Europe wins 3 out of 4 in the afternoon. It's unbelievable how bad the Americans are and continue to be in the foursomes.

Yesterday, I won a $7+$1 sub-qualifier, and then won the subsequent $64+$6 main qualifier, to get into the PartyPoker $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament tomorrow...and now I find out I can't use the seat. I'm a little pissed.

The NHLPA's contention (in bold) is preposterous. That would mean that total salaries are somewhere in the $3 billion range, if a 5% cut would save $150 million. Plus, the PA undoubtedly wanted a four or five year deal (understandable, since the status quo overwhelmingly benefits them), which would've meant that the NHL, if they accepted, was committed to another four or five years of red ink across the board. I haven't seen anything from the players that indicates they would be willing to even come close to what the owners are hoping for. Hence, the impasse.

Yes, and that fraction is somewhere between "five-eighths" and "two-thirds." Let's not pretend that the players are being taken advantage of here.

I was pissed that they didn't get eliminated. They're going to be tough to deal with next week. So, is next week one huge-ass leg with no eliminations? At least next week, the race finally comes to CANADA~! W00T~!

Second half: Dat Phan: 7/10. I actually liked it, especially the bit about disciplining his gf's kid. ANT: 2/10. Horrible. My prediction comes true -- he's gone next week. Mordal: 8.5/10. Too bad he ran out of time...seems like the last joke had more to it. Madigan: 8/10. Good, solid set. Either Kent or Geoff Brown will join ANT on the street next week.

I'm assuming the Rangers thought the A's fans made it unsafe to out onto the field. I've seen umpires threaten forfeits where fans are throwing stuff onto the field and endangering the players. But you're right, this is just silly.

Simple question: Would people be so willing to forfeit certain types of, say, speech? Given the restrictions on what can be broadcast over the airwaves, obscenity legislation, certain hate crime legislation and the like, I would say that people are generally OK with excluding certain types of speech from the First Amendment. The Second Amendment is worded differently. Observe: You can restrict what arms a person may own without infringing on their right, in general, to bear arms if they so choose. Abridging someone's right to free speech is a lot more cut and dried...ANY restriction is seen as an abridgement of that right.

Yes, they did. People who use the Second Amendment argument seem to do so only because there are no other rational arguments to refute a ban on assault weapons. And even that's not a good argument. Nowhere is there a provision in the Constitution that certain types of guns can't be outlawed. An argument that "you can own a gun, just not THIS gun" is perfectly in keeping with the Constitution.
