Proven veteran closer? Anyway, his ERA just rocketed over 7, despite having 16 saves. Shows you what a meaningful stat the save is.

Final line on the Tigers' pen in the 8th: Walker: 0.1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 K Rodney: 0.0 IP, 3 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 K, 1 HR Jones: 0.0 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, 0 K Seay: 0.2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K 12 men to the plate, 8 runs. What a meltdown.

And the Jays get two more off Jones, and now lead the Tigers 7-5. EDIT: Another run, 8-5.

How on earth can the team with the best record in the majors have a closer with an ERA over 5.50 and an opponents' batting average over .300? Oh yeah, the Blue Jays just tied the game against Todd Jones. Still 1st and 3rd, 1 out.

This is shaping up to be a Jays loss unless they can put a bunch of runs on the board. Chacin's already thrown 60 pitches in the third inning, and the bullpen is dead tired.

There's a list of players taking amphetamines as long as my arm. Nobody who's found to be taking greenies will surprise me.

No, Ralphie had some good stuff. The whole I wish I was black schtick worked and he did it well, but it wasn't all he had. Maybe it worked for him, but it still doesn't make it funny. Depends on your view of what's funny. Depending on the set, I found him either offensive or hysterical. No in-between.

There doesn't have to be an equal distribution of that 4/5 everywhere. The ones who frequent this folder are unlikely to be part of that 4/5. Some of the people in the WWE folder...well, that's another story.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, we need pitching help. There's only one starter who can go all the way to Ryan, and even he can't do it every time out. The weird thing is, even though they've only won three straight once all year, the Jays are still 7 games over .500 and only 2 1/2 out of the division lead.
-
Miami should be leading by more than 9 with the disparity in FG shooting this wide.

Are little kids allowed to do ANYTHING anymore?

Quite the pitcher's duel going on in Kansas City. The Rangers are leading the Royals after 3 innings, 11-8. Both starters are gone after allowing a total of 17 runs in a combined 4 2/3 innings.

What's the ML record for most hits without an extra-base hit in one game? Whatever it is, the Blue Jays are threatening it, with 13 hits, all singles, against the O's.

Define "big situation." I got so tired of hearing this, that I went and looked it up. A-Rod's OPS for this year: Overall: .919 Runners on: .977 RISP: 1.072 RISP, 2 out: 1.094 Please don't make up some dumb situation like OPS when the bases are loaded with two out in the late innings when the Yankees are within 3 runs, either.

Which is funny, because Nikki Payne is the last person I want to see there. I'd take Dat Phan in the house again over her. Speaking of Dat Phan, in the first episode, did anyone notice how they hyped how well Heffron and Bodden were doing, but didn't even mention Dat Phan? Because Dat was the least funny guy in that house, and shouldn't have won? His whole gimmick was looking Asian, cutting a few jokes in an accent, and then speaking un-accented English. I remember him pulling that on Leno right after winning, and like five people laughing at that bit. He killed his best joke by getting on TV. His only joke. There were only three people in that house that weren't funnier than him. I would have voted for Mordal, Vos, Kahaney, Ralphie May, Geoff Brown and Rob Cantrell before him.

Listening to Tommy Lasorda makes me want to rip my ears off. He's been a guest on the Jays broadcast for the third inning, and he's yammered non-stop for 20 minutes and completely taken over the broadcast.

That's sweat? I thought it was a shadow. If it's sweat, the guy even sucks at sweating.

I watch the World and European Cups whenever they're held. I also watch a little Premier League and Champions League. I've never watched NASCAR for more than ten consecutive minutes in my life.

All good points, but no one has gotten to the most ridiculous statement Hogan made:
-
I can't believe the big guy who went to prison didn't make it. He was the funniest guy I saw all night. Kathy Griffin even came out and said he killed after his set was done.

Bunk. It'll blatantly benefit the Canadian team in what will probably be the last time we see NHLers in the Olympics, if that. This is borderline cheating. I don't think there's anything borderline about it. The size of the ice is explicitly laid out in the IIHF rules.

Twice in one week, even. He was faster Monday night.
