I'm OK with one, but if everyone else wants to do two, that's fine too.

The Cy Young/MVP argument in baseball is that pitchers only play every five days. Can't make that argument for goalies. There are some years where a goalie is clearly the MVP (Hasek with the Sabres, for example). Kiprusoff would definitely make my final 3 this year.

It shouldn't make any difference where they were picked to finish. "Experts" have been dead wrong before.

What DVDs would you like to see the WWE release?

I'd love to see a Best of The Great American Bash set from the 80s. Best of Starrcade, Randy Savage and Midnight Express sets would be great as well. -
Me on March 20th: San Jose's in the playoffs. I'm behind Thornton for the Hart now.

Good pick. He would've been my second choice. I see two potential problems: 1) It's awfully easy to chip a ball in the water from over the green at 12. 2) Three-putts aren't a given on the Augusta greens. I could probably score single digits on a normal day, but with 10,000 people watching me hit, it might be a little different.

Are they ever going to have a non-elimination leg? I don't remember them ever getting down to five teams before without someone getting a reprieve somewhere.

Does everyone really need to pick a different player? That could be troublesome for majors, where the first guy in with Tiger or Phil would have a significant advantage. That said, I did pick him first.

College Hoops: National Semifinals and The Championship Game

Calipari didn't take the NC State job after all. Didn't like the academic standards, thinking they couldn't be competitive with Duke and UNC. I would imagine they're pretty tough there after what happened with the NCAA probe there in 1989. I can't think they'd be too welcoming to the Chris Washburns and Charles Shacklefords. -
No, they decided to beat the 20th anniversary of Jack's last win into the ground instead. Incidentally, I watched the rebroadcast of the '86 Masters on CBS Sunday. I had the same chills I got watching it live as an 11-year-old.

I love and admire Mick Foley with all my heart, but he walked out and then came back, didn't he? Michaels does sound like a prick by saying it like that, I won't question that, but you make it sound as if there were absolutely no other jobs available to Foley at the time and that they would've gone homeless. I'm sure Mick could've found options in the indies, ECW, Japan, or maybe even WCW, so don't be so melodramatic. Who's being melodramatic? If he quit, he would've been in breach of contract. He would have had to sit out the remainder of his contract, which would have probably been at least two years (I don't know how long his initial contract was, but he signed in 1996), while not getting paid. It's not like he could just up and quit and go somewhere else -- ESPECIALLY since we're talking about 1997 and the height of the Monday Night Wars. So yeah, no job, no viable prospects.

Someone mentioned this in the Old School Questions thread... Mean Gene's blooper at Summerslam 89

All I could think of after seeing this was, "What a self-righteous, arrogant prick." Yes, Shawn, would that we could all just quit our jobs over a moral issue without any thought to the repercussions of having to support your wife and two young children without a job or any viable options.

Did you actually see the episode of OTR where Taker said this? No hostility intended, I just want to figure out what exactly is the truth. Did you hear from someone that Taker told this story on OTR, or did you see him tell it yourself? Thanks in advance... I did see this, and he never said that. Taker did say that if Shawn hadn't done the professional thing, it would have been a really long night for Shawn. But it never came to that. No mention of him taping his fists up backstage or anything.

That wins today's "Things I never thought I'd hear" award.

I'm dfeinitely in, but lemme look at the field first. What happened ten years ago this weekend? Well, it was last weekend, but that was the 10th anniversary of Norman's collapse in the Masters.

I can't see going past this round either.

I'm pretty sure that's Nicolas Coster.

Well, they feuded. I wouldn't exactly call it memorable. Nothing Austin did with DiBiase was memorable.

Anyone watching the Flames/Ducks game? Calgary scored two goals in the first :37 in the third to take a three goal lead. Oh, and I just noticed that Detroit has officially clinched the President's Trophy. Hope it works out for them as well as it's worked out for most other winners recently.
