But Shea Hillenbrand comes through and wins the game with a walk-off HR in the 11th. 10th series win of the season...this would be a terrific time for the first sweep of the year.

Yep. Only the second run he's given up, too.

I watch so many games now where I wonder if the refs even know what travelling is anymore.

Any word on whether the Yankees game is likely to resume? I want to see what creative way KC comes up with to lose this one.

That lineup would have trouble with the Kansas City Royals.

Say hello to Henry Blanco, starting catcher. And say goodbye to any production in the 8 spot.

Now Posada is out for a few days with a torn hamstring tendon. The hits just keep on coming...

Dick Bavetta's been at the centre of most refereeing controversies in the past 10 years.

With Towers gone, they might have a shot. Taubenheim was a stud for Syracuse this season (2-2, 1.36 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 2.4 K/BB in 7 starts). If he can harness some of that at the major-league level, the Jays have a chance to get something going.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

In 2004? I remember the Mighty Ducks being in like 13th place or something because he couldn't do his job He played about as well in the regular season in 03-04 as he did in 02-03. They missed the playoffs because they were nearly dead last in scoring. They didn't have ANYONE who could put the puck in the net.

    NBA Conference Finals

It's been said many times in the past month, but it bears repeating: I can't remember a greater playoff year than this one.

There's your offensive foul on Dallas. I couldn't see it, but the refs couldn't possibly be wrong.

    The Old School questions thread

That's the match I was thinking of. From Souled Out 2000. That was actually Deano's last WCW match.

If not for Nash, Dallas would be running away with this game.

    Planning a road trip

Ever been to the Tops there? Yikes. No, I actually didn't want to get out of the car. Quite honestly, I haven't been to a city in western/upstate NY that I would ever want to return to. Some nice suburbs, but the cities themselves are awful.

    Planning a road trip

Niagara Falls, Ontario is a nice place. My sister worked at a hotel on Clifton Hill for two years. Restaurants near the Falls are bloody expensive, though -- a restaurant downtown can cost 30% more than the exact same restaurant further away. Niagara Falls, New York, however, is a hole, and should be avoided at all costs.
