Anyone think Tortorella doesn't make it to next season? I'm starting to lean that way. He's going to lose the entire team pretty soon, if he hasn't already.

I watched that, and I thought they were booing Alfredsson. I think they were just booing the fact there was a Tampa penalty. Good, solid win tonight. This series shouldn't go back to Florida.

The non-partisan voice has spoken. In semi-related news, Keith Jackson announced his retirement from ABC. A little sad, but it was probably the right time for him. 77 is pretty old to still be doing play-by-play.

That's because we're all used to the rules being softened for the playoffs, and thrown out entirely in playoff overtime. I have no problems with penalties being called, as long as they're consistent.

I can actually see where he's coming from on the flag issue. Where do you draw the line? Do you lower the flag only for those killed by enemy fire? What about by friendly fire? How about if they weren't killed in combat, but a training accident here at home? I'm OK with honouring all fallen soldiers on Remembrance Day. As for the media thing...well, unless it's a state funeral, isn't a funeral supposed to be a private mourning? I know if I was attending such a funeral, I'd probably kick the ass of any photographer that happened to get in my way. And what do you want the feds to do about Caledonia? The protest itself is a provincial matter. The feds are part of the negotiating team as it relates to the land claim, but handling the protest is in the hands of the OPP. The GST thing sucks, and it is a backtrack, but the Tories are finding out what every party that's transitioned from Opposition to government is finding out: It's a million times easier to say something in Opposition than it is to do it in government.

Habs killed off a double minor with 5 minutes to go. One of the best long penalty kills I've seen. Another overtime...

In what sense? They missed clues, they constantly picked the worst Detour option, and they were continually bitching about how far behind they were. They were lucky they weren't eliminated in the first leg. No, give me Teri and Ian for racing ability (particularly in the second half of their race) and Dave and Margueretta for sheer likability.

Flyers are up 3-1. They still have a chance, although I'm sticking with Buffalo to win the series.

Yeah, I had to look twice when I read that article in this morning's paper. Quinn does seem like Clarke's ideal head coach, though (not that I think Hitchcock is on his way out or anything).

Funny how when a pest plays for your own team, he's doing an awesome job, but when he plays for the other team, he's a little bitch. About the same attitude I have toward Darcy Tucker. Anyway, if Dingman thought fighting Neil was going to send a message, it obviously didn't have the desired effect, judging by how the game ended. It was a stupid move that just showed that Tampa Bay had completely lost their cool. Even Tortorella bitched out Dingman in a post-game interview. Oh, and Neil would have fought Dingman 10 times out of 10 if that was a regular-season game. He's the toughest guy on the team aside from McGrattan.

Don't cross him.

Say what you want about Neil, but him suckering Dingman into a seven-minute penalty was brilliant. If you're going to be stupid enough to drop the gloves in the postseason, at least make sure the other guy's going to go. He single-handedly killed any chance the Lightning had of coming back in the third.

This is an amazing hockey game. Lots of goals, and lots of fights.

Thank God for the Dingman instigator penalty and the two goals scored on the extended power play, or I might be sweating this game right now. As it is, 7-4 Ottawa with 6 minutes left.

Some SERIOUS hate going on in Tampa. I love it. Did anyone hear the anthems before this game? Worst anthems I've ever heard that weren't comically bad. Even the CBC announcers commented on how bad they were before the game started.

Going to OT in Raleigh. If Montreal wins this game, there's no way they're losing the series. Two different guys got hat tricks for Buffalo tonight. Flyers just got flat-out embarrassed. I can't wait to see the Philly crowd on Wednesday.

Just got back from the Sens game. I wasn't at all surprised with the result; in fact, I was surprised the Sens were in the game for as long as they were. They were doomed by a bunch of sloppy play in their own end, and trying to go for style points and artistic goals in the offensive zone. I counted at least a half-dozen times when they made one pass too many on a play in the offensive zone. Coach Murray even said as much during the post-game interview. If they shoot more instead of trying for the pretty play, they probably win 6-4.

Only one thing I'm not looking forward to about tonight's game...they're giving away Thunderstix. I HATE Thunderstix. I want to find whoever thought Thunderstix were a good idea and slap him silly.
