I had read that the Red Sox talked to the A's coaches, who said they already knew they (the A's coaches) weren't getting the stipend. This despite the fact that the stipend for the coaches had been promised by MLB before the teams agreed to go on this trip. Good for the Sox players for standing up for their coaches like this.

I'm not saying this to be sexist, but I truly believe the men's team would mop the floor with the women. My high school coach said that he once had a team of his play a nationally ranked women's college team in a scrimmage and it was an absolute slaughter. I'd imagine that the women would be coached well enough to put up a fight, but the disparity in athleticism would be a nightmare. That's not sexist, that's reality. It'd be a thirty-point game, minimum.

How much pressure did they have on them in those games, though? I wonder how well they'll shoot in a very close game against a top team. They didn't get anything even resembling a good game in the C-USA tournament.

It's a niche sport marketed as if it's mainstream. After being beaten over the head with the WNBA constantly, you start to develop a good, healthy resentment toward it. Unless, of course, you happen to like the WNBA... :: points thumbs at self ::[/color] Congrats, you're part of the niche.

Bump because the McRib is back here in Canada. Apparently just in a few cities, though.

The Game of Life? That's...random.

Awesome, we're done. Krankor, when do you estimate you'll have the draft inputted?

This year is worse than last year. Nearly a quarter of the way through the year, and only four people have points. Updated standings - March 18, 2008 (changes in red) 75 - Marvinisalunatic 45 - Darthtiki, Toshiaki Koala, Vern Gagne

The new ombudsman is just ridiculously good. It's a niche sport marketed as if it's mainstream. After being beaten over the head with the WNBA constantly, you start to develop a good, healthy resentment toward it.

Questions to be answered by the next person to post in the thread

The answer has to come from baseball. Al would probably have a better idea, but I would say Rabbit Maranville. -
Pretty sure it's full salary, yes.

Whats the first pay per view you saw live?
CanadianChris replied to Frankie Williams's topic in General Wrestling
Never attended a PPV live. First one I ever saw as it happened was WrestleMania III (on closed-circuit). First one I actually paid for myself was WrestleMania 2000. -
Brian Elliott came up while Emery was injured at the start of the year and got a shutout in his only start. He's supposed to be decent. Hasn't had a great season in Binghamton, though he's only 22 and this is his first pro season.

No, I expect them to win a lot of 5-4 type games. Anything Gerber can give us is a bonus. The Sun had an article on the back page yesterday on how Emery could be cut for only a $500K cap hit per year over the next four years. I was pretty happy to hear that. My dad and I were discussing that yesterday: Do buy-outs count against the cap? From what it sounds, the entire salary isn't paid, but there's a penalty. If the player is under 26 years old, only half his salary counts against the cap if he's cut. (Emery will be 26 in September.) The team is allowed to spread it over a four-year period.

NCAA BBall Tournament, 1st and 2nd Rounds

Easter falls at the perfect time this year. I'm not taking any time off work, but I'll still only miss the afternoon session on Thursday. -
My Elite 8 after about five minutes of thought: North Carolina over Tennessee Kansas over Wisconsin Texas over Memphis UCLA over Xavier Championship: North Carolina over UCLA Looking at the brackets, it's incredible how top-heavy college basketball is this year.

No, I have Rogers. Ironically, I used to have ExpressVu, and I'm pretty sure it DID have CBC Toronto. I'm paying 250 for phone, high-speed internet, HD TV + Super Sports Pak, and rental for two HD PVRs. Knock off the PVRs, which we'll probably do very soon, and we'll be around 200. ObHockey: Just when I think they've turned the corner, the Senators go down to Raleigh and lay a huge fucking egg. I'm pretty much resigned to the 4-5 matchup. But, they did win the East from the 4-hole last year.

Forget the Patriots...Tiger Woods is going 19-0 this year.

Neither did Arizona State. If they'd gotten in, I would've been disgusted.

West region: 1/16: UCLA vs. Mississippi Valley St. 8/9: BYU vs. Texas A&M 5/12: Drake vs. Western Kentucky 4/13: Connecticut vs. San Diego 2/15: Duke vs. Belmont 7/10: West Virginia vs. Arizona 3/14: Xavier vs. Georgia 6/11: Purdue vs. Baylor Awesome. I'm so happy Baylor made it. That reaction was fantastic. There isn't anyone in this bracket that should challenge UCLA.
