Hey, I had him in a fantasy league 6 years ago. I had no idea he was even still around.

    2006 NFL Off-Season

About the single-season pro football passing record...you can't realistically compare CFL stats with NFL stats, because the games are too different. Having only three downs make teams pass a LOT more. Case in point: This past season, three CFL QBs threw for over five thousand yards, while only two RBs rushed for more than 1200 yards (in an 18 game season). Put an NFL-calibre QB in a CFL offense, and he'll get close to the record every season. A guy like Marino or Elway or Manning could probably top 7000 yards in a season. Flutie was a guy who was too good for the CFL, not quite good enough for the NFL.

    Giving up beef!

Not to mention that lean beef is one of the best sources of iron there is.

    The Old School questions thread

    1. The feud began during the cross-promotion with MTV, after Piper attacked Cyndi Lauper, who had just presented Hogan with an award at a MSG show at the end of 1984. The tag match at Wrestlemania was the blowoff -- hard to have a real blowoff when neither guy will job to the other. Piper started turning face during the boxing match with Mr. T at WM2, and was cemented when he came back to the WWF following WM2, and Adrian Adonis had stolen his talk show and Bob Orton. 2. It's hard to explain what made Savage so great. His offense was in stark contrast to nearly everyone else on the roster, and was especially unique for a top heel at the time. He was a guy who made you hate him with his interviews and his antics, but respect him with his in-ring work. He was getting face pops all the time after the match with Steamboat at Wrestlemania III, but he was solidified as a face during a match with the Honky Tonk Man on SNME late in 1987 where the seeds for the Megapowers angle with Hogan were first planted. Savage took a massive beating from Honky and the Hart Foundation after the match, until Elizabeth went to the back and got Hogan to make the save, which led to the famous handshake. 3. Bad News lost clean to Hogan on the SNME immediately before Wrestlemania V. 4. I would imagine Vince wanted to give Hogan one last big moment, without having to have his big monster heel job cleanly to a guy who was supposedly retiring. Of course, Sid left shortly thereafter, so it really didn't make a difference.

Only if we go out and buy a $45 Oilers hat, and return it after the playoffs are over. Me personally, the Oilers have always been my 2nd favourite team. Plus there's the whole national pride thing.

Lolz. I'm guessing those only popped up in Canuckia. And/or Boston, but it's not like they count either. More like ESPN.com and Fox Sports.

Janssen lost his perfect game in the 6th. I'm going to bed.

2nd and 3rd with none out and the Jays only get one run. Only 2-0, damn.

Confidence vs. arrogance. Huge difference. Who told Kobe that sweater vest looked good?

Wow, Duncan's just having a huge half. The Spurs should be up by more than just one point.

Janssen's looking great again for the Jays. He certainly seems to have the Angels' number.

Bring on the Ducks. These are going to be two fabulous series.

I'd agree with this. When he first came in, David Robinson was still getting all the recognition in San Antonio. Then Shaq and Kobe stole the spotlight in the West when the Lakers started winning titles. Meanwhile, Duncan's just played awesomely the entire time and been very quiet about it. He's certainly the most unassuming superstar in the league. I'd go so far as to call Duncan the Pete Sampras of basketball. Not flashy, not a big personality, but supremely talented.

It's going to be so much easier to cheer for the Oilers this year than it was for the Flames two years ago. I loved the Oilers when I was a kid and didn't like the Flames at all. Messier was my favourite player by far.

I cannot believe how solid Roloson has played all playoffs. He was one of the big reasons the Oilers nearly missed the playoffs.

I can't imagine you'd get very far, then. In the epic battle of One Man v. System, System wins in a squash.

I've never understood why someone who hates the sports media so much wants to be a part of it.

San Jose's power play is atrocious. I don't think I've ever seen a team get shut down this badly.

You may be the only one, aside from Detroit fans. LeBron vs. D-Wade? I'm up for that.
