It kept me entertained. Definitely had a Beastie Boys vibe going for it. Plus, they fucking NAILED the A-Team gimmick. Cena WAS Hannibal Smith.

Picture of a Hindu squat, for those still interested:

Yeah, but the Raiders could've ended it despite that play. All it did was keep the drive alive. The Raiders rolled over and died, knowing they had a built-in excuse.

Hometown bonus from the judges. The guy who won the gold was Korean. For the life of me, I will ever figure out how John Daly has won two majors.

I think it's terrific for Nash, and he pretty much sewed up the Conacher Award for himself, but I don't consider it a great moment or anything, because I don't really get all excited about awards in the first place. Ask me again if he manages to lead the Suns to the NBA title.

A couple of people mentioned Cy Young's win record, but his LOSS record (316) will never be touched either.

Not quite -- apparently, she cheated on him on a Venezuelan reality show. On tape.

Wait ... I'm confused by your post. Are you saying that you feel that Brodeur is the cause of their success and that this belief is actually a misconception? Personally, I think that Brodeur is a great goalie who's life was made much, much easier by having a team play such tight and boring D in front of him. It's easy to only allow 1 or 2 goals when you only face 13 a game. The second one. I think he's a very good goalie. But the Devils don't win three Cups without that defence or the system, and they could very conceivably have won one or two with a good-but-not-great goaltender, a Mike Vernon or similar.

Plus, it'd be easier to put a hit on her and have it look like a polar bear accident or something.

How many did Phelps win last summer? I believe he won six.

No one will ever win seven gold medals in a single Olympics again. Too much media pressure.
-
My misconception: Martin Brodeur was the cause of the New Jersey Devils' success, and not the other way around.
-
You thought correctly. It happened in overtime of game 6.

ESPN.com has them in their extended standings.

LOL...GameCast (which seems to be quite a bit behind) had the 10th inning Oakland summary as: 1 run, 1 hit, 11 errors.

I think I jinxed the Jays' bullpen. Three runs in three innings against the White Sox, and they're now trailing by 2 in the 9th.

MVP isn't a measure of value over replacement player. Nash came in and the Suns won over twice as many games. Period. Miami was the fourth seed in the playoffs last year -- they didn't make nearly as big a jump with Shaq as the Suns did with Nash. Plus, the Suns were piss-poor whenever Nash was out of the lineup. Miami didn't suffer quite as bad a drop-off when they were missing Shaq. You can't look at that unless neither team made any moves besides getting rid of Shaq and Nash. I guarantee you that if the Mavs had stood pat, besides letting Nash go, they would've been in the bottom half of the conference. They went out and got players that made the team better. The Lakers got the wrong players, and never adequately replaced anyone they lost last year -- point guard, power forward, center, head coach. It wasn't just Shaq that left.

That's a lot of assuming.

Not a chance. They would need to play 23-25 games over .500 the rest of the way for that to happen. With only half a starting rotation, an average bullpen, half a batting order, and no bench, they have no shot at being that good. Mussina's record belies his poor start to the season. He's had only 2 quality starts in 6 starts overall (and they lost one of those games). A WHIP of 1.67 means he's gotten extremely lucky to only have an ERA of 4.50. He's due to get rocked soon.

I use KCEasy and it seems to work pretty well. KaZaa Lite has been dead for over a year.

The cameras may have something to do with it.

Honestly, I don't see rebuilding in the Yankees' future for as long as Steinbrenner owns the team. I don't think he can even stomach the thought of rebuilding. They were only able to get where they were in the mid-90s because he was suspended at the start of the decade.

Rays are piling on. It's 8-2 after 4. Wenn got chased in the 3rd. He now has an ERA near 20.

Deleted.

Totally incorrect. Las Vegas is one of the fastestr-growing cities in the country, it's far from "just a tourist town". There IS more to Vegas outside of the Strip, I hope y'all know... It's still not THAT big. It has somewhere around the 50th-largest TV market in the US. Plus, income of families (presumably the desired demographic) is well below the national median.
