Jordan strikes out. Microcosm of the Rangers' season right there. Jump out to an early lead, go down late, make things interesting in the end, but ultimately come up short.
-
Anaheim has come back to take a 4-3 lead in the 8th. Texas needs to answer, or their season is just about over.
-
Probably, yes. Which proves once again that the writers are tools that can't see anything unless it's right in front of their faces. Never happened...but there's a first time for everything. This isn't like the MVP race...the award is supposed to go to the best pitcher in the league. No subjective definitions of the word "valuable" here. Just the best. That's Johnson, without a doubt. Johnson's superior to Clemens in every way that matters, except for the one he can't control.
-
That would require him pitching a shutout every single time out. Even then, he'd get a number of no-decisions. In Johnson's 14 losses, the D-Backs have scored more than two runs only twice. Johnson has 24 quality starts out of 33 total (an impressive number -- Clemens, his main competition, has 23 in 32 starts), and 13 of them came in losses or no-decisions (the D-Backs went on to lose all of those NDs, too). You can't blame the guy because he pitches on the worst offensive team in the majors. EDIT: As an aside, based on their league ranking in these categories, which of these pitchers should win the Cy Young? A B ERA 3 5 K 1 5 K/BB 2 14 K/9 2 7 QS 1 3 WHIP 1 3 Opp BA 1 5 Opp OPS 1 3 (QS = quality start)

Nope. Tiebreaker got you.
-
Hey, a half-point game actually went my way this week (DEN/SD).
-
I'll be shocked as well, but if Johnson had pitched for anyone but Arizona, he'd have 21 or 22 wins easily. He's the runaway leader in lowest run support. Maybe the writers will actually (*gasp!*) do some research. Then again, these are the same people who gave Rafael Palmeiro a Gold Glove at a position he played fewer than 20 times.
-
How do you figure that? They lost in NoCal last year.
-
Woohoo...top 5 here we come...
-
Yeah, it happened in my matchup too, but only because I don't think Denver should be favoured by a touchdown over SD.
-
Reading the box score for the SF/Houston game last night...this line is ridiculous: AB R H BI BB SO Bonds LF 1 0 1 1 4 0 3B - Bonds (2) IBB - Bonds 4 Reading the game account, this was the fourth time this season Bonds has been intentionally walked 4 times, once again tying his own major league record. PITCH TO HIM, DAMMIT.

Best WrestleMania WWF Title Match?
CanadianChris replied to The Mandarin's topic in General Wrestling
I went with Savage/Hogan. I enjoyed it more than the Flair match, for some reason (maybe because I liked Savage as a heel better). -
Colin proposed to Christie on The Early Show this morning, and she accepted. Awww...psychos in love.
-
Mordal & Vos vs. Heffron & Bodden would rule. Mordal won't be in the roast. Tess and Geoff Brown are the other roasters from Season 1 (no contest!!).
-
This was the first time in the history of reality TV that my favourite actually won.
-
How is this possible? I presume you've seen the other 2 (since you didn't mention them here), so how did you miss arguably the best one? I've just never had the occasion to watch it. I mean, I know the story, I've just never seen the movie. I probably will when the DVDs come out.

Is Dat Vietnamese? I can never remember. John - 8.5/10. Dat - 4/10. I think he's run through his entire act; he can get eliminated now. Jay - 6/10. Didn't click. Ralphie - 0/10. Racist, and unfunny to boot. I mean, Jail-Americans? The brown guy who mows my lawn? Get of my TV, ass.
-
Kathleen: 8/10 Dave: 8.5/10, although my wife insists there's nothing funny about a rape joke. Normally I'd agree, but that partcular one made me laugh.
-
CARROT TOP?? Actually, Season 2 should get both those guys. It might make it a fair fight...they'd lower the funny on that team enough that Season 1 might be able to compete.
-
Finale is tonight... Who wins? And who gets Philiminated in the first hour?
-
The US team isn't decided until after the PGA Championship in the year of the competition...or, about the same time the European team is finalized.
-
YES!!! I'm a bit surprised...I figured The Apprentice had this one sewn up. Plus, it wasn't the best season ever for TAR. But still, fantastic.
