The Rangers are leading the Atlantic Division. Watch out for the flying pigs on the way home.

OAO TV Cancellations 2005-06 Thread

Thank God. I'm loving that show. Oh, and to finish up from the previous page, Alison LaPlaca is the female Ted McGinley, not Paula Marshall. I still haven't forgiven her for ruining The John Larroquette Show. -

Wow, the Canucks are getting pounded. 3-0 Wild after 2. Of course, with the way games have been going, they could come back with 5 unanswered in the 3rd. I think I'm going to go with Colorado over Chicago in my Survivor pool (pick one winner from all Fri/Sat/Sun games each week; can't pick the same team twice; lose once and you're out). Any other team that I would consider is on the road, and I'm really trying to avoid road games. Anyone disagree?

The Amazing Race: Family Edition Thread

I liked the Aiellos. But, when you take 16 attempts at a Detour instead of bailing after 3 or 4 when you realize how insanely hard it is for you, you deserve to get booted. Plus, Tony looked like he might have dropped dead if they had to run another couple of legs. -
Not a good week. There's only two games that look interesting (NYG/DAL, NE/DEN).

This seems as good a place as any to bring it up... Al, are you actually going to the SABR convention?
-
Deuce McAllister is definitely out for the year. So much for those feel-good Saints.
-
Yeah, for the ratings it won't draw. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who cares? If you like baseball then you like watching the games and you could care less what ratings it's drawing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dama speaks the truth.

Why does it happen so often in this contest that the player with the most games correct has a losing record?

I think he was talking about the Leafs, Max. I was at the game last night, and the Leafs should be proud they even had the lead in the 3rd. They fought really hard against a superior team and caught them in a horrible mental breakdown. The Sens were cruising through the game, except for the start of the second period when they got whistled for a bunch of penalties. I don't think the Sens are going to lose many shootouts this season. Hasek's been his old brilliant self.

Link This makes me incredibly sad. Tom and Jerry made listerning to Blue Jays telecasts so enjoyable. I still remember his call of Joe Carter's home run to win the 1993 World Series: "Touch 'em all, Joe! You'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!" RIP

Well, that's a good move. I just hope they didn't kill his confidence last season.

The Big Atlantic is the SEC of this contest. Five teams in the top 10.

Marc-Andre Fleury isn't even the BACKUP in Pittsburgh. What the hell happened to him?
-
Yep.

Why not? Last year's was terrific.

King John of England. No shit.

Steve Lyons says that the Braves bullpen has been their Achilles heel with such amazement. Almost like he hasn't watched the Braves for the last 15 years.

Total slaughter on my part. I swept all 6 differing matchups.

Ottawa 5, Buffalo 0 The Good: Geez, what wasn't good? Havlat had four shorthanded breakaways and scored a goal, Redden had three points, Neil had a great game, Heatley scored twice, and Hasek was just outstanding in a 35-save shutout. The Bad: Penalties, still with the penalties. At one point, the Sens had six penalties vs. one for Buffalo. Gotta cut down on those. Record: 2-0-0 (2nd in Northeast) Next game: Monday, vs. Toronto

Hey, Baylor won a Big XII road game!

I have a hard time believing the computer polls would have Texas above Virginia Tech in this scenario. So, it would to come down to whether Texas looks impressive enough to have a solid edge over VT in the human polls, and I don't think that would happen.

The Sabres are looking a lot better than a lot of people thought they would. The game in Ottawa should be mighty entertaining...too bad I didn't get tickets; I'm stuck watching the Habs and the Leafs.
