That's a horrible idea. They may as well not play OT if that happens. Every team would just hang back and wait for the shootout. That's not hockey. No they wouldn't, they would play for the win because a shootout is a coin flip. and its 4 on 4, you cnat sit back 4 on 4. If both teams are guaranteed a point if they play a shootout, every team in the league would wait for the shootout than take their chances in OT where they get nothing if they lose. That's why the extra point for OT losses was introduced in the first place, because teams started playing for the tie and the guaranteed point more often than they'd take their chances to get a win.

It sounds like the Astros just couldn't hit worth shit for the first half of the series. Crappy pitching can still beat REALLY crappy hitting, and Livan was still pretty good at this point.

Well, there's two off my list. Dammit.

What could they possibly have to say that would fill up a half-hour NFL show at this time of year? Are they doing a five-part detailed analysis of the Pro Bowl?

Please tell me this isn't a prelude to another Cock Shots thread.

True but if Vince McMahon really wants to give the middle finger to Hulk Hogan, inducting Randy Savage now would be a great way to do it. Are Vince and Hogan fighting again? Don't ge me wrong I'd love to see Randy Savage go on a long-winded rant directed at Hulk Hogan. I'd buy the WrestleMania 23 DVD for this alone if it happened. And yes, Vince and Hogan are having another lover's quarrel.

Even a team that's a 9-1 favourite over another team to win any given game will get taken to seven games once every 75 series. And it's incredibly rare (maybe impossible) for ANY baseball team to be that big a favourite over any other team. The worst teams still win a third of their games.

B and C are obviously ACC teams. Without looking, I think they're Clemson and Maryland in some order, as I think they're the only teams to have played that many games other than Carolina and Duke. They're both in. I actually know who A is. Looking at just those numbers, I'd say no, but , so they're in. D, I have no clue who they are. They'd be a borderline team in my mind. So, I'd probably rank them B,C,A,D based just on these criteria.

So much for my Ernie prediction. He went down 4 & 2 to Bradley Dredge.

No upsets so far. Ogilvy, Immelman and DiMarco breeze into the second round, none of them making it to the 16th hole. Stephen Ames is taking out last year's frustrations on Robert Karlsson. Ames is 7-up as they make the turn.

This one I actually agree with. Michigan State fans storming the court after beating Wisconsin is like Duke fans storming Cameron after beating Carolina. Act like you've been there before.

Probablistically, it's the most common result. You'd have to have one team be about a 2-1 favourite over the other to have any other result be more probable.

Looks like my favourite match is getting knocked out this round. -
Yes, he was cutting a promo on Big Show when Jericho interrupted. I still remember the huge roar when "JERICHO" appeared on the Titantron.

I know what you were trying to say, but I just found this really funny. "This team should win unless they play poorly and lose."

For some reason, I thought someone had Mike Awesome, but I guess not.

Speaking of odd coaching moves, it looks like Ron Rivera is about to be let go by the Bears.

I watched it. When I was 8.

Life sure is rough for Tom Brady. He may have to dump his current hot girlfriend to go back to his previous hot girlfriend. Or only make $10 million a year after child support instead of $15 million. Sucks to be him.

Apparently Zito completely reworked his delivery in the offseason. Giants coaches were unimpressed.

You mean the ones that lost 21 straight to start the season? Yeah, that would have made for a competitive series. Al already covered this, but you're clearly thinking of another team. The '88 Mets went 15-6 in their first 21 games. He thought you were talking about the '88 Orioles, since we were talking about the '89 team. Yes, that's it exactly.
