Are we restarting the Word Association Thread?

Four. WMVI with Hogan, Summerslam 90 with Rude, and the two PPV matches with Savage. EDIT: Come to think of it, he had a pretty good champion vs. champion match with Savage right before WMV, so make it five.

Yeah, the Spurs are looking like the 2003-04 Lakers, minus the soap opera. They're going to be just about impossible to handle.

I don't see Miami as clear favourites at all. Indiana and Detroit are plenty good enough to challenge, especially on defense, which Miami doesn't possess in nearly sufficient quantities. They're a second-round upset looking for a place to happen.

To follow up on my earlier post, doesn't this linescore just want to make you beat your head against a wall if you're a Twins fan? Minnesota 000 000 000 -- 0 13 1 Kansas City 000 000 001 -- 1 5 1

It's not getting any better with tonight's matchup. Johnson vs. Rodriguez...I may stay up and watch this one. I think Sportsnet Pacific is carrying it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't you mean Hernandez? And it should be a great game, I haven't seen Felix pitch yet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, that's what I meant. Weird game going on right now in Kansas City...the Twins and Royals are in a scoreless tie in the 9th, despite all the Twins hitters getting at least one hit each (12 total hits), and Kyle Lohse pitching a 3-hitter.

Bret Hart in 1992 -- only a one month turnaround, I think. HBK in 1995 -- lost the title in September (?) and beat Bret for the world belt at WM12. Not quite the same, but Ultimate Warrior and Goldberg were still the secondary belt holder when they won the world title. And Randy Savage was just coming off a failed bid to take Honky Tonk Man's IC title when he won the world title tournament at WM4 two months later.

I wouldn't say he was ever a full-blown heel in that stretch. He didn't do anything really heelish, besides go up against Austin. If it was a heel turn, it was one of the shortest ones ever, because he turned back three weeks later.

The Saints have had talks with San Antonio, Houston and LSU. As for the Hornets...probably LSU, at least until college basketball starts up full time.

Al the ones mentioned are terrific...here's one more that stuck out in my memory, from sometime around Summerslam 2000: "Kurt Angle, do you think you're really special because you've cashed in on the services of one Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, a 2 dollar -- no -- 50 cent -- no -- buy two get one free, does anybody have change for a nickel, slut!"

He did portray a very accurate Hitler. I remember thinking the Hitler from Last Crusade was dead-on. RIP -
That doesn't explain the NL West.

Toronto is fuckin' gangsta apparently
CanadianChris replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Current Events
North York is a part of Toronto already. Markham is not. I think you are confused between the GTA and the old Metropolitan Toronto. The GTA itself, extends from roughly Oakville to Port Hope from east-to-west, and up to and including Barrie in the north. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The GTA is pretty much any area covered by GO Transit, so that would also include Burlington and Hamilton, plus Guelph and Orangeville to the northwest and Uxbridge and Beaverton to the northeast. The city of Toronto (the "megacity") is made up of the former cities of Etobicoke, York, North York, East York, Toronto and Scarborough. It's bounded by Hwy. 27/427 and Etobicoke Creek to the West, Steeles Avenue to the north, and the Rouge River and Altona Road to the East. -
They're like states, except their leaders are generally whinier.

Steve Austin's King of the Ring 96 acceptance speech. Or, pick any good heel turn promo. Mick Foley's promo from the week after WMXIV and Bret Hart's promo the day after WMXIII come to mind.

1989-1993 Average Income 1999-2003 Average Income While I'm no economist or mathemetecian, isn't 59.9 more than 51.4? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Dunno if anyone south of the border heard about this show, but CBC had a reality show last season called Making The Cut. They had over 4,000 people apply to compete for one spot in each of the six Canadian NHL teams' training camp. There's a story at tsn.ca/hockey on the six winners. I doubt more than two of them will even crack the minor league roster, but it's a fun little story. In other news, Hal Gill accepted his qualifying offer with the Bruins, and Karel Pilar of the Leafs will miss 2-3 months with a heart condition.

Fun fact: Each of the top four teams in the AL wild card standings would be leading the NL wild card race, by as much as 4 1/2 games in the Yankees' case.

Up over $1.20 CDN per litre in Ottawa this morning, which works out to about $4 US PER GALLON. Bastids.

And all will be forgiven? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depends on how good they are.

Ryerson, I think. Old joke from when I was in school: Q: How many Ryerson University students does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Trick question - Ryerson isn't a real university!
