He said yesterday that he may start practicing in pads this week. I figure probably two more weeks.

Newfoundland has lots of funny town names. Ever travel the road from Come-by-Chance to Conception Bay? I haven't, and I never want to.

On the ticker on The Score: Senators Anton Volchenkov and Wade Redden probable. Volchenkov isn't playing. They said it this morning in the paper, and they said it again on the pre-game show. And Redden hasn't missed a game since the Olympic break. He may have suffered a minor injury recently, but he hasn't missed any time. EDIT: And now Phillips is out. They're saying it's a hyperextended knee. And Meszaros just got hurt, although it looks like it's not serious. FUCKFUCKFUCK.

Volchenkov isn't coming back tonight, and Redden was never missing to start with.

Vince is living out his Hulk Hogan fantasy, right down to the ridiculous orange tan.

This is fucking embarrassing.

Oh good, I wasn't imagining that, then. Dunces.

I'm having a problem with the rotating announcements on top of the page. I just increased the font in Firefox to accommodate my new 21" monitor, and the announcements now run over top of the forum links (e.g. TheSmartMarks.com Forums > Pop Culture > Sports) and make said links unusable.

I'm good. I think I have the 30th pick anyway. Not like I'm going to need to show up on time or anything.

Happy actually. Packer said on PTI before the tournament that he didn't support the mid majors getting in cause they didn't do anything. He wanted them to do something, get to the Final Four and maybe even win it. He had kinda turned me a little to his side cause he made sense and he didn't come off as such a bitter fuck when he could explain what the fuck he meant. So Packer is probably excited. That's such a cop-out. Why is the Final Four the barometer for how well a team does? Besides that, you can't tell me that a mid-major with a solid record has a worse chance of getting to the Final Four than a BCS conference team that finished seventh or eighth or even ninth in their league with a 17-13 record. That's bullshit. The reason the major conferences win it all the time is because it's set up for them to win. The mid-majors get way fewer bids than they normally deserve, and crappy seeds much of the time. GMU getting to the Final Four is, quite honestly, a miracle.

Weir dropped out of contention after he tripled the 4th.

Oh, what a dumb foul that was.

If Tiger's not there, I'd pick Ernie Els to win. Or Mickelson.

I can't believe how badly most of these guys are playing. So many bad shots and stupid mistakes. Ames looks like he's going to get that win he deserved in '02.

When did this become the WWE forum?

Jean Van de Velde won a European Tour event today. First time in 13 years. Good for him.

I hope the wind stays up for the final round. If that happens, it should keep a lot more players in the hunt. Plus, watching them play the 17th with wind is incredible.

I did see the fight, and Brashear did try to use his knees a couple of times. Also, Brashear trying to do the Ali Shuffle before they hooked up was comical.
