Yes, there is. Go in the WWE forum, where Michaels is rated higher than Guerrero for his work over the past year, even though Shawn has had only ONE great match, and Guerrero having MANY. That's just one example.... Yes, the WWE forum being the bastion of thoughtful discussion and well-reasoned arguments that it is. No one with two brain cells to rub together would even think that, let alone say it.

Short lived TV shows no one seems to remember
CanadianChris replied to King Kamala's topic in Television & Film
The Marshall Chronicles. VERY short-lived series on ABC about a high school kid who has a crush on this girl, but she's dating some jock. -
Well, no. But the current writers have the attention spans of a seven-year-old on Hallowe'en and the intelligence of cabbage. I shudder to think of them trying to write any coherent storyline going longer than 3 months.

Someone needs to give Evad a vote. That was pretty horrible.
-
How long have you been watching? I can think of a half-dozen off the top of my head...Savage-Hogan, Hogan-Andre, Savage-Flair, Austin-McMahon, Rock-HHH, and Hogan-Piper. Point is, the heel turn was a failure at least until Invasion. Thinking about what happened during the Invasion is unfair, considering what a monumental failure the Invasion itself was. And the night after SS was the wrestling equivalent of Bobby stepping out of the shower on Dallas -- it invalidated just about everything that happened since X-7.
-
They completely dropped it the night after Survivor Series. Austin came out to a huge ovation after wrestling as a heel for nearly eight months, with no turn whatsoever. The crowd never accepted it due to the complete lack of buildup beforehand and explanation afterward. The only thing that came out of it was that damn "What?" That's the very definition of going nowhere.
-
How could you forget Canada's Greatest Athlete, Iron Mike Sharpe? And Gail Kim has shown she's not the pride of anywhere.
-
What the hell are you smoking? What was the historical importance of X-7? The Austin heel turn that went nowhere? Yet another TLC match? McMahons wrestling in the top card? The Gimmick Battle Royal? That argument holds no water whatsoever.

Summerslam Update: One less match on the card
CanadianChris replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
VIAM -
THE pick? Barron has spoken. I would still go with Bash 89 by a narrow margin over WM X-7, then Canadian Stampede (still my favourite PPV) and WM3.
-
I disagree with the EuroContinental title match. I thought it was very good. I would add Ric Flair vs. Bret Hart at Souled Out 98. Not at all what I hoped these two could do.

This is a Darwin Award looking for a place to happen.

Will the 03 Tigers break the 62 Met's loss record?
CanadianChris replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Sports
I don't care. I just want Moroth and/or Bonderman to lose 20. -
Nah...they'll probably go 40 minutes, and shorten the US title match from 20 minutes to 5.
-
Oh, that's right...RVD tried to do the Five-Star off the top of one of the individual cages, not off the top rope. No danger of that from anyone in this match...
-
Bite your tongue...the most brutal match in WWE history is surely the Blindfold match.
-
I'm somewhat less lazy, so here it is... - The cage is a round, solid steel structure with a roof, that fits around the ring. The roof is somewhat low, so off-the-top-rope moves are harder to perform (as RVD and HHH found out last year when RVD crushed HHH's throat trying to do a Five-Star). - Two men start in the ring, the other four are locked in small cages in each corner. - Every two minutes (or whatever time interval they use), one of the cages is unlocked, and that man joins the match. This continues until all 6 men have entered the match. - Eliminations are caused by pinfall or submission only. - The last man left in the match wins the World Cliqueweight Championship.

Your First Live Event
CanadianChris replied to A Guy Who Injects Heroin Into Kids' Eyes's topic in The WWE Folder
A live RAW in October 2001, during the InVasion. We got a good WCW title match between Rock and RVD, and a wild tag match that spilled out into the arena. -
Given recent events with Stephanie, I fully expect Linda vs. Kane to be booked for Unforgiven.
-
They'll probably follow up next week. You can never have too much implied sexual assault of older women.

From what I've seen and heard, the scores are very important to mid-range schools, at little less so (but still important) to the big schools. I studied just using some of the guides you can buy in stores (GRE for Dummies, and the Princeton Review book), and I took the test when I was most comfortable taking it (early December). I scored 2250. I found practice tests to be invaluable. But, to each his own.

I have a feeling we'll be saying "they could've done SO much more with this" when it's released. However, for now, GREAT news. They should do like Shawn Michaels and release a DVD with just matches and promos.

Cornette Rules it once again
CanadianChris replied to Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye's topic in The WWE Folder
I have the second one at work...I should get it in my KaZaa shared folder one of these days. -
That clock ticking away scares me. I discovered that being an optimist adds about 25 years to your life. But is it really worth being a fucking optimist?

Nintendo stops GameCube production...
CanadianChris replied to rising up out of the back seat-nuh's topic in Video Games
Wow...who would've thought ten years ago (heck, even five years ago) that we'd see "Nintendo" and "struggling games maker" in the same sentence? How the mighty have fallen...
