Top 50 Stars of the Last 50 Years
CanadianChris replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in General Wrestling
That's funny, because I was thinking if you were going to put Demolition in there, you might as well put the Outlaws on there, too. Both teams were over as fuck for a time, but neither team had an exceptionally long shelf life. I just don't see how you can have the RnRs on there without the Midnights. I hardly ever think of one without thinking of the other. -
I can't help but think that the Joba-to-the-rotation talk is going to pick up really soon.
-
Pat Quinn speculation is rampant around here. This displeases me greatly.
-
Count me in.
-
And the pitching news just keeps getting worse in the Bronx: Phil Hughes is out until at least July with a broken rib.

Yeah, either hockey is saved in Quebec City because they win the Cup instead of Montreal, or Gretzky gets his Cup in LA, given how everything else played out.

I think Demolition is clearly second-tier. If you're going to put another tag team on that list, the most glaring omission I can see would be the Midnight Express. -
I dont know many people past the age of like..9 who do that. Its much easier to cut off the corn with a knife and eat it that way. Say what? Then it's not corn on the cob, it's just...corn. I don't know anybody who cuts the corn off the cob before eating it.

They're 12th in slugging, which is the root of their problems. There's no one to drive in all these guys who keep getting on base. Rolen coming back should help, if for no other reason than he sends Scutaro back to the bench.
-
Fire the damn hitting coach. Hell, fire all the fucking hitters. Your pitchers give up 3 runs in 17 1/3 innings against the league's second-best offence and you CAN'T FUCKING WIN ONCE??? Gibbons may not last the week, and Ricciardi won't be around to see '09.

Celts/Hawks is not on TV here. Fuck a whole bunch of that.

Habs are starting Halak tonight. Panic much?

Well, that's kind of true. Really, the gambling part's been steadily deemphasized to the general public for the last decade at least, with all the corporations buying up the casinos. But they still need the gambling, because otherwise you don't have any way to support a billion-dollar resort.

I hate the Hack-a-Shaq. It's a cheap tactic. The NBA really needs to consider changing the rule to bring it in line with the college rule on intentional fouls (i.e. make them the same as technicals at all times). Doug Collins said it best on the broadcast last night -- deliberately fouling shouldn't give a team an advantage.

Doc Rivers got me thinking about this question: Who is/was the worst coach of a championship team, or a team that's otherwise really, really good? -
So, do you like your pitching, Vern?
-
This is probably the worst second round ever. Three potential sweeps? What fun is that?
-
This is beyond frustrating. Doc is going to start randomly punching his teammates in the face soon. I think the reason he has so many complete games is because Gibbons is terrified to go to the mound and take him out. He's no Ted Lilly up there.

I would have voted for Lidstrom over Malkin as well. Anyone else think Ovechkin will end up with more Hart Trophies than Crosby when it's all said and done? Assuming Crosby's team stays the way it is for the foreseeable future, I think Ovechkin will get more credit for succeeding while being surrounded by far less talent.
-
Classic paralysis by analysis. I have the same problem. I do nothing while trying and figure out the best way to do everything, instead of just picking something and making like the Nike slogan.
-
Probably something to do with his 4.57 ERA.
-
My team got an incredibly timely sweep of the Ice Hoes, with Tony Fernandez hitting for the cycle in the third game.
-
Hard to believe it's been less than a week since we were wondering whether they'd even have to go back to Boston. Now we're wondering if they'll have to go back to Boston twice.
-
I could say the same thing in reverse.
