What is the funniest TV show ever?
CanadianChris replied to spiny norman's topic in Television & Film
I almost cried when Sports Night went off the air. You too? The one-two punch of Sports Night and The Job getting cancelled is the reason I don't watch ABC. -
The Bud Lught Institute ads for fake greeting cards for guys are great. Really, what guy wouldn't need cards for things like, "I'm Sorry I Missed Your Best Friends Wedding," "I'm Sorry For That Thing That Made You Mad," and "Let's Make February 15th OUR Valentine's Day?" The Bud ad with the football-playing horses is also a classic.

I'm just happy Matsui didn't win.

- Ric Flair vs. Sting on WCW Saturday Night in 1993 (the usual, but it was FREE~!) - Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund (1994, the Backlund heel turn match) - Great Sasuke vs. TAKA Michinoku (1997, the night after Canadian Stampede) - Bret Hart, Owen Hart and British Bulldog vs. Steve Austin, Dude Love and Undertaker (flag match from Halifax RAW in 1997)

Bengals reciever guarantees win over the Chiefs
CanadianChris replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Sports
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. All that good karma the Bengals have built up over the course of the season just got pissed away with one quote. Well done, Chad. -
Greatest wrestling quotes ever?

"And look at this guy. He's an idiot. He's seven feet, pure idiot. You put his brain in a parakeet...ZING! Fly backwards." -- Rock, on Big Show, 1999 -
Oh, ok. I was wondering what the hell a thead on the American Film Institute was doing in the Music folder.

Police Squad! owns everything. -
Happy birthday! Go have some fun and celebrate the fact that you're not 29.
-
It's Sportsman of the Year, not athlete of the year. Subtle but important difference.
-
It wasn't Tito Santana, it was Baron von Raschke. As to the actual questions, I don't remember.

The One and Only A Minute with Stan Hooper thread
CanadianChris replied to bob_barron's topic in Television & Film
You KNOW you're reaching for excuses when you blame bad ratings on the Country Music Awards. -
Well, because he keeps trying to kill himself, but always falls short. You can only put up with that kind of ineptitude for so long before you get pissed at the guy.

109 last night, even having Nash, who was injured too late for me to change him. Dammit. My 11/8 lineup: PG - Baron Davis SG - Gilbert Arenas SF - Kevin Garnett PF - Rasheed Wallace C - Yao Ming Coach - Tim Floyd

Wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I've seen much worse.

Two main events? What was the other one? Are you talking about the Diesel-Michaels match, where Sid was Michaels' bodyguard. That match wasn't the main event, but it should've been. Not that LT crap. Sid/Hogan at VIII, and Sid/UT for the belt at XIII. And they BOTH sucked.
-
Shit. I so don't want to see this movie now...I'll have to, just because I have a sliver of hope that it's not as bad as it looks, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
-
How Sid ever got TWO main events at WM, I'll never know. He wins.

What was your favorite blow-off match to a feud?
CanadianChris replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
Tully/Magnum I Quit. -
Well, it's official...the Yankees will not win another WS so long as he's coach. Which, if they don't win any soon, will only be a year or two, max.

Neither are bowling, 9-ball, or spelling bee. I'd kick any of those off the schedule before poker. From what I've seen and read, I think it's a bit overrated, myself. I can think of a dozen books I'd get before that one. I may pick it up sometime just to be a completist, but I'm not going to be falling all over myself for it. I just picked up Positively Fifth Street last week in Vegas...the poker sections in that are excellent. Well worth picking up.

Partypoker.com is even better. More tables, and MANY more fish. I play $3/$6 Omaha Hi/Lo 8 there, and it's like a license to print money.
