It's too sad to even be funny at this point.

Staal is NOT winning the Calder.

Just saw the replay, and I honestly couldn't tell. It probably was a goal, but it's impossible to be sure. Buffalo needs to come out next game ready to kill. They just let one of the best teams down the stretch back into their series. They need to win Game 5, or I don't think they advance.

Great. Five fantasy guys injured now, and only two DL spots.

3 solo homers for the Blue Jays against CC Sabathia in the top of the first. Too bad it's raining and the game could be called.

I hope so. I have $50 in free PartyPoker money on the Sabres.

You nailed it. AWESOME.

Halladay: He's still awesome.

It's not looking like you'll have to worry about it.

Shit, I didn't even know there was a new one. Thanks for the reminder; now I can PVR it off the West Coast feed.

This is a 1-0 game if I ever saw one.

The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

That's an accomplishment for the BQs. Charla and She Who Must Not Be Named were next to last for about three legs in a row at the start, and could have (SHOULD HAVE) been eliminated any one of those times but for dumb luck (especially at the post office Roadblock). As long as Charla and SWMNBN don't win, I'm OK. I'd love to see Dustin and Kandice win, because they ran the best race by far, but I wouldn't threaten bodily harm on the producers or anything if Eric and Danielle win, like I would with that other team. I appreciated the lingering looks at the sweaty bodies of the BQ and Danielle after the scrubbing. The cousins had a bit of a brain fart at the Roadblock, btw. Mirna had only done 4 to that point, and now Charla's maxed out. BQs have an advantage over the other two there in that either one can do the task. Eric is probably hoping that the final RB has nothing to do with geography (specifically, flags) and memory. BTW, the final stops: -

The league office confirmed it. You say that as if it's a rarity. I don't see how leaving New Jersey with home ice advantage is "not lookin' good," either.

A split was all I was really looking for anyway. But Ottawa should have had this game; Brodeur absolutely stole it. Did anyone hear that the Brylin goal at the end of the first period shouldn't have counted? The timekeeper started the clock late, and there was an extra second played in the period, which, of course, made the difference.
-
I had forgotten how draining OT can be when you're actually invested in the outcome. Ottawa hasn't played a 2OT game since Game 6 against Toronto in 2004.
-
We listened to the game in the car on the way back from a family function, picking it up with about 3 minutes left in the first. We'd just gotten back into Ottawa when Heatley scored the GTG, and we went berzerk. I'm hoping for a short OT, given that Ottawa will start on the power play.

The second period of this Vancouver-Anaheim game was some of the best hockey I've seen so far in the playoffs. 33 total shots, and some fantastic goaltending at both ends to only let two of them into the net.
-
Yes, one team actually has one.

Gotta date tomorrow; drunk tonight.

Too bad. -
A rather obscure streak will come to an end tonight, barring a miracle comeback. This (soon-to-be) 7-game Yankee losing streak is the first since September 25-October 1, 2000. The Yankees had the longest active stretch without a 7-game losing streak in the majors. They haven't had an eight-gamer since 1995, and they're two games (and three outs) away from their first nine-game losing streak in twenty-five years.

He needs some anger management classes if he's going to fly into a rage like that after a WIN.

Looks like 2006 Josh Towers is putting in an appearance for Toronto this evening. Two good innings, then BAM! Three home runs and it's 5-0 Texas.

Who are we talking about here?
