Washington wins in OT, and remains 2 back of the Bruins and Flyers, but with one less game to play. Buffalo and Ottawa are headed to a shootout.

George Sherrill, man! He's the answer!

You all just wait til the end of the season when the Os dont finish last. And which season will that be?

Yeah, thanks for reminding me that we lost our team.

TSM Town Hall: Legacy of a Great Match at Mania
CanadianChris replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, clearly the best WrestleManias have been the ones with the biggest matches. III is the favourite Mania for a lot of people just because of how gigantic a feel the entire card had. Maybe a lot the matches themselves weren't that great in terms of workrate, but they had a huge feel to them, which is oftentimes more important. Same with X-7, which I think most people would agree was the greatest Mania to this point -- the matches were good, but the atmosphere and anticipation surrounding them, combined with the arena and the crowd, made the card legendary. On the flip side, if you look at the worst Manias, they didn't have that same feel of something special and important about to happen. WM2 had nothing to inspire the crowds, and is remembered as one of the worst ever. Same with IX, and that was a shame because the venue was one of their best. No one remembers pretty much anything about XI, because there was nothing memorable on the card -- just a standard big man/little man WWF title match, a standard UT/big man match, and a celebrity versus a midcarder in the main event. Then you have the shows that are fondly remembered even if they were one-match or two-match shows. XII and XIII were good examples of these -- no one puts XIII in the category of worst Manias ever simply because of the legendary Hart/Austin match. And Rock/Hogan at X-8 was such a huge match that it overshadowed the entire card, to the point where most people think WWE made a huge mistake by not putting them on last. As for the questions: 1. Randy Savage. Had gigantic matches at III, V, VII and VIII, plus he won the tournament at IV and had a better-than-expected FCA match with Crush at X. 2. Yes, Steve Austin's match with Bret Hart at XIII pushed him completely over the top. 3. Hogan/Andre. 4. It adds something, but it doesn't necessarily make the match. Andre's entrance at III was pretty nondescript, and Hogan's entrance for the same match was standard except that he walked to the ring when everyone else on the card except Piper took the cart. 5. I'm going to surprise a bit and say Ultimate Warrior's entrance at VII against Savage. He walked to the ring -- the only time he ever walked to the ring in his WWF career. It made the match feel that much more important, that Warrior felt he had to conserve his energy as much as possible for this match. -

No. If Searching For Bobby Fischer is a sports movie, then Rounders certainly is. Personally, I don't consider Rounders to be a sports movie, although it is one of my favourite movies ever. -

On that note, When We Were Kings is another great choice. -
Federation Era: III. This was the first PPV I ever saw, and it still feels special every time I watch it. Savage/Steamboat remains my second-favourite WM match of all time. Attitude Era: X-7. Probably the best ever, even with the awful ending. Current Era: XX. Even knowing what happened to them afterward, I still get chills at the finish of the main event. A very well done show, and being at MSG adds immeasurably to the atmosphere.

Victory. Excellent movie. Throw Bull Durham in there, too. -

That was my take on the place. I couldn't decide which cheesecake to have. I had trouble narrowing it down to 10, let alone picking one. -
Finally putting TJ Ford back in the starting lineup was huge. I like Calderon a lot, but he's better suited to being a sixth man. And Calderon was the guy who went to the coach and said Ford should be starting!

I edited my prediction to better reflect Baltimore's chances this season.

Nah. What's he done, really? "Hey, Ovechkin, get out there."

If you're talking about the majors, no. Canada can't even support the minor league teams it has anymore. Vancouver has a team in the Northwest League (A-ball), and they draw about 3500, which is around half-capacity. It says something when you can only get a single-A team in the third-largest city in Canada. Incidentally, I went to a game the last time I was out there and had a blast. I even won the second inning door prize, a hedge trimmer worth $100. That was fun taking with me on the plane back home. -

And millions of Fantasy baseball fans cry out in anger. Al took him in the fourth round of our eight-team AL-only league, and took offence when I mocked him for it.

The Rangers officially sent Jarrod Saltalamacchia to the minors today.

Great. I've gone 16 months without scoring, and Marvin gets two in under two weeks. Updated standings - March 26, 2008 (changes in red) 140 - Marvinisalunatic 45 - Darthtiki, Toshiaki Koala, Vern Gagne

Yes.

At this point, I'd say that Washington is the only team not currently in the top 8 with a chance at making the playoffs. They have the easiest schedule left of any of the playoff contenders -- two against Florida, two against Tampa Bay and one more against the 'Canes. Boston must beat the Leafs again to have any measure of confidence heading into the final five games. Nice bounceback game for the Senators against Buffalo, but far too little, far too late to catch the Canadiens. I'm almost hoping the Rangers catch them for fifth so they can draw Carolina in the first round instead of the Devils or Penguins.

AL East 1/Boston 2/New York (Where is the pitching depth? The starters are too young, and the bullpen is too thin. The hitting will carry them, but not far enough.) 3/Tampa Bay 4/Toronto (The less said, the better. Sad thing is, this team could probably win the NL Central.) 5/Baltimore (Not only will they finish last, with fewer wins than last year, they will have the worst record in the American League, and possibly in all of Major League Baseball, depending on how badly the Giants suck this year.) AL Central 1/Detroit x2/Cleveland (They'll win the wild card, and come closer to winning the division than people think right now.) 3/Kansas City (They're coming on. Could be a .500 team in a year or two.) 4/Minnesota 5/Chicago AL West 1/Los Angeles (By a LOT. At least 15 games.) 2/Texas 3/Seattle (Not nearly as good as everyone thinks.) 4/Oakland NL East 1/New York 2/Atlanta 3/Philadelphia 4/Washington 5/Florida NL Central 1/Chicago x2/Milwaukee (Starting pitching will be their biggest weakness this year.) 3/St. Louis 4/Cincinnati 5/Pittsburgh 6/Houston NL West (Outside of the AL East, where I have a rooting interest, this division interests me more than any in baseball. The only certainty is that the Giants will finish fifth, probably by 20 games. Seriously, I could pick the other four teams out of a hat and have as much of a chance at being right as if I put some thought into it.) 1/Arizona 2/Colorado 3/Los Angeles 4/San Diego 5/San Francisco

Yeah, I noticed that as well. But, SagetTed also told the kids her name, which would make me think she WASN'T the mother, because the kids would know it's their mother once the right name comes up.
