Easy, they were playing the Dodgers. Jason Phillips has the third-worst rate of throwing out runners in the majors. Only Piazza and Kendall are worse.

He had no choice. He couldn't accept a deal this poor and continue on after the stance he took before the lockout.

No, I think the Orioles are just planning on losing regardless. I've never seen a team dive so fast at the all-star break before. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except for the Nationals. Maybe it's something about that part of the country.

From what I've gathered, there is no penalty, because the league will never allow a team to be over the cap.

Honestly, I don't know what to think. The guy's a scumbag that deserves to go to jail, but given they at least made an effort to do right by the baby, I don't see how the father going to jail helps anything.

I realize it's really freaking close. In this case, though, it's like the difference between hitting 499 home runs and hitting 500 home runs. It's a milestone, and he didn't achieve it.

It will be alright if he doesn't tear his groin five games into the season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's what I'm worried about. He turns 41 this season, and he hasn't exactly been the picture of health throughout his career. If he goes down, they're left with Prusek and Emery, neither of which is a proven NHL goaltender.

Dominik Hasek has been retained by Ottawa. I'm still not convinced this is a good move.
-
Absolutely ridiculous. He's one of the greatest players ever. He never scored 200 points in a season, either.

PLEASE tell me they're going to put the US title on Christian, at least. Throw me a bone here.
-
And of all those, they had to pick this one to follow up on?

Words fail me.

If the guy has such a great spot, shouldn't he be allowed to win more than once in a blue moon?

I was going to, until I read all the reviews saying the OS wasn't worth shit. I decided I didn't really want my entertainment centre to be at the mercy of any version of Windows.

Even Rock isn't really an exception, because the office was behind him from the get-go. He wasn't some guy stuck wrestling pre-PPV matches against Yokozuna at any point. Anyway...it's crystal clear by now that the bookers book for Vince and Vince only.

This has been a universal truth since VKM bought the company. The only top guy that I can think of that got over by himself was Steve Austin. I could be persuaded to add Foley, but that's it.

Hell yes. I remember watching WrestleMania All Day Long thinking she'd been mainlining espresso all morning.

Edge is taller.

According to the W-L thread, he's 4-20 this year. Some push. I almost wish they hadn't done anything with him this year. Instead, they got my hopes up and dashed them on the rocks.

Newest spoilers have them heading to Panama, so that's all right. They probably stuck to the US for the first while so that they wouldn't end up with a super-ridiculous price tag for air travel. Are you kidding? That's one of the greatest things I've ever seen on TV. A recapper at another site wondered if the production guys just packed up and left them to fend for themselves in Alaska, like, "Bye! Thanks for being on our show!" Bunching may make for an "exciting" finish, but it really screws over the teams that don't make huge mistakes and bleed time in later legs, only to see their lead magically erased (thinking specifically of Uchenna and Joyce last season).

It's possible, but the normal route for underage draftees is for them to be sent back to their junior team. In the unlikely event that Crosby doesn't make the Penguins, he would probably go back for a final season with the Rimouski Rampartes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Jack is still greater, due to longevity. The key question to ask is, if Tiger's career ended today, would it be better than Jack's career? Right now, the answer is a clear no. As for the other question, Tiger's impact is clearly greater, with the Tiger Woods Foundation and his impact on junior golf, especially in inner cities and among minorities. Jordan has never done anything like that.

It's not going to last long in that spot, with MNF moving to ESPN next year.
