Based on this game, I put Oden returning for his sophomore year as only a 3:2 underdog.

Actually, they're pretty fun. I won my pool at work two years running before I switched jobs. I'd probably go with Kariya or Selanne first, although Briere would be another good pick.

It's like shooting fish in a barrel, so I'll only pick one from Mister Dubya: "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."
-
Furyk never does particularly well at Augusta, for whatever reason. Only three top-10s in 10 appearances. Call me crazy, but I think I'm sticking with that Tiger fellow.

This is actually an interesting system he has going. Hire one guy to coach most of the regular season, then take over for the playoffs. Obviously, he knows he's better in short bursts than for an entire season.

I've seen some people ask for it, so here's the thread. If you want to predict other stuff (rookie of the year, home run champ, next guy to be named in the steroid probe, etc.), go ahead. American League: East Boston New York (wild card) Toronto Baltimore Tampa Bay Central Minnesota Cleveland Detroit Chicago Kansaas City West Los Angeles Oakland Texas Seattle Playoffs: Los Angeles over New York, Boston over Minnesota, Los Angeles over Boston National League: East Philadelphia New York Atlanta Florida Washington Central Chicago Milwaukee St. Louis Houston Cincinnati Pittsburgh West Los Angeles San Diego (wild card) Colorado Arizona San Francisco Playoffs: Philadelphia over San Diego, Los Angeles over Chicago, Philadelphia over Los Angeles World Series: Philadelphia over L.A. Angels AL MVP: Vladimir Guerrero, Angels AL Cy Young: Johan Santana, Twins NL MVP: Alfonso Soriano, Cubs NL Cy Young: Jake Peavy, Padres

Jays blow a 3-0 first-inning lead, but win 5-3 in 10 innings. Decent start to the season.
-
No, Zell is buying Tribune Co., and the Cubs will be sold to someone else after the season.
-
Figures, he only homers when the Yankees already have the lead.
-
It hasn't been such a hell of a game, but the Jays and Tigers are doing the exact same thing.
-
Wow, did Contreras ever get pounded. Eight runs on eight hits and a walk in one inning of work.

The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

Unfortunately, it was pretty obvious by the end of the first hour that the Guidos were going to be eliminated. There was no way they were going to make up half an hour on the other two teams on their bus, especially when the Intersection forced them to team up with a team that knew they only had to stay with the Guidos to not be eliminated. Poor planning on the producers' part. -
Morgan Pressel became the first teenager ever to win a major, winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship after a terrible meltdown by Suzann Pettersen, who coughed up a four-shot lead with four to play.

Finally? They did this last year.

Watching The Masters in HD is going to be like watching a work of art come to life.

I may have a problem meeting the minimum innings requirement this week with Garcia on the DL, and no way to pick anyone up before Tuesday since everyone is on waivers.
-
The Leafs-Rangers game tomorrow night could very well determine who'll make the playoffs and who won't.
-
20 games (or fewer) left in the regular season. Time to begin the playoff push. Tomorrow is a rare interesting slate of Friday games -- Pittsburgh at Carolina, Toronto at New Jersey, Ottawa at Atlanta, Montreal at Buffalo and San Jose at Anaheim are all key matchups. Henrik Zetterburg is out 2-3 weeks for the Red Wings with an injured back.

That was a horrible goal they gave up to Crosby. How do you leave the league's top scorer uncovered at the side of the net at all, let alone give him time to kick the puck to his stick in that position? It's looking like a four-team race for the last three spots in the East now. The Islanders are done without DiPietro. Ottawa just destroyed them.

Nieve got sent down? You're joking. I had Nieve pegged as the fifth starter late in the week.

This is the first program I'm watching on my new HD PVR. It is AWESOME.

Relive the Megapowers vs. Megabucks angle, right here. These are all VERY well done, almost professionally so: Part 1: - Promo by DiBiase claiming he will buy the WWF title - Interview with Jack Tunney on DiBiase's offer - Promo by Hogan rejecting the offer - Promo by DiBiase claiming he'll get the title another way Part 2: - Andre's attack on Hogan following Hogan/Bundy on SNME in January 1988, where the whole face locker room can't get Andre off Hogan - DiBiase promo introducing Andre as the man who'll deliver him Hogan's title - Hogan/Andre contract signing for The Main Event - Hogan training vignette - Hogan's entrance on The Main Event Part 3: - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant, The Main Event, February 1988 (clipped) - Post-match promo with DiBiase and Andre - Announcement by Jack Tunney declaring the WWF title vacant and announcing the title tournament at WrestleMania IV Part 4: - Randy Savage vs. Ted Dibiase, Saturday Night's Main Event, March 1988 (joined in progress) - Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant, WrestleMania IV, WWF title tournament - second round Part 5: - Hogan/Andre (continued) - Randy Savage vs. Ted Dibiase, WrestleMania IV, WWF title tournament - final (joined in progress) Part 6: - Megapowers vs. Megabucks, Summerslam 88 (clipped) Watch the Savage promo introducing Hogan as his partner that I posted earlier, and it's pretty much complete.
