Wow, I don't think I've ever sucked this bad in this contest.
-
Not-so-fun fact: In the last two weeks, all five of my losses on differing games have been by three points or less.

It's not like he has much of a choice. He's not going to pull someone off their campaign to come to Ottawa to be sworn in as Ag minister and briefed on a portfolio they'll only hold for a couple of weeks.

Almost definitely. I see them winning that division by at least 3 games. Three? I think Chicago might have something to say about that. The fact is, it's hard to win two straight on the road to open the season. The fact that they could have easily been 2-0 as much as they are 1-1 in reality, says the Bears aren't the crappy team you seem to think. I don't think they're crappy, I just don't think they have enough to seriously challenge in the division this year, especially if Hester misses any significant time. I see them going 9-7. That's not bad.

Just warming up for the real thing, I'm sure.

I also read somewhere that Shanahan has brought back a big section of his playbook that he hadn't used since John Elway retired. They've been incredibly fun to watch so far. I wasn't expecting big things this season, because I wasn't sold on the defence, but if they keep putting up points like this, they could certainly contend in a wide-open AFC.

I'm finding Gananoque to normally have the cheapest gas in the region.

Slanted much? Here's the ESPN story: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3595012

That's what we have. Works really well. Or, it did, anyway.

He has a 3.92 ERA. You're going to let one bad outing keep him off the playoff roster? Talk about a kneejerk reaction. By that logic, the Rays should keep Kazmir off their roster for shitting the bed the other night. Especially since Wake's previous start was an eight-inning shutout against Toronto.

Ditto, and I thought with the 3rd priority he was as good as mine. Major bummer. Oh well, I suppose winning the championship will be some consolation I was just lucky that Popick had first priority and probably wasn't going to be scouring the waiver wire after the season was over, since he's not coming back next year. I saved my priority all year for Price as well.

Let the record show that I fully expected to get trounced here. I'm not certain I would've voted for my own team.

Flair with a low blow on UT... Heenan: "Did you see that? He tried to lift the Undertaker!" Monsoon: "He did NOT!"

I don't consider a lot at The Worldwide Leader to be must-read, but Rob Neyer's blog certainly is. A shame that it's stuck on Insider. Joe Posnanski's blog is free, though, and it's fantastic. It's a cliche to say it, but he probably has forgotten more about sports than most people know.

He played last week too. That he gets a start after that game shows how desperate the Chiefs are for a QB.
-
Come on, it's Hulk Hogan. He WAS wrestling in most people's minds for the longest time. The guy was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, for chrissakes.
-
I've always liked to think that they kayfabe cut Heenan's mic after the "DAMMIT!" so we couldn't hear the more choice swear words.

Yeah, but it's not really an important race when both teams have essentially locked up playoff spots. Considering if Boston beats Tampa tonight, Boston would move into first as well, and Tampa has a four game series with Minnesota coming up. That could make it a race in the wildcard between Minnesota and Tampa. It's hardly "essentially locked up". The only team that essentially locked up a spot is the team that DID lock it up, that being Anaheim. Tampa is eight games up on the Twins with 13 to play (11 for Minnesota). The best Minnesota can do is be 3 back with 6 to play. It would be the biggest collapse in the history of modern sport if the Rays were to miss the playoffs at this point. Literally.

Yeah, that puzzles me in retrospect. I would have thought Savage would have played a bigger part in the match after his part with Jake, especially since he was eventually given the title shot against Flair. He was pretty much just there to give them the appearance of more star power at the end. I can't think of any other Rumble where I had less of an idea who would win going down toward the finish. When Warlord came in at #30, there were still five or six guys who could have believably won the thing (Hogan, Sid, Savage, Piper, Flair, maybe even Slaughter as a former champ).

A list of popular shows/movies that I have never seen
CanadianChris replied to a topic in Television & Film
E.T. I still get grief from people who find out I've never seen it. -
1. Over -- and that's just for the Giants. 2. That was my big question as well. If Mario Williams has a big day, the Texans will win. The Titans' O-line is going to have to come up big. 3. Nope, not this time. Especially not in Foxboro. 4. New Orleans, maybe. Denver, probably not. 5. Yes. Tarvaris Jackson is not ready to be an NFL staring quarterback. He may never be ready. Until he's replaced, the Vikings have no shot at being an upper-tier team.
