Nah, the ESPN Sunday Night crew is a lot worse than him. It's close, but Dierdorf still takes it. He says more dumb things more often than pretty much anyone. Actually, Tim McCarver could give him a run, but that'd be about it.
-
Incidentally, that the Rams and Vikings are going to the playoffs and the Bills and Jaguars aren't is criminal.
-
Dan Dierdorf is the dumbest person on TV right now.
-
I've never seen so many double posts that come from different posters.
-
Haslett will probably come back anyway after coming so close to the playoffs, so making the playoffs definitely wins.

No. Child abuse would be being raised to be a Cardinals fan. Actually, I think being a Montreal Expos fan or Milwaukee Brewers fan is worse. Worse: Clippers fan.

Me too. I still have a Bobby Hebert/Morten Andersen/Rickey Jackson T-shirt from high school.

Give me a break...the guy didn't lead with his helmet at all. His arms were way out in front of him.

Fit Adam Archuleta for the goat horns. He caught a playoff spot and dropped it.
-
And now it's St. Louis by 3 with 5 minutes left.

It's not going to matter, I'm afraid. 27-26 Rams pending the convert.

Dammit, now I have to go back on my word... Given that I haven't said WORD ONE about who will win the game or by how much, with the exception of my pick in Bored's contest, I'll take that retraction right now. In fact, I'll go one better: If you can find me one statement where I said OU would get blown out in the Orange Bowl, or that OU wasn't worthy to be in the game, since the matchup was announced, I will accept a full and complete banning from this forum. Sass and Al, I apologize for my past few posts in this thread, but I'm fed up with objectivity getting shit on in this forum.
-
I am absolutely sick to death of this statement. Sick of it. Show me all the posts in this folder where I don't give OU any credit. I want the proof, and I want it right now, or I want you to retract this statement and shut the hell up about it. This will be my last post in this thread...probably for good.
-
But then what difference does this statement make: It's statements like that that make me shake my head.

Your logic is so faulty I don't even know where to start. First of all, OU's O-line isn't playing USC's O-line. Comparing one to the other is nonsensical, because they won't come into contact. There's no matchup. Secondly, they're playing USC's D-line, which is likewise the best in the country. It's silly to say that one will definitely handle the other. The fact is, because they're both so good, we just don't know. That's why they're playing the game. Thirdly, USC doesn't have to have a O-line better than OU's O-line. All they have to do is have an O-line better than OU's D-line. Do they? It's hard to tell.

I think the media is pretty fair about covering coaches. They'll usually call out the guys who are doing a shitty job -- guys like Mike Martz, Bob Brenly, Tim Floyd, etc. usually get blasted in the media for doing a bad job in whatever their current position happened to be.

Hey I just want everyone to know the strengths of my team. On top of that I think they have like 39 sacks on the season. How many times has Leinart been sacked? He may not be used to the pressure. You could say the same about Jason White. USC's D-line has been even better than that with 46 sacks. That's the battle that will be the most interesting to watch. Yeah but I think OU's O-Line is better than USC's defensive line whereas OU's D-Line may have the advantage. Why am I not surprised?

Well, according to ESPN, it looks like Tony Dungy is going to try and get Edgerrin James the rushing title, so they're going to put forth at least some sort of effort. Plus, I would think Peyton Manning would like to get to 50, so there's that too.

I was driving to Montreal one time, when I pulled into the fast lane to pass a line of cars. Well, wouldn't you know, as I'm almost up to pass the first vehicle, an Esso truck, he cuts me off and starts passing as well, missing me by inches. I was not impressed. So, we pass the cars, and get back into the middle lane. A little further up the road, we meet slow traffic again, and again I pull into the fast lane. And AGAIN the truck tries to cut me off as I'm going by. Except this time, I step on the gas and lean on the horn, and he quickly gets back into his lane. I go by, and he immediately pulls out behind me and starts swearing a blue streak and giving me the finger. So I give him a little wave and speed up. A little further up the road, the guy is behind me again, still pissed off beyond belief. He finally manages to get in the lane beside me and pulls the old "I'll match your speed so you can't pass" trick. Of course, he forgot about one thing...he was in a COMPANY TRUCK with the PHONE NUMBER ON THE SIDE!!! So I pulled out my cellphone, making sure that the guy could see it, and dialled the number on the side of the truck. The guy sped away as I had a good laugh.
