Deductions for my wife's medical expenses should have us somewhere in the $2000 range. Which is almost enough to pay for our trip to Vegas in 2 weeks.

Yeah, that stuff's killer. I was never able to remember much of that. It explains the 65 I got in Mathematical Statistics, where I needed to remember it all for exams (and the 85 in Advanced Probability, where I didn't).

The list of 141 Programs Bush wants to cut or eliminate for 2007 budge

C'mon, if Bush made it to the top, how valuable can education really be, anyway? -

HEY WE WON!!! Beat the Flyers, too, which is impressive. Nice to go into the break on a positive note. Coach Murray has lots of time to try and tweak the system to beat whatever new defensive schemes opposing teams are trying on the Sens.

Yes, the men's hockey final is on live at 6am Mountain time. So 5 am Vegas time...could be worse, I suppose. I'm sure someone's going to have it on a big screen. What the hell else is there to watch at 5 in the morning?

Short-track speed skating is where it's at, baby.

How are you with probability? I've essentially had to take a crash course in it to prepare for the first actuarial exam... Pretty good...I was looking over the material for the actuarial exams when I was deciding whether to take them or not, and I've got most of that covered, although I'd need to brush up on it.

Is anyone carrying the gold-medal game for men's hockey live in the States? I'm going to be in Las Vegas that day, but I'm willing to drag myself to a sports book at 4 am if Canada's playing.

Every ad for the show is stressing that there will be teams OF TWO. They're trying to brainwash the public into forgetting that Family Edition ever happened.

Got my B.Math. (Statistics) in 1997.

They didn't even put your name in. For shame.

Boyle's on the taxi squad. I think there's a good chance he'll be on the team.

I love when North Americans tell people from other countries how to spell the name of their own town.

Just speculation here, but I'll bet more people would watch a 10-win Knicks team than would watch the Rangers winning the Stanley Cup.

I found the overnight ratings for Monday, and it held almost all of the lead-in audience from King of Queens. It's doing decently for a new show. Interestingly enough, looking at last week's ratings, it did about as well this week as last (which was a rerun).

Let the hype commence. Two weeks of it this year. Should be an interesting game...I may watch it after all. My (early) prediction: Pittsburgh 30, Seattle 28.
-
I probably couldn't do that again in 1000 tries. All the close ones bounced in instead of out.
-
Yeah, I saw this posted in someone's blog. Still funny, though.

10. He got to kiss Maria.

The whole Ted/Victoria thing was EXCRUCIATING. Barney and Robin saved this episode in a big way.

My God, I'm getting tired of the Sens losing shootouts. They haven't won one since winning those two back-to-back against the Leafs in the first week of the season.

Well, after the small scare of the first period, Ottawa's scored six straight. Apparently the Penguins can't look like an NHL team for more than one period.
-
2 shorties on the same penalty kill for Ottawa make it 2-2. But yes, Ottawa is really out of sync. Spezza hasn't looked good at all this week.
