Forsberg scores first...1-0 Avalanche.

You're shitting me...you don't get to see Colorado/Dallas??

Kris Draper's tied the game in Detroit. EDIT: And now Holmstrom has given the Red Wings a 2-1 lead.

Five points in my pool already. No one else even has one.

Foster appeared in only one game last season. Grade: Inc Lelie has shown flashes of brilliance, but has been inconsistent. With Ed McCaffrey retiring, the Broncos should find out exactly what they have this season. Grade: B Middlebrooks has been an unspectacular nickel back who's never started a game in his career. Broncos look ready to give up on him. Grade: D- O'Neal appeared to be a good pick, but has proven susceptible to opponents busting big plays against him. In Mike Shanahan's doghouse. Grade: C- Wilson has been a solid linebacker for the Broncos, recording 100 tackles and 5 sacks 2 seasons ago. Grade: B+

Bah. Everyone knows you're supposed to chant "Beat L.A." at the Lakers.
-
Yeah, that run to Game 7 of the conference finals last year sure proved that.

Your taxpayer dollars at work.

Ergo...SENS IN FOUR!!!!!

My head is spinning over all the possible playoff permutations in the East. About the only thing I know for sure at this point is that Tampa bay is going to beat the Islanders. Fortunately, my hockey pool draft isn't until tomorrow, so I have an entire day still to agonize...

So ends one of the least memorable tournaments in recent memory.
-
Oh, of course. UConn would never be considered for a BCS bid, because they have no conference affiliation and they can't schedule strong enough games to get consideration for an at-large, even if they went 12-0. Reason #294 why the BCS sucks my sweaty left nut.

It must. There has to be a record of voter turnout in primaries somewhere. I'm just too tired and/or lazy to really look for it.
-
Yeah but they don't have a good football team and that's the only college sport I really care about. Basketball is just a distraction till football season. At least that's the mentality at OU. Wanna bet? UConn went 9-3 in football this season, beating (albeit low-ranked) teams in the Big 10, Big East and ACC.

Glad to see they're finally putting the losing streak gimmick to good use. -

And, from Compton, California...LANCE STORM! From Easter Island.... EDGE!! Get with it. Everyone knows Edge is from Barking, England. -
Eh, Dave Hodge is getting senile anyway. I have Detroit (over Dallas) and Ottawa (over Tampa Bay) reaching the finals.

Aside from Sakic and Forsberg, who are you referring to?

And ESPN's even more thrilled because once again they can pretend the Senators don't exist. I wonder if they'd even make the first half-hour of SportsCenter if they won the Cup.
