Man, it is pouring in LA. This could be a sloppy one. I smell upset.

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 13

I'm guessing that you probably can, unless Syracuse makes a huge jump by beating Virginia in the Big Atlantic championship. One thing I've learned -- beating someone ranked above you doesn't mean a damn thing. Plus, neither of us are actually there yet.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see USC vs. Cal II in that case. Auburn, OU and Texas would all not get into a BCS bowl, as Cal and Utah would grab the at-large spots. As an aside, that could very well create the shittiest bunch of BCS games ever assembled.

Do we even have a mascot? I mean we have the two horses but those aren't like some dude in a big suit....that's my biggest complaint about the school. No guy in a cool suit. What would a sooner mascot be anyways? Jim Ross? Well a Sooner is someone that jumped the gun during the land rush and set up early. They were criminals. Yes it's nice to have your state defined by criminals. Like Australia but less cool. I have no clue what a Sooner mascot would be though. Some crazy old prospector with a pick axe and rifle?

    Bush is coming over.

I'm wondering how badly traffic will be blocked in downtown Ottawa, and whether or not I can pick my wife up from work Tuesday and/or Wednesday. That's about the extent of my interest.

Bored, you could just call the La Tech/Rice game a no-contest. I really wouldn't mind.

Now the fun question: Does Colorado have a shot in this game?

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 13

They announced it at the start of the week. Rice wanted their game to have a big-time feel for their fans and seniors, so they moved it to Monday night at Reliant Stadium. GO OWLS!!!

No, of course not. What would be the point of the system if winning your conference didn't guarantee you a spot? Why wouldn't they just take the top 6 teams regardless of conference affiliation? Whoever wins the Big East is worthy, because they won the conference.

30-10 SU over BC right now. Amazing how bad the most successful senior class ever at BC is playing when it matters most.

Assuming Mississippi can hang on, I'm down to needing Rice to beat La Tech to advance to the title game...

    Which Match was better, IYO

No, it was in between the Chi-Town Rumble and WrestleWar matches. April 2, 1989 (same day as WrestleMania V).

If Pitt loses to South Florida, they don't deserve to go to a BCS bowl. SU at least won when it had to. Of course, if SU could've beaten fucking TEMPLE two weeks ago, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

There've been enough lower-tier top-25 teams losing (Bowling Green, Texas A&M) that Pitt should sneak into the top 25, giving them the BCS bid. Man, though...everyone thought Syracuse was going to have trouble winning a game, let alone qualifying for a bowl game. Paul Pasqualoni may have saved his job yet again.

BWAHAHAHAHA. And a field goal makes it 24-3 Orange. And BC just got picked off...Syracuse looking like they're going to run away and hide in the first half. Hello, Pitt, welcome to the BCS.

Give me a break. Arizona is not Oklahoma, Arizona is Arizona. They're perennially bad. Bear Bryant himself could rise from the grave and not be able to coach this team to a bowl bid. Bob Stoops is able to be "Bob Stoops" because he coaches at Oklahoma. If he coached at Arizona, you've never heard of him either. To say that his brother is no "Bob Stoops" even though he coaches at an inferior (and bad) program is fucking ignorant.

I might have picked up the Andre one if it wasn't Alfred Hayes doing the hosting. I can't stands that guy.

WWE News and Notes from 11/29 Observer

WhoawhoawhoawhoaWHOA... How the hell are they supposed to build to HHH vs. Orton at WrestleMania if HHH is off filming a movie? At least Hogan always knew to wait until after Mania to film a movie.

    Greatest Canadian?

Um, i hate to point this out, but Bell wasn't Canadian, he was Scottish. He was born literally 500 yards along the road from where i live. He moved to Ontario for a short while, but spent just as much time in Boston, all while being Scottish. I don't judge the candidates' merits, I only report the facts. Sir John A. was Scottish as well, as far as that goes.

The Ivy League, for whatever reason, doesn't participate in the I-AA playoffs. Harvard would be in this year otherwise, as they went 10-0 (they're the only undefeated team in I-AA). The BCS only goes down to 25. The rules about BCS rankings are laid out in the Big East tiebreaking procedure: I think this is all moot anyway, because Pitt should crack the top 25 after beating WV, which means they would likely be ranked by the BCS.

This Week in College Football 11/23 - 11/27

Just one problem with that -- both teams are unranked. Syracuse beat Pitt in the regular season, so they would get the bid. What about Harvard? Didn't they go undefeated?
