Apparently, I should've gone with my gut instincts and taken Kharlamov last round.
-
That was taken several rounds ago.
-
Damn, I was totally going to pick Metroid last round and forgot about it.
-
I'm looking at potential matches for my last five picks, and I just remembered several more that weren't on my original list. I'm now wishing I could have a do-over on my last pick. I could probably go five more rounds on top of this.

This is getting way too much play everywhere. I hope Kobe doesn't say a word about it and it just dies quietly. Fixed. That's pretty much all I heard listening to FSR last night, as well.

gWIL is up next. C Dubya can pick any time.

They're going to have to give a pass to almost every pitcher who comes up for election nowadays, because hardly anyone is going to have 300 wins going forward. It 's incredibly hard to do in the current pitching climate. Hell, Pedro's still 7 wins behind Schilling, and he's first-ballot. I'm interested to see who you think the writers won't vote for because they don't have 300 wins. I'll give you Blyleven. After seeing this quote, I wish there could be more Jayson Starks with HoF ballots:

Openly flaunted his support for George W. Bush in 2004. Yeah, because Lord knows we don't want anyone famous taking a position on anything.

I thought a few people had him last year, but only Zack Malibu did.

Has anyone else tried to do a system update and not been able to connect to the server? I'm finally getting around to hooking my Wii up to the internet, but I can't download the update needed to access the Wii Shop channel.

Come on, are you serious? Someone picking a dead guy that anyone besides Marvin has ever heard of? Puhleeze.
-
I went to see him in Vegas six years ago, and I was dying of laughter by the end. I doubt we'll ever see another one like him.

Fine by me. My next pick: Whose Line Is It Anyway? (UK) The original, and still the best.
-
Come visit my island and destroy whole cities: Rampage I could play this for hours on end. It's a great stress reliever.

The sequels were probably better, but I was always partial to the original: Mortal Kombat
-
This was my 90210 growing up: Beverly Hills, 90210

I was planning to go defence this round, but instead I'm going to probably piss some people off and take the guy I almost took yesterday morning: Art Monk, WR Hall of Fame Class of 2008 Seasons among the league's top 10 Receptions: 1984 - 1st, 1985 - 2nd, 1988 - 9th(tied), 1989 - 3rd(tied) Receiving yards: 1984 - 4th, 1985 - 3rd, 1989 - 10th Receiving TDs: 1991 - 9th(tied) Among the league's all-time top 50 Receptions: 7th (940) Receiving yards: 12th (12,721) Receiving TDs: 31st(tied) (68) Consecutive games with at least one reception: 3rd (183) All-Rookie: 1980 3-time Pro Bowler: 1984, 1985, 1986 3-time All-Pro: 1984, 1985, 1986 NFL 1980s All-Decade Team 70 Greatest Redskins Redskins' Ring of Fame One of the all-time great possession receivers. A perfect complement to Lofton on the other side.

This has been a really, really bad couple of rounds for me

I'm inclined to agree with this. His peripherals are pretty mediocre -- 1.42 WHIP, 5.68 K/9, 1.37 K/BB, .265 BABIP. His saving grace this year has been that he's giving up far fewer home runs.

I have to have at least one match with two guys trying to kill each other (well, one guy almost legit killing the other): Street Fight: Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon, King of the Ring, June 24, 2001
-
Sorry, but it shows up on my screen, so I had no idea. That's probably the problem. I'll pick another one.
-
Finally. That was on my initial list, but I always seemed to find another one I wanted more. I knew someone would remember it eventually. Anyway, it's been four rounds since my last Randy Savage match, so I'd better pick another one: WWF Championship match: Randy Savage [c] vs. Ultimate Warrior, Summerslam, August 29, 1992 Not as good as the classic they had at WrestleMania VII, and somewhat marred by the (rumoured) non-turn of the Warrior, but still the usual excellent match between these two, and well worth checking out. Warrior had better chemistry with Savage than with anyone else by far.

That is one of the worst things I've ever seen. If Nick is only getting eight months, at least throw him in general for the rest of it.
