You should know by now that no story is ever officially put to rest as long as ESPN's around.

Wasn't that just a couple of weeks ago? About a month ago, during that epic Yankee beatdown that apparently woke the beast.

Ugh. I thought we got rid of these twenty years ago. Pullovers aren't good-looking. Love the return of the original logo, though.

Somewhere, Steve J. Rogers is taking a baseball bat to his living room.

I could spend from now until game time looking at Illinois/Indiana and UK/Arkansas and I still wouldn't be any closer to figuring them out. Oh well. I also think Toledo has a good shot to win, but I'm not brave enough to take them. Ah, screw it, yes I am. THURSDAY Texas A&M FRIDAY Oklahoma SATURDAY Indiana BYU LSU Penn State Wake Forest Houston Kentucky Pittsburgh Toledo Alabama Arizona State UCLA Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the South Carolina/LSU game? 52 Tiebreak #2: How many rushing yards will Arkansas' Darren McFadden have against Kentucky? 100

Currently out of the league. Maybe. At the very least, teams will start to be really cautious about signing him. I said at the start of last season that he'd be out of the league in three years.

Geez, has Baltimore just completely quit on the season? Two Orioles have been thrown out trying to steal by trotting into second base instead of running hard and sliding, as if the tag was a foregone conclusion.

Denver - 20 Baltimore New England Detroit Indianapolis N.Y. Jets Minnesota San Diego Pittsburgh Tampa Bay Seattle Oakland Denver Carolina Washington Dallas Tennessee

Phillies are 3-6 on Wednesdays since July 1.

They finished 4th in 2004, ahead of Toronto. That's also the only year they've ever won 70 games.
-
Too bad his first name isn't Joe. Dean Joe Green would be awesome.

The National League is on pace to make history. Since the introduction of the 162-game schedule in 1961, no league has ever failed to produce a team that won more than 90 games, excluding strike-shortened years. The Diamondbacks are on pace to have the NL's best record at 90-62.

Martin Gerber had 52 saves last night. We'll let you have him.
-
Cincinnati was on the road, and the Ravens don't have an offence to be humbled.
-
Tom Brady has never lost to the Bills in Foxboro in his career. Based on what I've seen, I wouldn't call Denver a lock against any team on their schedule besides Kansas City.
-
Another MFing tiebreaker.
-
Hopefully (only in the context of this contest) Richard Dawson, who's on my list.
-
Are you serious? There's one absolute no-brainer on there. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3/4 of the pool on the same game.
-
"Aw, fuck it!"

...in week 3? In the NFC no less? The Bears defense will carry them to a minimum 4 seed. So you think they'll win the division for sure? Everyone's right, it's way too early to tell, but I think either Detroit or Green Bay could challenge them this season.

Mike Fisher has signed an extension with the Sens. TSN just said it's for 5 years, $21m.
-
No, he's still a free agent.
-
Fixed. Even better.

The playoffs wouldn't start until the 5th. I'm sure they'd have the field ready for football in four days.
-
Well, sure, unless they get one of Buffalo's famous lake-effect blizzards that day.
