Winner gets one in the win column. Loser gets one in the "OT" column, for overtime and shootout losses.
-
Interestingly enough, 140 of those wins came after Glen Sather was named Rangers general manager.

Since what date? That can't be all-time.

I missed something here, didn't I?

I'm on this side of the fence. You can have physicality in hockey without all the clutching and grabbing and hooking and holding that made the game die a slow death in the last decade. Once the players figure out where the line is -- and they'll have to soon, for the sake of their jobs -- the game will look a lot better.

He already has one. He's been working on College GameDay all season.

I can't see how there'd be any impact. Hardcore smarts remain hardcore smarts. The casual fans who are departing in droves wouldn't have any interest in dirtsheets.
-
And everybody on the team was saying how they could be a contender if they stayed healthy all year. So much for that.

Peavy is now not ruling out a Game 4 start. Allow me to rule it out for him, because the Padres aren't getting to a Game 4.

The Amazing Race: Family Edition Thread

LOL. That's a time-honoured race tradition as old as the race itself. -
So instead of blaming one Yankee, you're blaming all of them?

He looked good. Assisted on the second goal, +2 on the night. Came hard in the first, and was pretty steady the rest of the way. The only thing that disappointed me was the power play, but that wasn't limited to just him. Plus, he was playing on what amounted to a 2-man line most of the night. I hate to pile on Bochenski, but the kid looked lost out there at times.

SENATORS 3, LEAFS 2 (SO) The Good, Part 1: Bryan Murray making the awesome substitution of Alfredsson for Bochenski when it was obvious the rookie was in over his head a bit on the top line in his first regular-season game. Aflie scored both regulation goals, plus he potted the game-winner in the shootout. The Good, Part 2: Dominik Hasek was excellent for the most part in his first game as a Senator, stopping 23 shots and not allowing any easy goals. The Bad: It took quite awhile for the Sens to get into this game. They were sloppy and undisciplined for pretty much the first 45 minutes. If not for a good penalty kill unit, including a great kill of a 2-man advantage that straddled the second and third periods, the Leafs would have run away with this one. Toronto was only 1-for-9 on the power play. The Ugly: 19 penalties all told (plus one that was about to be called in OT when time expired). It was tough to watch in spots.

Ottawa and Toronto are going to OT. It was 1-0 Toronto forever, then 3 goals in the last 6 minutes. Bryan Murray replaced Bochenski with Alfredsson on the top line midway through the 3rd, and Alfie scored both Sens goals.

I was reading somewhere (ESPN.com?) that Brodeur was getting around the new rule by not letting the puck get to the line.

The Ducks have a pretty good shot at making the playoffs in the bottom half of the Western Conference bracket. Signing Scott Niedermayer away from the Devils gives their defense instant credibility.

Berman has the Sox/Sox series, so he will not be in Atlanta. Jason <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's worse: "back, back, back back back backbackbackbackbkbkbkGONE!" or "you can put it on the booooooooooooooooaaaard....YES!" I really can't decide. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Berman >>>>>>> Hawk

Crucial series starting today: Toronto @ Boston NY Yankees @ Baltimore Chicago White Sox @ Detroit LA Angels @ Oakland NY Mets @ Philadelphia San Francisco @ San Diego One team can clinch a playoff spot today -- Atlanta would clinch their 14th straight division title with a win over Colorado and a Philadelphia loss.

If you've looked at the race map at CBS.com, you'll have some idea of how where this race is (and isn't) going. So many things have me discombobulated... "This was the first pit stop...in The Amazing Race." The Amazing North American Map. "The Godlewskis, who were the first to arrive, will depart at 8:05 am." (I'm pretty sure it wasn't dark when everyone showed up.) -
Cristian Guzman should be about 40th on that list. And yes, I do realize it's a list of 30.

I've been in announcing hell for 10 years, and I don't see it ending anytime soon. I'd wish for another network to grab the baseball package, but I just know they'd hire Tim Fucking McCarver as the lead analyst, just to piss me off.

I knew it was going to be the Fox feed on Sportsnet. Wonderful.

Seriously, how did we get by before the ignore list was introduced?
