    Gee, ya think?

    2008 Summer Olympics

What's even crazier is that the 200 is his best event and he just started running the 100 recently. If he ever learns how to get out of the blocks well, he'd run in the 9.4 range. I can't wait to see him run the 200. If anyone could touch Michael Johnson's record, he's the guy.

    2008 Summer Olympics

My God, Usain Bolt broke the 100m world record after SLOWING UP AT THE FINISH. I've never seen anything like that. He probably could have gone under 9.5 if he wanted to.

    2008 Summer Olympics

The underwater cam caught it clearly, Phelps touched an instant before Cavic.

    2008 Summer Olympics

I thought he was toast at the far wall. There's no way he should have caught Cavic with the lead he had. Then again, there's no way Lezac should have caught Bernard in the relay, so there you go.

    2008 Summer Olympics

Well, we just witnessed history. Phelps gets his seventh gold, by 1/100 of a second.

2008 Bored's College Football Pick 'Em Sign Up Thread

Potentially tough first week with 909, but after that the schedule looks pretty favourable.

    The SummerSlam Thread

1.) Favorite SummerSlam show overall? 1992 2.) Favorite world title match? Randy Savage/Ultimate Warrior (1992) 3.) Favorite mid card title match? Bret Hart/British Bulldog (1992) 4.) Favorite tag title match? Demolition/Hart Foundation (1990) 5.) Favorite non-title match? Megapowers/Megabucks (1988) 6.) Favorite segment? I don't remember segments, so I'll go with "Fuck it!" as well. 7.) Things you hated besides Goldberg screwed out of winning the Elimination Chamber? Legion of Doom coming out with Rocco in 1992.

    Explosion at Toronto propane factory

Incredibly, there was only one dead (and apparently of natural causes) and one missing. A picture of the aftermath: And a video of the explosion...honestly, I looked at this and thought it was in Afghanistan or Georgia or some such place:

    The Old School questions thread

That was a great show. Rock cut a fantastic heel promo against Toronto, then put over Booker big in the battle royale.

    All Time NBA Draft PLAYOFFS

I knew the rebounding edge would be there, but wow, can my guys ever shoot.

    2008 Summer Olympics

Not really, because younger is better in female gymnastics. I'm sure there are a bunch of girls who would've made the US team over some of the current members if not for the age limit.
  13. Owen Hart in 1994 because he was tired of being in Bret's shadow. Ric Flair and the Horsemen in 1990 because Sting wanted a title shot against Flair (well, and because he's Ric Flair). The Radicalz in 2000 because they wanted to get jobs in the WWF.

The Magic Is In The Hole!

I went to a DD on my last trip to the States last month, and it was all kinds of bad. I can't figure out how Tim's hasn't completely taken over around the border yet.

    This Week in Baseball 8/11 - 8/17

Sheffield would absolutely kill that clubhouse. Word around the trade deadline was that the Rays had something like 12 guys listed as untouchable which is why they ended up not making a deal. Unfortunately none of those 12 guys are a bat they can use right now. Unfortunately in these situations it's impossible to say whether they actually did the right thing for a few years, but if they struggle the next two weeks their management is going to take a beating in the media the rest of the year. That's incredibly short-sighted, given that this is the best team the franchise has ever fielded, and they're only going to get better. How could anyone bitch about the best season in franchise history?

    TSM Death Pool - 2008

He'd better not. I've got tickets to see him in November.

All-Time NBA Draft (THE RESULTS ARE IN THE FIRST POST)

I didn't save my ballot, but I'm pretty certain I mirrored the overall vote and ranked 909 first and VX second.

    The Golf Thread

I don't. Tiger clinched the players' PoY at the US Open. It's not like the players hate Tiger or anything.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

I had the same idea...I'm going with possibly the best punter not named Ray Guy: Sean Landeta, P Punts 1,401 Punting Yards 60,707 Punting Avg 43.3 2x Pro Bowl selection (1986, 1990) 5x All-Pro selection (1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1994) 2x Super Bowl champion (XXI, XXV) NFL 1980s All-Decade Team NFL 1990s All-Decade Team

    Video Game Desert Island draft

Trog (NES) Graphics on this were just outstanding for the time. And there's something really therapeutic about grabbing the magic pineapple and just going on a caveman-eating rampage.

If I had a choice between saving a PETA member and saving a dog, I'd save the PETA member just to piss them off.
