Actually, USC did win their conference championship. They just don't have a conference championship game. And, once again, I can't blame fans for getting pissed when their team, ranked #1 and having suffered one loss, on the road, in triple overtime, got passed by a team that got blown out by 28 in their last game, and by a team that lost by 12 at home in their only loss.

Have any of you seen the anti-PETA ads yet?

...come on, let's see someone show PETA some love. Whoever came up with that billboard should be forced to live on it. -
Thank God for that. My mom reads those books by the hundreds.

Those people will lose their shirts. I can see the spread going down to about 3 or 4 by gametime, which is why I'm waiting to get money down on this game. Oklahoma should win by at least 10. So you don't think the K-State performance is a factor? Nope. Someone got it into their heads that they could take the night off. Properly motivated, they should crush LSU. HUGE emphasis on "properly motivated." If they start listening to everyone who is saying that game is an indication of what kind of team they are, they're in big trouble. I like what everyone is saying...."OU is PISSED and are coming to claim what is rightfully there." Be it true or not but they're building OU up as someone that has something to prove and wants to win badly. That makes them so much more dangerous because I'm sure it's the sentiment the team has. And I don't think they are going to take this game lightly at all. As a matter of fact they'll take it more serious than any game this season...even more serious than against Texas. Get ready....it's going to be a barnburner so to speak. Oh and I've also heard that if OU blows LSU out and USC plays a crappy game and barely wins...then OU could just jump to #1 on the AP. I wouldn't bank on it. No AP #1 has ever dropped in the poll after winning its bowl game. They've said that many times in the past, and it's never happened.

Why would they call McGrady overrated compared to Carter? I don't recall McGrady not having the heart to play for a couple of years. Hmm.. Yeah, he just wants to retire because he can't figure out how to break a zone defense. *X's CC off his X-Mas list*

Yeah, we saw him already. This thread cries out for ABOBO.

All other potential gimmick posters may as well just give up. ABOBO is the standard by which ye shalt be judged, and ye shalt be found wanting.

And, once again, a once-decent thread descends into petty bickering. In anger.

And it's been nothing but downhill since then. *sigh*

Since 1997, the SB has alternated between good and shit every year. This year should be a good one Well, except for that 2000 snoozefest with St. Louis winning. I don't care what people say about the first three quarters, but that last quarter with the Tennessee comeback and the Longest Yard play elevated that game to a good game, IMO That WAS a good quarter. But I can't call any game that I turned off midway through a good game.

Week 14 results for braves/kkk contests
CanadianChris replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Sports
From the Week 5 Prediction Thread regarding this subject: 1) Head-to-head matchups 2) Lowest TB score 3) Highest PF score 4) Divisional record 5) Conference record 6) I give up and create another playoff slot. SWEET!!!!! -
Probably because every other team is involved in the Tag Team Turmoil match on the PPV, and they wanted to get the Dudleys on the show somehow without facing one of those teams. You shocked the hell out of me here, Dames. The combination of JR's orgasmic announcing and Henry's 70s offense (and a reverse chinlock that seemed to go on for five freaking minutes) turned me right off this match.

What ARE the regular-season tiebreakers? Is it based on divisional and conference record, like the real NFL tiebreakers, or on total score, or what? -
As opposed to the Pulitzer Prize-winning stuff they're churning out now? As long as he doesn't start talking about his "hardness" and her "womanhood" in the next entry, it's all good.

Yes, but without the merger I could guarantee that they would win the next ten elections. This, if done right, prevents such a monopoly. The basis of our government is that the ruling party has to be held accountable to someone (ie. the people). This was never going to happen with a split right, and our government was essentially a dictatorship as a result. Just like the WWF was at its best when WCW was challenging it, democracy works best when there is an alternative. Wrestling analogies, gotta love it. By the way, why did the apparent stranglehold that Mulroney's Tories have in the early nineties all of a sudden give way to the current Liberal domination we got going on now? Also, I don't think it's such a bad thing if the Liberals get voted in for the next ten years....as long as they don't do a shitty job with it. Three factors emerged: 1) The public's total disgust with the perceived sleaziness of the Mulroney government; 2) The emergence of the Reform party as a viable right-wing alternative in the west; 3) Lucien Bouchard electrifying the Quebec electorate and getting them to vote for the Bloc Quebecois over the PCs in droves. All those combined to kick the Tories almost completely out of the House of Commons in 1993. They never recovered, and as there was no viable national alternative to the Liberals, they have enjoyed power ever since.
