    The Amazing Race 7

How the hell are Meredith and Gretchen still in this race? They got a huge-ass lead at the start of the leg and did everything humanly possible to give it back. Kudos to Romber for busting their asses when they realized how much trouble they were in. Almost makes up for calling the two leading teams stupid. (I took off points for meanness, not for inaccuracy.)

Unless I'm mistaken, he won't get that chance. He'll be sent down when Wang is called up to join the rotation. But I could be wrong. Both deserve a chance. Bean has a career 11.68 K/9 rate in the minor leagues, along with a reasonable walk rate and very low HR rate. And according to Baseball Prospectus, Wang's projections were every bit as good as Jaret Wright's, before Wright's injury. Is that really saying much? Well, when one is paid $7 Million, and one is paid $300,000, it says alot about your franchise. Yeah, it says Steinbrenner wipes his ass with 300 grand.

Jason White is destined to be another great college quarterback who will never have any kind of meaningful career in the pros. He's been labelled as not having a pro arm, and that's going to stick with him. Character only gets you so far. He'll be in great company -- look at guys like Wuerffel, Ward, Frazier, and Crouch. All outstanding college QBs whose games never translated to the pros.

Anyone here ever tried a diet?

Shouldn't you be cutting salad dressing out completely? You ever eaten a salad with no dressing? I'm sorry I can't do it. Tastes like well nothing......and I don't like the texture of the lettuce. But the dressing makes it better. Maybe fat free ranch instead? Oil and vinegar would probably work best. Anything that's not egg-based.

    Can Venis' Career Be Saved?

Eh. No one else in the Ministry was really killed by that gimmick. The Acolytes should've been buried by it, and they turned out OK.

    Judgment Day card

What happens to JBL after losing to Cena in an I QUIT match? They could kill off his whole character in a month after building it for a year if they're not careful, and that would be a damn shame, because he's probably the best character on the show right now (certainly on the heel side).

    Christian is OVER

I think Christian did great for what his role was (and let's face it, that pretty much had to be his role). He got a terrific reaction, and he carried himself amazingly well. Hopefully the office was watching. I really think he's at least as ready, if not more, to be on the top level than Edge right now.

    Can Venis' Career Be Saved?

Morley isn't anywhere near in a position to be put with anyone in the upper tier. If creative cared, they might be able to come up with something that might lead somBWAHAHAHAHAHAHA I couldn't even type that with a straight face, sorry.

    Christian is OVER

Could someone explain to me how Christian is not on the card at the PPV? He's probably one of the five most over guys on the show right now.

    Christian is OVER

The segment with Flair was probably the best promo work he has EVER done. It wasn't gold, it was PLATINUM. I really think they're building to Christian going to SmackDown straight into a ready-made program with Cena. Hopefully they'll give him a chance to run with it if that's the case.

    This Week In Baseball

Average winning % of the top 5 teams in productive outs last year: .455. None of them made the playoffs, and only the Giants came close. Maybe that's why ESPN isn't tracking it so far this year. What a laughably bad statistic.
  22. Yeah remember how many NFL players were considered obese? A lot of NFL players ARE obese. Just look at Gilbert Brown.

What was the feud going into these matches?

WMVIII - The match was made before they tacked the angle on. Flair was originally supposed to face Hogan at Mania, but he was "retiring" afterward, so they decided to go with Savage in the title match. The angle was that Flair published doctored photos of Liz and himself in WWF Magazine (the ones I remember were the poolside and stable shots), while promising a big centerfold to come down from the rafters at Mania. This, of course, drove Savage nuts. It was later revealed that the photos were all of Savage and Liz, and Flair just Photoshopped himself in place of Savage. BatB 95 - Yes, Flair did beat down Angelo Poffo, Savage's dad, after a tag match between Flair/Vader and the Megapowers at Slamboree. SuperBrawl VI - The culmination of a short WCW title feud, started when Savage lost the title to Flair at Starrcade 95, and they swapped the title again between Starrcade and SuperBrawl. No real issue of note besides the title and the fact that these guys hated each other.

What was the feud going into these matches?

This was one of the two big blowoffs for the Hogan-Orndorff feud that had been running since the summer of 1986, the other being at the Big Event in Toronto. Right after Piper and Orndorff lost to Hogan and Mr. T at WrestleMania, Piper had Orndorff on as a guest on Piper's Pit, blamed him for the loss, and attacked him along with Bob Orton. Hogan and T made the save, turning Orndorff face. Orndorff was positioned in the midcard, feuding with Hogan's enemies. After WrestleMania 2, Orndorff and Hogan started tagging together, but Orndorff was growing increasingly jealous of what he perceived was Hogan always grabbing the spotlight. It was sparked by an appearance on Adrian Adonis' Flower Shop, where Adonis accused him of being in Hogan's shadow, and Hogan was too busy to answer a phone call made by Orndorff to refute it. They had a match against the Moondogs the following week on Superstars, with Orndorff doing all the work in his team's victory, and Hogan oblivious to what was going on. The following week, again on Superstars, it was Hogan and Orndorff against Studd and Bundy. Orndorff, trying to showboat, tried to slam Studd and was unsuccessful. In came Hogan, who slammed Studd with ease. Orndorff spent the rest of the match pouting in the corner, and when Orndorff finally made the save for Hogan later in the match, he helped him to his feet...and then viciously clotheslined him to the mat, then piledrove him. Orndorff would be celebrated in the locker room after the match by the Heenan Family, and the feud was on. It was supposed to be Tyson as special guest ref, but they switched to Douglas when he knocked Tyson out just a week or so prior to the match. The match had no significant feud, other than the long-established Savage-Hogan feud that had been running for the past year; it was just meant to give Hogan a big match on their prime-time NBC card.
