    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

NBC has Game 7. They got every game from Game 4 onward so the Cup could be presented on NBC.

That was one of the greatest saves I've EVER seen in my nearly 32 years on this earth.

What an awesome period of hockey by the Oilers. How much are Carolina fans gripping right now?

Not compared to Wade. This is his eighth year in the league.

See, that's not fair, because I would have said "hit into a double play" if I didn't know there were two outs. Blue Jays get 1st and 2nd, none out, with the top of the order up, and don't score. Sheeeeit.

Hey, A-Rod struck out with the bases loaded and two out in a tie game. Discuss.

The Jays never win these low-scoring games, for some reason. Hopefully, they can do something against the Marlins bullpen, but since this would give them a season-high FOUR game win streak if they pulled this out, I'm not very optimistic.

    Roland Garros Thread.

Hopefully the shoulder injury that caused him to retire today isn't serious.

Brind'Amour would be my choice. Ward was good, but he wasn't dominant, like Conn Smythe-winning goalies tend to be. Interesting question...if Edmonton wins, and remembering that it's the award for playoff MVP and not finals MVP, would you still give the Conn Smythe to Roloson?

I just found out that MLB.com's "maximum" of 25 online All-Star ballots is just a suggestion. I lost count at 50. This year was the first year I've ever put a write-in candidate on my ballot (Alex Rios, only 4th in the league in OPS).

I'm watching the Mariners/A's game on FSN Northwest. I have to say, they have a great announce team, especially Dave Henderson. One of the best analysts I've heard. I could listen to him all day.

The best performances of this decade

Josh Charles as Dan Rydell on "Sports Night" (ABC). Brought more depth to his character than anyone on any comedy that I've seen.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm preferring NBC's coverage to CBC's coverage right now.

OMG MADDOX TO THE YANKEEEEESSS!!! MELKY CABRERA ST8 UP!! Lets see if the Cubs want to trade with the Os again..reunite Maddux with Mazzone. I dont know who the Os would have to offer for him though. What would the Os gain by trading a young guy for a pitcher with only a year or two left at best? They're not going anywhere this year. Maddux would get shelled in the AL at this point in his career anyway.

Fun stat: the Blue Jays are 27th in the majors in IP by starters. And they have a starter who's pitched into the ninth inning four times. Take Halladay out, and this team is only ahead of the Royals. The trend continues tonight, as Scott Downs went only two innings.

3-2 Oil after one period. They're just teasing me at this point.
