is hurt. I don't see them being competitive.
-
Gus Frerotte is starting for the Rams this week. As if I needed any more reasons to pick against them.
-
Hard to say, since I think this is the first year they've offered it. If you don't mind watching games on your computer, and you watch a lot of out-of-market games, I'd guess it'd be worth it.

So they were really still going to do Bret/Shawn all the way up until that point? I would have thought that as hot as the Bret/Austin feud was even in late '96, that they would have changed plans a lot sooner. Of course, the question then is what program would Shawn have had for the big show. Another match with Sid, possibly? No chance of another match with Sid -- the match at Final Four was supposed to blow off the feud before WrestleMania. It was well-known (well-speculated, anyway) that Shawn forfeited the title because he didn't want to job to Bret at Mania, which means the office must have had plans to go ahead with the match.

I had the Phillies over the Angels in the predictions thread. It'd be cool to see that actually come true.
