There's something very familiar about this posting style.

I can't think of anything a server could do to get me to tip more than $2 at a buffet. OK, I can, but I don't see me getting a BJ under the table anytime soon.

I went there during the Expos last season and I'll agree. If you take off the crappy roof- it's not much worse than Yankee Stadium (which I thought was incredibly mediocre outside of the great atmosphere) and it had better concessions than Yankee Stadium. The smoked meat at Olympic Stadium was amazing. I never had an experience at the Big O worse than the one I had at Fenway Park, where I was in a cramped seat with an obstructed view. I think the biggest knocks on the Big O were more from the players than the fans -- understandable, since the playing surface was probably the worst in all of sports. Even worse than Veterans Stadium in Philly. For the fans, it was a perfectly acceptable ballpark, not great, but not terrible, either.

Have you read Baseball Between the Numbers by the BP guys? If so, what did you think of it?

Any thoughts on who's going home tonight? I thought Lavell had the weakest set last week, but I doubt he'll go home yet. I think Jon Reep could be the one cut. I had thought Gerry Dee was most likely to be voted off going into last week's show, but he had such a great set that I can't see how he'd be eliminated.

Ah, but you go to one of the buffets at a Vegas megacasino, and the prices aren't exactly low. It is, however, cheaper than eating at one of their restaurants and the food is generally top notch. Out of curiosity, is this Vegas price rise a recent thing? I've been twice (the first time in 2003) and despite what films like Kingpin would have me believe, the cheapest buffet was like $20. You must be going to the high-end hotels. Downtown and other off-Strip casinos (aside from the Rio) and cheaper Strip properties generally have dinner buffets in the $10-17 range. The one at the Golden Nugget downtown is $16.99 for dinner and quite good. Orleans is $13.95 and decent.

It was funny, as soon as Guthrie came out of the game up 4-3 in the seventh, every Orioles fan around me was completely convinced they were going to lose.

The new jerseys aren't as bad as I was expecting. The shoulder patch is a nice nod to the past.
